We have lots of ROMs for now: CM, AOKP, Carbon, AICP etc.
Is there a thread here on xda that explains what are the differences between the roms?

They just have different features added on top of cm11. That's it
For knowing differences, have a look at features of each rom and compare. You'll get to knos the difference

A bit wrong there. As DU and AICP are built off of aosp based aokp and Slim. Cm11 is very different in coding and kernels

pretty much settings/user preferences/other things.
CNA has some things, AOKP has some things, they both have some things
and im trying to make CNA more tablet mode orientated since AOKP has more ability to switch between phone/tablet modes easier
Does this have all the bugs which the AOSP ROM has?
Sent from my Galaxy S!
download is VERY slow!!!!!!!!

ICS stunner is based on ICS Euphoria which is based on features from AOKP and CM9. You will have euphoria controls which are a mix of controls from Both
AOKP is the open kang project which is separate from cm9, with its own set of controls and features
Highly recommend you to check both roms out! Fabulous roms!
Super slow download :-(

Can this be used in phone mode 320 DPI without soft keys?

Bugs on x AOSP will be on y AOSP xD This is same base...
But there are a lot of 4.0 roms: AOSP, AOKP or other, and i think many users are lost, because more explications and differencies must be listing between these roms...
God damn pls stops these noob bashing.
It is incredibly. Many of you may not remember that they were sometimes noobs.
Congrats @ Jamie

No worries mate. Its all good, you are always good to ask questions if they confuse you The common bugs which all aosp and aokp roms share are the same because they are all based on Imilkas aosp v6 rom.
But I would recommend you to see the OP with the list of bugs mentioned there too and the aosp bug list as well.
And I recommend you trying the few roms for note, to see which one suits you according to your preference. cheers!
So, what are the differences between these ROM types? Any particular advantages to either of them?

Sounds like they are mostly cosmetical, although choice is good of course. Hopefully we'll have both!

AOSP means android open source project.. Any rom that derivates from that it's an AOSP rom...
AOKP team named their rom that way implying that they are "kanging" AOSP like many people kangs cm7/9/10
Kang means cook a rom based on other people's work so in a way every rom its a "kang" from AOSP, even TW roms as TW its just a "skin" but under the hood its just plain and simple Android.
If a developer doesn't modify the AOSP code they would be releasing Google's roms Wich its stock Android.
But there's differences between cooking and developing and that's why you see 2 sections in development the original Wich should be developers whom modify and support roms straight from AOSP being able of actually fix bugs and issues and the regular development Wich its people that uses kitchens and scrips to create roms.. No actually developing code..
So at the end AOKP its a rom based on AOSP, as cm10 and every single rom that derivates from AOSP, go and check development section in galaxy nexus forum and you will see what's development.. There's no less than 100 different rom's all coded from AOSP.. AOSP is the mother of every rom that exist

The AOSP roms are often unofficial and are made by our cool developers, so there are some features that don't work. But those are usually fixed sooner or later

Hi, may I know what is the difference between AOKP JellyBean and CM10 JellyBean? What I currently know of is that AOKP is a light-weight ROM that is reliant on CM10. Can somebody explain the difference between these two ROMs in detail? Thanks in advance.
PS: Correct me if I'm wrong.

AOKP is a ROM developed from AOSP sources by an Elite team of Kangers across the world. CM10 is a ROM developed from AOSP sources too, by the CyanogenMod team lead by Steve Kondik (Cyanogen). Anyways both ROMs are customized with an aim for adding new features which is not found in AOSP ROMs. Both Projects have their own customizations and tweaks added to their ROMs. CyanogenMod is there from beginning of Android Project I believe, AOKP started from the ICS release. If you need further explanations visit: http://aokp.co/index.php/about and http://www.cyanogenmod.com/about
Above, plus aokp have more customization options
Plus, AOKP are lighter ROM. If you need a 122 MB for CM10, then you will get 90MB (correct me if i wrong) for AOKP

Developers primary is CM10.1 for now.
Cm is based on aosp, any change made on aosp is reflected on cm repo
Yeah, once we have CM 10.1 working... only then we can go for AOSP or Paranoid or other custom ROMs that requires CM as the "Base" ROM...

That isn't true. AOSP, PA etc are built from source!
It's just that they share the device tree. And cm is easier than others
I do not respond to tech support via PM

I'm just a little curious about what they call AOSP. I know about vanilla android, which some guy claimed was the groundwork for all other phones, but what about these other roms. What is the difference between CyanogenMod, SlimRom, Carbon ROM, BeanStalk, AOKP, Paranoid Android, PAC ROM... Etc etc?
AOSP = Android Open Source Project. Pretty much stock or vanilla android.
Those other ones are various versions of android with there own tweaks. Have to try then out to see the difference or Google each one.

So Google has nothing to do with those others listed?
They are based off aosp. Which is googles. They just modified and tweaked it to their liking.
