Any Idea when this will happen. Currently my AT&T store (Orlando, Fl.) only carries 3 colors and all in 16gb. They said you need to do motomaker to get 32gb, but they aren't doing it yet!!! Any ideas??
Go to motorola.com to use the moto maker for at&t . What they mean about not doing it yet is probably them not doing it in store.
It's only available for $149 puchase contract or $549 full price. I want the AT&T next upgrade price.

AT&T motomaker was available at device launch. September 16th.
Go through the steps to put it in your cart on the site and you'll be shown options near the end from ATT regarding your plan.
My daughter tried to purchase a PIN to build the X from an AT&T corporate store in Merrillville IN today (10/12/14) and was told that it is "coming soon". She wants to upgrade on her existing 2 year contract because she is grandfathered into a very low rate per month with unlimited data.
Has anyone actually purchased one using this method?
I've seen various dates, all this month, that in-store codes are supposed to become available. Keep trying them unless you are willing to go with what is offered.

Just wondering if anyone has seen the Moto X in an AT&T store yet? Just curious if the display is out yet or not.

I've been calling every AT&T store in my area for the past week, none of them will have the X on display until tomorrow. Another tidbit of info- apparently only the 16gb version will be available in store at launch, with the 32gb being online only. Kind of a bummer, was really hoping to get my hands on one tomorrow. Gonna have to order it now.

16GB = $579
32GB = $630
32GB is only available through motomaker customization. In-store only the 16GB Black and White units will be available. If you would like to customize, you can walk into an AT&T store and get a SKU card, pay for the phone in full, go online on motomaker and checkout with your customized phone at no extra charge. It will arrive in 4 days.

i believe you can also go straight to motomaker.com and buy outright without having to go to AT&T first.

Thats right, but that ability will not be available starting tomorrow. I have been told by a motorola source that AT&T wants people to come inside the stores and experience the motoX, and as a result, will only give out the customization ability via a SKU card, which you can purchase for the price of the phone ($199/249 or $579/630, whichever method you'd like) and then go on to motomaker.com
However, it wouldn't surprise me if motomaker.com started accepting orders tomorrow without the need for a SKU card. Will just have to wait it out and see.

Yes I know exactly how it's going to work. I was hoping to get a look in store today, before the phone goes on sale. So that I can just order online whenever convenient. But no AT&T store has it on display yet. No biggiee.

i keep hearing over and over that motomaker.com will be up tomorrow (for AT&T only though). so, if you buy a phone through motomaker, it's only going to work on AT&T. but like you said, we'll see tomorrow...
With the unlocked bootloader via moto maker, do you think it will have to be purchased full outright cost or do you think it will be available on contract for a discounted price.

If your on ATT or Tmobile you probably have the option to buy the Pure Edition model. I'm not sure if you can get it on a new contract or upgrade price but I think Moto maker will tell you. They should tell you when you go to check out. Or you can always call your carrier and find out. Hope this helps.
The only one that is unlockable is the XT1095 Pure Edition. It is capable of being unlocked, but is not by default. The Verizon and AT&T ones will have locked bootloaders and cannot be unlocked. That is the tradeoff you have to make for the subsidized price.
Something to note though, is Motorola is doing a 0% interest promotion for 12 or 18 months for purchases through the Motomaker web site. At 18 months this is the same set up that you'd have if you bought the phone on the AT&T Next plan (which basically is an unsubsidized phone with a no interest payment plan).
Trying to figure out if the at&t version will work 100%,no drops, on t-mobile network.
I saw a couple post saying that the tmobile version works on at&t and that the 2 version are almost identical *source needed*. But nothing yet saying it works the other way
Reason is I have a bunch of reward certificates and a gift card for Best Buy, I know the att version is a little more expensive $825 vs $770, but i have enough to offset the difference and still make it cheaper.
Why would you want the att version lol, cost more
No original box
No headphones
No download booster
No unlocked boot loader
I have the same question about whether or not the AT&T Note 4 will work perfectly the same as a T-mobile version on the T-mobile network. I don't know why no one has mentioned how much cheaper it is to just go set up a new AT&T account to get the discount at Best Buy. You could buy it for $300 minus the $200 trade-in promotion + $70 in sales tax. So $170, then you have $40 activation + $60 for one month service + $350 ETF after 15 days, then get it unlocked. So the total out of pocket cost for the AT&T version is $620. Why would you buy the $750 T-mobile version, which would be $815 after sales tax. You save nearly $200 after all is said and done. Am I missing anything here? I haven't seen a single person mention doing this on this forum or over at androidcentral.

You are missing that you have to return the Note 4 to the manufacturer. See http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/returnpolicy.html#fbid=qD17b06g8-s

What does have to do with anything? Ive been lurking around xda since the 1st iphone came out
Well as I said I have a bunch of money in best buy that it would make it cheaper. But, after looking around the att version forum, found out that the bootloader is locked. So im just going to buy one straight from t-mobile, once they get more in-stock
So what if its my first post? I've used these forums for years as a lurker getting info on rooting, starting with my Sprint Epic Touch 4G. I've read all the posts I can on the Note 4, and seriously just wondered why no one discusses starting a new contract to get the phone at such a steep discount. I'm not trolling anyone, although there seems to be way more uneducated/uninformed people on here than usual.

After 15 days into a new contract with AT&T, if you want to cancel your service, you do NOT have to return the phone. To fulfill your contractual obligations, you pay the ETF. That seems to be it. You are stuck with the phone after 15 days if anything goes wrong, and yes, you would have to send it to the manufacturer for any warranty claims. But wouldn't that be the same case if you bought it without insurance anyways?
Back to the original question though, does anyone know of any issues with using the AT&T version on T-mobile once its been unlocked by AT&T? It has band 12 support, but could T-mobile pull some sort of throttling BS for it being an AT&T imei?

It's NOT the t mobile version of the phone, it's their service for some reason.
I get REALLY slow speeds on my t mobile note 4, but when I used an AT&T sim card, LTE was really fast and no PROBLEMS. I can't believe anyone would even consider a NOTE 4 AT&T version....unless they like that $300+ 2 year contract deal.

LOL where did you get the 200 from? that deal ended already...
The deal has been extended at Best Buy until November 1.
So I was getting pretty tired of waiting for Verizon to announce when they will have this phone. I have been checking the Play Store Every Wed but I have not been able to get one. Another option I have is the following
1) Purchase On tmobile online store.
2) Sign up for a 1 Month Post Paid Plan. $55 dollars for SIm and Plan.
3) Cancel Plan after 1 Month.
Does anyone see any issues other than paying an extra $55 for the phone. I do not want to get stuck in a tmobile contract, or should I wait for play store/Verizon/Motorola?
cant you do it using the pre paid visa t mobile cards?

Only if you want the 32GB Version. Was told 64GB version is through online store only and with a post paid plan. I am posting this question to see if someone has done it with the pre paid cards to contradict what the rep told me. I do not want to try it and then be out even more money lol .
Good luck getting one from t-mobile period. They are all backordered.
Really the stores near me had plenty of 32GB. 64GB is not saying sold out but no idea what the shipping date will be
I bought the N6 on pre-order from AT&T using NEXT. It shipped out when AT&T said it would and came overnight, all was great. When I received the first bill, both my N6 and my wife's S5 were listed on contract instead of the NEXT program. I never made a down payment when buying the phone and the confirmation email says it was on the NEXT program. Clearly AT&T made a mistake. I used chat and was instructed to take said paperwork and go to my local store and they could fix everything. But now i'm wondering if I can just pay the EFT of $325 per phone instead of full retail? And if so, can I keep my AT&T service, or do I need to hassle with porting my number out and back in?
What say you?

You'd need to run this by ATT, but ETF (early Termination fee) is applied only when you "terminate" your service with ATT.
After talking to customer service, they have no problem with me paying the $325 ETF, and keeping service. They said i would then get the $25 per line discount since i'm on the 10 GB plan. I'll report back with my actual results. I don't have the coin this week to pay it.
