Connect USB to mainboard usb port .
Install latest Kies .
Reboot phone .
Connect phone with Debugging off .
Connect phone in USB mass storage mode and wait for windows to find drivers and install them .

Tried that as well and still not recognized. I'm beginning to this the problem is from the phone itself, cause i've tried it on my PC and Mac and both had the same results (not recognized)
However the phone is working normally, except to this problem
Check for damaged pins in phones micro usb socket.Use fine needle to straight them up.I had the same problem and my phone now is fine.

And when I manually unselect the usb debuging and reselect,it just shift to the usb mass storage page.I dont know why.
I am running the newest cm7.1 RC1
Sorry for my bad English, Please help!!Thanks!!
I have spent a long time trying to get the USB connection to work with adb with no success. In the end I just installed adbWireless from the market. It works flawlessly...

Your computer does not recognize the phone at all when you connect it via USB???
Does your phone start loading the battery when you connect it to the USB cable?

If the phone is powered off and i plug it in it starts directly into a boot loop, and i get 'usb device not recognised'
the only way to shut the phone off is to pull the battery
thanks
Ok when you are in a bootloop, the computer can not recognize the phone. This is only possible in the normal operation mode or on the download mode.
Did you ever try to come into download mode without the USB cable connected?
I mad a jig and can use it to get into download mode, but still get 'usb device notrecognized'
Thanks
Have you tried using another computer or reinstall Windows 7 to your computer when connecting? While Windows 8 should support 95-99% of devices with old derives, the legacy support is never perfect with new OS.

My device doesnt appear on my PC when I connect it and niether does my phone pop up USB debugging menu which it once used. I have no clue what happened to my poor phone. Its running 4.2.2 cm. And it doesnt get recognised by odin either in the download mode. what may have gone wrong?
Do you have force fast charge turned on? If you do simply turn it off.
You have to install usb samsung drivers

you mean from developer options? I don't get the message in the notification tray "USB connected" where as I used to get it previously. Now it simply charges the device and nothing more

Yes, from developer option enable debugging mode as pic below
And about Odin don't recognize your phone, you have to download Samsung driver>Restart PC > boot your phone into download mode then plug it to PC it will be recognized.. If you have win8 installed and it still don't recognize your phone then install driver from windows update..
In win7 it install it automatically

I've already got those settings enabled. But My phone doesn't get connected
Usually it gives me notification USB Connected and then I could select it to turn on USB or not. But now it doesn't give me that nitofcation when I connect it even though it still charges my phone. Are there any drivers inside the phone Which may have got corrupted or something?

1-I know that you are using semaphore kernel so, Did you enabled fast charge? If yes disable it as shown in pic
2- try to unplug your phone, uncheck debugging and re-enable it again then connect your phone and see

No, its useless and consume ram
Try a new flash... factory reset. Wipe cache format system dir etc to get a clean start.
It worked for me to clear the problem. Just remember to back up apps and data first.... titanium or similar.

Hello Hussam91,
I can think of two things:
First - maybe you didn't see the message in the notification bar? (see attached picture)
(The button in the middle - tap it and allow the USB connection in the next screen).
If this was not the reason - maybe this can help you then:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144709
I had the problem that I could not connect the phone in myPhoneExplorer via USB. The reason seems to be a new usb security feature.
Make sure you have the latest adb drivers installed, like mentioned in the thread.
I ran "adb devices" from the command line (like mentioned in thread), first the phone was shown offline. Then, a popup was shown on the phone that allowed me to add my computer's fingerprint. After that, everything worked fine.
Greetings!
I DL'd motorola device manager, its up to date
DL'd drivers for motorola
using original usb cord
Android motorola ADB interface installed
Rooted
USB debugging on
phone driver installed from phone
tried all 4 usb ports on my laptop
i have tried all that i can think of and can find on the wonderful net, but at a loss now to get this to work.
Thank you in advance
Could be drivers
