Problem with phone - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Phone was great for the first week or so. Now when hooked to my car and I am talking the Bluetooth disconnected every 3 mins then hooks up again. I have to hold phone because when it disconnects I have to use ear piece for a few seconds. I'm getting messages unfortunately dialer has stopped working. Now my phone will shut off and I have to hold on button for 10 to 15 seconds and sometimes it will start sometimes I have to do it several times. Any thoughts

If you are on ART switch back to dalvik. I had issues while running on ART as well and also saw other users having issues. ART should be good to go when 5.0 gets pushed to us.

Is it on art by default

In Standby, screen is on, but dark

Does anyone know why sometimes when I come back to my phone, the backlight is on, but the screen is dark;ie displaying black pixels and therefore draining my battery. I haven't isolated possible reasons, but missed calls might be one. Highly annoying.

Same problem, uninstalled "screen off and lock " end never get the problem again but I'm not sure that screen off was the problem.
Hm, I don't have that app installed. It may be popular notifications from what's app...

Happened to me once as well because of Google Talk notification. Pretty sure that's a software bug that'll get resolved in 4.2
Mine does this too. Thought it was whilst charging but seems to be random.

Reboot

Hey everyone. I never owned a phone where you can't pull the battery but I was wondering how do you a reboot or battery pull on the Moto X?

Holding down the power button on a phone like this usually works and if not power button and down volume is typically a true hard reset. It's not quite as powerful as a battery pull as there is still potential for it to not work but you have to really break it for that to be the case.
Hold the power button and down volume buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds does a simulated battery pull.

Screen shot is there something I'm missing.

Not a major issue but just curious as to why the stock screen shot does not work in a lot of apps but does in some? I've already fixed by using a mod in xposed but would really like to know for my own curiosity. Or maybe I'm just missing something or doing it wrong but it's vol ⬇ and power at same time correct?

Yea hold down the power button and volume down at the same time for a second or two. Also you can use the quick memo option.
Working on d959 you have to "one finger it" making sure your finger is spread evenly between the two buttons. If all fails use xposed framework to put it on your power menu.

I'm an idiot and I'm half asleep I'm sure I saw something on this before though... I'll get back to you.

Top speaker bar

Anyone notice that the black bar that sits in the top speaker grill will wiggle up and down if slightly pushed on? Me bottom speaker bar is tight and does not move. My n6 is in mint condition. Thanks to those who don't mind checking theirs to give me some input.

Wondered if it was common or something that has occurred over time. I've never noticed it before. Did u notice this when it was new? I have mine 7 months. It may have been this at when new though.

I think because the top one has 2 speakers and an LED underneath, the bar cannot be affixed across its full length like the bottom one can
Makes sense

Internet taking forever to load?

Can anybody help me? Since I've rooted and flashed Clean Rom (witch I know it's not Scotts Rom) My Internet takes 30-45 seconds to load any page. Can someone with patients pleas help me. I don't know how to Oden back and start all over if that is even the problem. It seems like when I go to settings, networks, and switch from global to any of the other 3 options it works temporarily but then back to it's usual self after awhile. Any ideas?

Are you running adaway? I had the same problem while using it. There were also a few apps that wouldn't work until I uninstalled it.

Yes I am. I just installed it last night. So maybe the problem will return then. That sucks. How do you uninstall an apk? Can I do that threw app manager?
Sent from my SM-G925V using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
Yeah you can uninstall through the app manager. Make sure you revert to default host files before you uninstall though

Just a quick FYI, I was about to delete the Ad Away because my Internet and was crawling again. I seen there was an update within the app to udate some files. Gave it a shot and wow the Internet is fast again. So maybe you can give it another shot!

The host files are updated often. One day the files may work fine. Next update may break Internet and apps again. Too much of a hassle for me. If it works for you then that's great.

My Pandora, & Beats Music apps keep freezing and closing. Do you think it might be Ad Away?
Sent from my SM-G925V using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
More than likely. There were quite a few apps that either wouldn't start or would crash while I was using it. Only way to find out is to run those apps without adaway.
