Well... its a matter of personal taste. Personally i love Carbon. Its my favorite, period. But it doesn't have the stock features we love about the Moto X.
Most of us chose a rom based in some cool features that are not present in stock rom. In this particular situation, there's nothing like our default rom. Yes, there are roms faster, and prettier, but if our Moto X didn't have ActiveDisplay, Voice Activation, Camera Twist, and if you could find another rom with these features, you would probably flash it right away. I know i would
So..... to put it plain and simple.... Stock rom is the best rom. Use it with Xposed, GravityBox, and so on.

i'd like to try liquid smooth rom but first i'd like to know how is its battery life!! if f u want a very great rom based on stock and very smooth and with a great battery life ,you should try KRYPTON ROM... it is great!:good:
Thx for your answer guys! I apreciate!

Everyone has their own favorites....ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. Its all taste and needs.....the best ROM is the one best for YOU.
Start flashing and find out what's best for you!!!
Like previous post, it just depends on your liking. I have been running krypton for awhile now (4.4.2) with xposed/gravity box. I've flashed a couple Roms but can't seem to give up the original Moto active display. Just be sure to make nandroid backups and flash away find one you like.
Cleaned up stock

Don't compare ROMs by asking others, Do it by flashing both ROMs on your device and keep the result to yourself

just a personal opinion here... I don't see much difference between Omar's rom and CM 10.1 (apart from having something else to flash).

yes, I have a Razr Maxx running 10.1 and apart from some bells and whistles I think the Razr i is a far better phone even without Cm. But as I said... it is fun to have different roms to flash so the more the merrier.
i thought about flashing omars rom, but as i red there a still some unsolved bugs, Is there an internal updater? without im not willing to flash his rom

Are there any other roms for razr i except those 2 on development section?
There are not realy Roms for RAZR i, just mods of the Stock Rom. Omar-Rom, Pi-llama Rom & infiniROM, choose what u like the most.

In your opinion, what is the best for multitasking? Many tnks.
Enviado de meu XT890 usando Tapatalk 4
Pi-llama is quite good, very smooth mod overall.
Having tried both Omar's and infinirom, I can say that both are fine for multitasking. Omar's is smoother; when you're downloading or updating apps, there's is some stuttering with infinirom. This is to be expected though, since infinirom is for better battery life. If you want top notch performance and like to try out new stuff every few days, go for Omar's. If you want a good daily driver that has decent performance and don't like constantly updating, go for infinirom. Note that battery performance between the two isn't drastically different, especially with the latest versions of Omar's rom.

@Megatron007 starting a project ))
Just wait ))
Or you can try it now
But I know nothing about bugs...
Nexus Experience ROM developer already released 6.0 for Moto X 2014. Hopefully, won't be long for us.
However, I've read that there is not any improvement over lollipop.

Anyone tried this yet? I'm wondering how functional it is. I'm sure it's too early for it to be anywhere near stable but I'm just curious.

Looks like it's gone now. I downloaded the 11/25 build but haven't tried it. I'm assuming it'd be the same result as before.
Any chance the reboots were because I didn't use the right kernel?
Is there any chance to be able to ROM my Verizon 2013 moto x? (non-dev edition) Or am I stuck on 5.1 forever :/

i have downloaded rom and flashed it but it didn't boot up, it will take time to build a stable rom
Últimamente el equipo oficial de cyanogenmod ha estado sacando pocas actualizaciones "nightlies", a comparación con algunas semanas atrás.. será que estarán ocupados con cm13??
Hopefully soon. I also have the 2015 edition of the Moto E and while it is missing some features (especially the decoupling of the ringer and notification streams), a CAF/AOSP version of CM13 is pretty fluid, smooth and the battery life is OFF the charts. Took it off the charger at 10 pm local time and it only used 7% in 10 hours...so the Doze feature is clearly working....
I also started to port CM13 to Moto X independently of @Megatron007 some weeks ago in my spare time . This is my first experience of building CM. So far I'm still fixing build errors I think I will contact him in pm.
please, plz.. people...do something
please make a marshmallow rom... i need.. i repeat.. i needd now on tap
Hello and good day/night to all.
First let me recap, I haven't been active in this device forum since I got the NOOK HD+ for my Sister and removed Stock to flash CM9, then she left our country to study in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is now back but for Vacations for a very short period of time ( she lives in few days).
She told me she had problems with the firmware, mostly when she turned on WiFi the device would slow down a lot making it almost unusable. Her laptop broke so she depends on the tablet for now for even study.
So the first thing I did was to do a quick research for options. I picked the New maintained MM CM13 build by Amaces and been testing for 2 days now but its definitely not going to work out for my sister as MM is recent and there are many things to work out still.
I'm here to ask you guys (flashaholics) for advice. What ROM would you recommend me for my sister.
She needs something that just works, bugs free, good multitasking, near smooth experience that doesn't slow down after a while, good WiFi that don't cause issues.
"We don't care on the eye candy part and I don't mind if its really outdated firmware like Jellybean, ICS, Kitkat nor if it has a bunch of features."
So please recommend me the best and simple (light) experience ROM in performance that last that you've flashed in the past.
Hope you understand the rush of this, I'm running out of time, we are traveling plus I'm the one driving so I really don't have enough time to test different ROMs blind.
Thank you so much in advance.

For a simple, stable rom I suggest CM10.1.3 stable. Go to my thread linked in my signature for instructions.

FWIW I've been running CM11 20151122-NIGHTLY build since it first came out and I am very happy with its responsiveness and stability as a daily driver.
I had tried out CM12.1 for a few weeks and found its performance can have wild swings as time goes on.
CM
I would probably grab the last official snapshot cm off the cm website and run that. May not be the fastest or flashiest but it's rock solid. Just my 2 cents
Thank you all for the replies. I just got back from a trip and I'll have time tonight to flash CM 10.1.3, I also have the proper gapps and TabletUI zips ready.
I'll post back how it goes after testing.

There is new CM11 nightly: cm-11-20160221-NIGHTLY-ovation.zip
Has any of you tried it?
Enviado desde mi ghost mediante Tapatalk
OK so tested CM 10.1.3 and I left it that way, she didn't like TabletUI (plus i found few issues with it) so I better reinstalled system.
After I disabled all 3 animations options from developer options , the tablet started feeling a bit more faster/responsive. Enough to not pull my hair while multitasking and using apps.
Wish it be faster while using apps but oh well when I get another chance and enough time, I may try another ROM in it, CM11, as was also recommended.
Thanks!

Mokee is the best right now and has an amazing ui
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761812 after trying latest cm nightly(Setup wizard stopped working) and cm11 m12 snapshot(tablet would automatically reboot after shutting down).
So far, i have never experienced any of those issues on mokee.
Thank you @paz4491 I'll give it a try next time. I've used mokee in the past in my MotoX and I liked it.
How long have you been running the Mokee ROM?

I couldn't get Mokee to work. "Unfortunately, Google Keyboard has failed." kept popping up when I tried to go through the setup. How can I get through setup without a keyboard?
I tried the Marshmallow ROM available here on XDA and had similar problems - in addition to random freezing.
I'm still running PacMan ROM 4.4.4 - no problems.

Hmm that is very strange, never had this issue on my hummingbird..
boot into twrp, mount the system and use twrp's file manager to delete the stock keyboard in system/priv-app....After rebooting you can then use adb to install another third party keyboard.

The keyboard failure is usually because you used the wrong version of gapps for the version of rom you installed.

Plus Mokee has their own gapps package that is the recommended one.
At list that was the case for my MotoX when I tried Mokee month ago.

The M7 shipped with Jelly Bean, so it is impossible to compile and find roms that are older than Jelly Bean.

No.. but I'll ship that forward. as long as the Hardware Drivers been provided... generic driver who maintain similar service.. i mean, flymeOs5 is okay, but the stock camera shuts general service at the hardware acceleration if not just the apk misleading written as some official application do behave without the stretches.. ART Driver are provided, aren't? those would be insane and don't kid me with build.prof swoosh, is great man, a nutshell.
