Now that we have root, I want to finally utilize the phone!
What's safe to do in XPosed framework and what's not? What are common things people use it for? I'm familiar with flashing ROMs but haven't really used xPosed aside from installing one module for allowing better battery stats to work with Kit Kat.
I use the exchange security hack and the greenify module.

for me its safe to use
BUT if you downloaded a module NOT for you device or rom so you may get force close with the app that the module is modded (eg. module modded the settings app, so the settings app may not work) (you'll need to disable the module)
and its don't effect to the battery life :good:
thats all i got!

Are you able to enable Soft Keys with GB? I'm super nervous about doing a few things since we do not have recovery (900A).
My warranty flag is still 0x0, but BootManager caused my kernel boot animation to change to the "Custom" unlocked padlock symbol.

Might have to do with system apps being restricted from startup. And I've heard that changing from art to dalvik can trigger the custom status but just a thought

I have not. Someone else posted it doesn't work, so I guess that's the answer. I use GB to tweak the status bar mainly b/c I like the date to show and I hate the stock TW white color. Other than that I don't mess with too many of the settings it can manipulate.
I've had better luck with Wanam Xposed than with Gravity Box on the gs5.

Will have to check out Wanam Exposed. I was really hoping to have lockscreen widgets again.

It goes back and forth for me. Different Xposed modules will add that message to your boot sequence, but a few reboots and it should go away.

Obviously most are aware Google Play have blocked any ad blocking apps but i had an apk. of AdAway from my Galaxy S3 so i installed it on my One but it does not appear to block all ads like it used to even when i manually update it and reboot there's always ads in certain apps, am i using an older version of this apk. or does anyone else have an alternative apk'. of any ad blocking app i could use, or is it something to do with the phone itself?
Cheers
unless you're running a modified kernel with the protection of /system partitions disabled, your host file gets replaced by default every time you reboot.
I've adblock 2.3 and it works fine, i don't have ads in apps
Which version do you have?
And see if you aren't running a custom kernel with /system partition protection disabled.
Have Trickdroid on my phone so I choose stock kernel as it's the most stable i believe, not ready to flash custom kernel yet as development is still in the early stages, running same version as above stated and not sure it blocks any ads, any other way around this without flashing a custom kernel?

There's a mod that removes the protection from the stock kernel. It's in the development section.

But only on full boot, no problem if you have fast boot enabled... Works fine for me without kernel mod in that basis
Only problem was I needed to install Ad away with titanium backup as it did not show up in the market for some reason

As i mentioned in the OP Google play no longer allow apps like ad away and similar ad blocking apps, ridiculous but what can you do.
I actually don't have fastboot enabled, I'll do that now and try again and report back.

Had better luck with adblock plus than adaway, might want to try that instead.
This was one of the first things I installed (all of yesterday, when I got it).
First thing to note is that you don't have to reboot the phone, despite what the app says. Just activate it and go back to Home screen. In fact, a reboot, as noted above, will undo the effects of Ad-away.
I did notice that it seemed to disable itself at one point today, unless my phone rebooted at some point in my pocket without my knowledge, which would be disconcerting.

I just checked the "help" information in my AdAway app, it sets out instructions for a workaround for HTC S-on devices i.e. how to move the hosts file to data and put a symlink in system...
Think this answers the question in the OP
Per post 12 you can currently get AdAway here either directly or by installing F-Droid market (alternative to Play store)

Aye you can grab it here:
https://adblockplus.org/downloads/adblockplusandroid-1.1.2.apk
If you're on stock ROM and don't want to use any kernel patch to make your /system partition writable, you can flash this little zip through recovery (e.g. CWM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327934. Does exactly the same as the app (blocking hosts through system's hosts file) but applied via recovery
Hi guys, I'm writing here just because I want to know one thing about xposed module:
- does it work on Desire c running cm10?
I've just looked the official thread and I saw this
I develop the Xposed framework based on the AOSP sources. I'm personally using CM10.1 on an I9100 (Samsung Galaxy S2, bought in Germany). Basically, it should work on any phone which with a ROM based on Android 4.0 or later and an ARM processor (this is the processor architecture, most smart phones and tablets have one). Exceptions might be ROMs which are different from the original Android code in some very internal, central code parts (which don't need to be touched for most theming and enhancement modifications). Examples are Miui-based ROMs (see known incompatibilities below). But this is related to the ROM, not the phone itself.

I know, I can make a backup and restore it in case xposed module doesn't work, but I don't like so much to make backups (it tooks very long and I don't know if is just my phone that spend all this time or not)
I hope someone can help me

Apparently, we cannot change the notification panel (color or image) using Xblast. I tried a lot. I wanted transparent.. Then finally, I had to do it myself by decompiling SystemUI. Now I have transparent..
Try the other options like center clock and clock color, Status bar color, Carrier label. They all work

I second that. It works great.
Another module I use is XlockY by the same developer as of Xblast tools. It helps do some cool things in lockscreen like changing lockrings and all.
Although some ROM-dependent features dont work here too.

If your on stock rom you aren't on a Deodexed ROM which is what you need to be to use rom toolbox's modify framework and what not. To do that on a stock rom try using xposed framework and the module gravity box although this can only change status bar and notification bar colors really... Until we get a cm style rom working we won't be able to use rom toolbox's to modify framework

Aha i don't think i did
I assume with no custom recovery we can't flash font packs (although I've read a couple places freegee can be used to flash cwm or twrp) if a custom recovery isn't an option right now how can we change all fonts globally to the one we choose.. I'd like to have Droid Sans. does iFont work with this phone?
I've never used adb to push anything but I do have font packs that worked with 4.2 and 4.3. they were flashable packs. could I adb push these font packs and it work? I have adb installed so do I just use cmd to input the codes?
If I used root browser from rom toolbox pro (system/fonts) and my phone is currently set to the SmartGothic font would I just need to replace those smart gothic fonts with the droid sans ttf files? do I need to change any other files in system/fonts?
if anyone is interested android tweaker 2 has a font addon option for $1.23 and it does work to change your fonts.
I've been using tweaker 2 for while too. Bit scared to use it for fonts an etc since we don't have a back up lol.

yes the font addon works (att d950). make sure in your system settings the 'roboto' font is chosen. that's what this addon replaces. and no I haven't used it for the bravia engine or zip aligning anything. just enabled a few tweaks and had no problems with it so far. I know there isn't a backup but you can always go back to stock if something messes up.
I'm using rom toolbox pro also for certain things.. I can confirm youi can change your lcd density without soft bricking. from what I know about other phones it probably won't look right unless you use a custom launcher. I use nova prime

I have no issues with anything. Bloat gone and Knox disabled. I didn't buy the S5 for all of Samsung's gimmicky features, so I don't care if they're there or not.

this is what you do to get s health to work:
Make sure the Xposed isn’t installed.
We need to change build.prop file inside the system partition, you can also get it done manually by using a file manager app or get a build prop editor on play store.
Once you find the build.prop file, look for the “ro.securestorage.support=true” line.
Now change the line to “ro.securestorage.support=false”.
Install the Xposed framework again.
The final step is wiping S Health app data, head to System -> App Manager -> ALL -> S Health then wipes the data. Now your Galaxy S5 should be able to runs Xposed framework and S Health simultaneously without any problems.
