Kitkat SMS and MMS issues - Verizon LG G2

Ever since flashing a Kitkat rom (currently on the most recent PA release), I have had a large amount of trouble sending MMS. Sometimes I can't send them at all, and receiving them takes forever. With SMS, it seems like every now and then it takes multiple minutes to receive a text (With hangouts I can check and see that it was sent 5 or more minutes prior to when I got it). I've also noticed that my signal seems weak for some strange reason. It's always 1 or 2 bars, and my family's iPhones are all 4 bars. If anybody could help with my problem it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could be carrier issue. Stock ROM? If non-stock, try another ROM or flash to the stock and see if persists. If so, call carrier.
I also get this - I get the message to say that MMS download is beginning and then it goes away for a couple of hours until the message finally appears. This is a T-mobile UK vario III on the stock ROM and in a good 3G/HSDPA area.
Not seen many other people with the problem though.

I'm on T-Mobile in the UK and get the same problem, I have noticed it seems to be even worse if activesync is working.
It can take up to a couple of hours to receive or send an MMS. I'm running the phone unmodified straight out of the box.
I am also on Tmobile UK network but have not noticed any significant delay sending or receiving MMS or SMS. I think the problems are more likely to be network or server related.
Just tested sending a VGA sized photo from my Kaiser to my wifes SE K610 by MMS and replying and in both cases the message was sent and received in under 2 minutes.
I have had SMS go missing for hours at a time in the past. The record for me is an SMS sent at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve which did not arrive until 4pm New Years Day. I put this down to network/server congestion. On the rare occasions I am unable to send an SMS or MMS straight away I have found cycling the Radio off and on sorts the problem out.
It can be dificult to pinpoint reasons for delays but the message may be delayed at any point between Senders Phone, Cell Tower, Carrier Network, Message server, Gateway, Receivers Message Server, Carrier Network, Cell Tower and Phone.

[Q] Verizon Moto X MMS Issues

Hi all,
Since upgrading to 5.0 OTA I have had a lot of trouble sending/receiving MMS messages. The messages I do receive are very low-res, but usually I can't receive them at all. When I try to send them, about 90% of the time, it just hangs on "sending..." and burns through my battery as it tries for hours to send the picture.
I've tried the following:
clearing cache
Hangouts, Messenger, Stock messaging app
Wifi / not Wifi
Resetting APNs
Toggling airplane mode
Soft reboot
Hard reboot
etc, etc.
It seems to mostly be when I'm at work, which is weird because I have full 4G service while I'm here (I work in downtown Portland, not exactly the boonies) It happens other times, too, but while at work it's far more prevalent.
No problems sending/receiving texts.
Does anyone have a potential solution?
Thanks.
Bumping this - I'm getting the exact same issue. Very frustrating and I can't figure out how to get around it.
Same here. Posted similar thread. Troubleshooted everything. Must be a lollipop issue unfortunately

Split SMS not being received

I have the new LG G4 from Sprint. I have already gotten my phone replaced, done PRL updates, and factory resets. Both phones have suffered from not being able to send SMS split messages. Any messages that need to be split are rarely received by the recipient. This happens with multiple people, so it is not just one recipient. One example is when I send a message that is longer than 160 characters to my girlfriend who is on the same plan with me, using my previous Galaxy s4. I have to send the same message 4 or 5 times for her to receive it. She never receives any other of the multiple copies that I sent. I had the Galaxy S4 for two years through sprint and never witnessed the problem. I am in the same locations each day. Is anyone else having this issue or is there anything I can do. I have been to the Sprint store multiple times and they determined it was a device issue the first time. Got a new device and the issue is exactly the same. It is very frustrating since over the past two years I never had the issue and now I do after switching plans and phones.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
I'm getting an error about 40% of the time just sending regular messages. Also missing phone calls and just getting voice mails.

Not receiving texts all the time

I've been having a weird problem. I don't always receive my text messages from certain people. There have been times where I don't receive messages from my wife. My dad sent me a text the other day and I received it 5 hours later.
I called ATT and they have a work order and will check the tower. Have had the xz1c for about 3 years now and never had an issues.
I figured out the problem. I had to update the google messages app.

Problems sending/receiving texts since Android 12

I recently installed Noble ROM 2.2 and love it. However, from time to time I can't send or receive text messages.
Now, I can't pinpoint exactly when this happens. I usually notice it when an SMS (not MMS) sits there trying to send and I get an error:
"Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available."
However, I have two (2) bars of cell service and can make/send calls just fine.
One of two things seems to "jog" the messages into sending/receiving:
1) rebooting the phone, or
2) making a phone call (I just noticed this for the first time today)
Any ideas?
I don't think it is the ROM. I am using Ting (T-mobile SIM card), which Ting just replaced in case that was the problem. Thanks.
