[Q] HTC Media Link HD vs Media Wifi

Hi,
I own a tablet Nexus 7.
I just bought a HTC Media Link to watching HD video on television.
But there is a problem. When the HTC is connect on television, I see the image that invites to swipe my fingers on my Nexus to see on television.
The Nexus 7 detects the HTC Wifi and connects with password. So far no problem.
Then I open the application Wifi Media to view photos and play a video.
But Wifi Media doesn't detect HTC, It only sees that android tablet.
In addition, Wifi Media does not play any video in any format on the Nexus 7 itself.
I tried several things, uninstall, reinstall, close the tablet, restart the HTC, I even reset the Nexus 7 at the original factory setting but nothing works.
However, different videos on Youtube shows that this should work.
I thought the new update for Android 4.2.2 would help but ....No.
Somebody ask you this before ?
Can you help ?

I also had Nexus 7 and I am using HTC Media Link. Unfortunately DLNA does't work when HTC Media Link is in hot spot mode, you need to reconfigure HTC device so it can connect to your wi-fi router, then Nexus 7 can connect too your wi-fi and then Wifi Media can see HTC.

Type IP address in web browser, then http page will open. You can change password and add/change wi-fi network. This is some example how it looks like: tinyurl . com / acbcdo9. I remember I had problem with that - not every wifi security type was working so I couldn't connect. I had currently WPA2-PSK and this is working. WEP should work too.
When you are connected to network you can also update firmware.
With Media Link HD I didn't use 8080 port for web page like they did in article, just default address.

Miracast support???

Guys I got a PTV3000 which allows for widi & miracast wireless display mirroring. I had an Xperia Z which mirrored perfectly but my new HTC one dont ;(. I dont want to spend money on another dongle e.g. HTC Media Link. As the device has the capability. But I have not being able to connect it. 2 questions, will All Share App apk on Samsung work on the One to force it to display? or even an apk of the Mirror link app from Sony. There must be a way to connect it via an apk or something? any help would be welcome.
Google and see if you can get the APK's, install them (Hopefully they will instal) and try it mate, thats all you can really do. . .
All Share is from samsung and will not install on HTC, at least I didn't managed to install it on nexus.
I don't know for mirroring but i've used skifta for streaming media files to tv.
The phone does support Miracast for sure but you just need a app to use it.
I was able to view photos on my LG TV via the Sense gallery but videos would not work, kept saying cannot play back media.
A mirroing app like the Xerpia Z would be cool.
giotecno if you try and install it to your One and it works please share it.
[I sold the Xperia z and didn't extract the apk's so I am stuck. not sure where I am gonna find a program that will enable the miracast to mirror via wireless. what I don't understand is Miracast is going to be a whole standard why limit the phone so it just connects via your own proprietary media link dongle. Mind you with JB 4.2.2 update we might just get the wireless display option to use miracast.

So you can play games on the TV too?
How did you switch on the mirror mode?
After loading the latest firmware on my netgear PTV3000. I rebooted the phone and one it came on went to media out in settings and the device appeared in the list and then just selected it and the mirroring started in a few seconds. works great with videos games etc. there is avery tiny lag but its more than acceptable.

Ah must be my tv then. It don't show up in media out but does in gallery.
Sent from my M7 using Tapatalk 2
Nekromantik try this, make sure your TV is ready for MIracast and is looking for the device. Turn off wifi on phone and then fully power off your HTC Onc and switch back on and then go to Media Output this will enable your Wifi on the phone and hopefully will see the device.

if your TV is DLNA ready then all you need to do is connect the tv and the phone to the same network and you can start streaming video and audio files from your phone.

I to have a "smart tv" (SONY) and have been able to stream music and video with all my other phones but this HTC One... it can't find my TV or Boxee. Have tried to tick the option in advanced wifi settings DLNA auto IP but it does not matter...
Pitty on this nice phone.
I have Samsung smart LED TV and HTC One doesnt work with DLNA.
When I select TV from gallery to mirroring, it gives 500 or 701 errors..
Galaxy note 2, S3 and S4 worked fine with mirroring..

Google Chromcast 2.0 2017

I bought Google Chromecast 2.0 with the hope that I will be able to connect HTC Desire 626 with older Sony Bravia.
On the TV screen I have:
WIKIDISPLAY
version 5.12.00
DLNA (iOS compatible)
(no name) - 192.168.49.1 -> RHXY-529F3C - 192.168.1.9 -> Netiaspot
From HTC Connect:
RHXY-529F3E-ITV (can not connect)
RHXY-529F3E-DMR (connected for dlna)
But nothing changes on the TV screen.
I tried to get something through Google Home but without any result.
When I switched Chromcast to Miracast, I can see the same thing on the Tv screen as on a smartphone, but the connection was always broken, too slow.
Question. How do I get the correct HTC Desire 626 connection with Chromcast 2.0?
