Hi everyone,
Currently running AOKP m7 ics on my tab - I had jelly bean but it wasn't as stable so I reverted.
Google play gives me server error when loading up, so I can't download or update any apps.
I've wiped the app's cache and data, the device cache and removed and re-added my Google account several times, all to no avail.
Running out of ideas..Short of a full wipe I'm not sure what to do.
Also I have cwm 6.0.0.8, am I at risk of bricking the tablet with a wipe? Aokp m7.

Use Market Enabler or VPN fix depending do you or not have rooted device
Clear Data of Google Play Store/Market…
Open up Google Play Store/Market…
Download/Update of at least one application…
Restart/Reboot device…
VIOLA… google play store still working…

That error should be innocent. The command is trying to delete multiple folders. The dalvik cache sits in different folders on different devices, so it tries to delete all, instead of finding out which is your case.... (AFAIK)
As for your server error... Looks like no one has an idea... Do you have same error on other Roms, non AOKP?

Ah okay, so the dalvik cache should now be clear?
I've never had the issue before, and I had the previous version of aokp, a jelly bean aosp rom and stock touchwiz honeycomb.
It's beginning to look like a full wipe is the only option, no one else on the from has reported this issue.
do you install the Google+?
if yes, try remove the account and re-add yr account
i'm not sure, but i got this error b4, and solve by re-add the google+ account

I haven't got Google+ but I have added the Google account.... anxiety I've removed and readded it several times. Still no luck
Same Boat
Hi all,
I have been without google play for over a week now, I am on a HTC Sensasion 4G and I installed "ViperS 1.3.5" the thing is I had about 3-4 days usage out of it where it was fully working but now all I get is the "Server Error" message when I open it.
I have tried removing and readding my account for google probably over 10 times now with no luck, I also tried removing and re-installing google play with a combination of removing my google account at the same time. I have tried removing and reinstalling G-Apps which didn't make any difference and lastly just now I tried reseting my phone and I still get the same error.
I have a android mini PC at home with google play working fine on it so its somthing specific to my phone I think
I don't see how it makes a difference but my network provider is three mobile from UK.
I don't really know what else to try other than reinstalling the ROM which I will go ahead and try now I guess.
---------- Post added at 01:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:53 PM ----------
Ok I can confirm that reinstalling the rom from scratch fixed google play for me, but its actually version 1.3.0 I have not 1.3.5 I will update to that when I get home
Hope this helps in some way.

I fixed this problem by reinstalling Gapps for ICS.
Hey guys,
I am stock rooted on my Note 3. I only rooted to clean up most of the ATT bloatware that was installed; so that's all I've removed.
I can't check software updates. I tap and tap and tap the Software Updates button in the settings and nothing. I've tried restarting the phone and still nothing. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Devices with root access can't check for software updates. Your device status is listed as "custom" once you root it.

Enable the checkmark. Then it may take a few reboots to make it work. (Make sure XPosed is enabled. I forgot that once.)

Ahh man that sucks! Looks like your learning your lesson the hard way.
This isn't directed at you, or any one person. But I don't know where you "I deleted bloat and need it now" people learned to delete stuff. BUT STOP DELETING LOL! You must always always always perform a complete app backup FIRST! I highly recommend titanium backup pro. Use it to backup EVERYTHING first. Freeze unwanted apps and use phone for 2 days. If device still works fine then uninstall the app, but keep the backup! A 5 minute backup saves you a 50min restore process.

EDIT: Would doing just a factory reset on my phone fix that? Or do I need to download a full ROM?

When you first install Titanium backup pro you'll see a white box with a checkmark thru it on the top right. That's known as "Batch Actions". Within that menu you'll see category's like verify backups, backup, restore, move/integrate etc..... I recommend running "Backup all user apps + system data". The first time running is slow. Now you'll have EVERYthing backed up. Now to freeze an app, use the menu and scroll to desired app. Select it and choose "freeze". Now the frozen app will be highlighted as you scroll the list. Reboot and run the phone a day or 2. If no glitches arise and you need the space, you can "uninstall" the app. Uninstall it by selecting it and choosing "uninstall". After an app is uninstalled the backup you made will be allllll they way down the list with a line thru it. If you find out you need the uninstalled app, click it and select "restore" then choose "app only". If you choose "app+data" glitches can arise. Especially if you restore a backed up 4.3 app to a 4.4.2 rom.
I hope that lil rundown on titanium helps ya. If I am unclear like I have been before, feel free to shoot another question.

A factory reset can sometimes fix issues like this. It all depends on how the item was removed. Frozen apps will be restored. But deleted and blitzed apps don't come back from factory resets. You never know till you try, and it can't hurt to try since your about to reflash back to stock anyway. So give it a shot!

Thank you, sir!
The only thing I have at the bottom that have lines through it are AT&T Smart Wi-fi" and "media."
I'll have to follow that thread.
Just out of curiosity, if I took my phone back into an AT&T store and asked them to complete wipe and restore it, do they have a full ROM that they would be putting back on? I wouldn't mind that since I would rather them do it since it's faster. Not much time to mess around with this right now.
A Samsung store should be able to. I'm unsure about an at&t store. Call one by you.
Received mine earlier today, and I have already rooted and installed Google services. The first thing you want to do is pick up the developer rom from Mi if it's not already installed. The numerical versions are different, but both are MIUI 6. Follow the recommended procedure. Once that's done, use the mistore and search for SuperSU, and the familiar shield should appear. Install it, and it should ask for root permissions. Allow it, update the binary, and from there you can start the process of getting Google onto the phone. In the interest of saving you time and possibly a headache, this will get you started. Since you'll probably want to take a break after this, leave a comment or any questions you may have and I'll get back to you.

en.miui.com. It's in the downloads section.
Install TWRP, install latest (non-developer!) rom, GApps and root - ~5 minute version:
Thanks to the outstanding work from folks at MIUI forums, TWRP is now available to install via fastboot (fastboot flash recovery _insert .img name here_). Since you'll be able to achieve root without needing the native functionality, you can pick up the latest update from Mi if you like. Ever in the interest of saving you time, you can pick up the GApps package here . It didn't flash via TWRP for me, but I unzipped it and installed everything with no issues via the pre-installed file explorer. At this point, I downloaded the latest SuperSU beta and installed it via TWRP to update the binary from TWRP installation. I'm currently messing with QPST and QXDM settings and will update with any findings to report.
I manage to install Gapps 64 bit and works flawlessly

I had the same problem, what you need to do is go to the security short cut on your home screen then permission then again permission scroll to your sms app and give it permission to send and receive.
Thanks, it worked but I find the default app actually better for dual sim card & selecting quickly which number to use is useful for my work.
I am having trouble getting root. I have downloaded and flashed the developer rom from the Xiaomi site without any issues. I have also gotten all google apps to install and function without any issues, but I can't get SuperSU to update the binaries, it always fails. A rootcheck application confirms that I do not have root access. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to install SuperSU from the recovery menu instead of from inside the android environment? Any help is appreciated. Take care guys.

You do not need to use super su just go to security application > permissions > root access and grant the application that needs root root access.
So I did the dumb thing of accidently logging out of snapchat and now when i try to log back in it says, “Oh no! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again”. Btw installing and uninstalling xposed takes time to boot. It takes around 2-5 minutes. Even when you will disable xposed using the xposed installer in the link above it might take atleast 1 min and if u didnt read in the thread you must uninstall the previous xposed installer on your device. Btw its mainly for lollipop and marshmallow. Not sure if it will work on older Android

Just out of curiosity, is that possible? Does flashing firmware through Odin not wipe the phone automatically? Also if he can't or won't do that, his only option is a factory reset as I believe when you remove an app through ADB it removes it from the the current system/data, but the factory ROM image obviously remains intact.
