Are there any stable releases planned? Or do I have to try my luck with the weeklys, if I want to uodate?
Cheers, o

Has anyone got persistent SDcard notification always showing in status bar after reboot..
It will not disappear until you reboot again.
(Below screenshot of persistent sdcard icon)
As previous comments was advised to update su binary, I did that & pushed super su app into
/system. But no luck...

Hi peeps.
Can someone direct me to Gapps package for slim 4.2 builds..??
Any links.
I looked at slimroms website but could locate onset begins of Gapp packages (flashing slim 4.2)
# sent from a blazing slim SGSi9000 using tapatalk 2 #

Error
Won't boot after install.

The slim Gapps aren't TRDS anymore?? I downloaded the Addons for 4.4 and they're all light themed. i'm on Spirit Rom. Did I miss something or they changed it?

Hi peeps..
Just a quickie..
Anyone know from which slimbean or slimkat build was the "theme engine" theme manager removed..??
If I'm correct previous versions of slimbean had the theme engine within the rom..
After flashing 4.4.2-v5 there is no theme manager anymore..
I've looked everywhere within settings but cannot find it anywhere, or am I not looking in the right place..
Can someone please help..??

Updating from slimbean 3.1.0
Hi Guys. Its been a long time since I updated my i9000 and I'm wondering what I need to do to get from my current ROM to the 4.4.2 stable build 5.
Currently my i9000 is running the old slimbean 3.1.0 (Android 4.1.2) and I updated CWM recovery in ROM manager to attempt install of the the latest stable but I got the status 7 error message
I did the factory reset, wipe cache and in mounts and storage section format system before attempting to flash the ROM but got above error
So I then did a recovery restore from backup I made just before attempting this update and I'm back to where I was
Where should I go from here? I've tried finding info on status 7 error msg. One search result suggested modifying the updater script to bypass this check but I'm not sure this is the best thing to be doing? I wouldnt want to brick the phone
EDIT: Okay I figured it out after a bit of trial and error. Had to run slimkat ROM zip then goto advanced and reboot to recovery again. and then re-run ROM zip and then it succeeded.
I then had issues with Gapps missing google services but after more trial and error (Mutliple reinstall attempts with different Gapps addons) got that working by installing latest weekly 4.4.4 and the mini 4.4.4 Gapps

4.4.2.build.5
I've just successfully installed 4.4.2 to my I9000. I'm impressed with high speed.
Setup which works fine:
Kernel: Semaphore_KK_3.4.2.tar + Odin3 v1.85
KitKat: Slim-galaxysmtd-4.4.2.build.5-OFFICIAL-4079.zip
Gapps: Slim_mini_gapps.4.4.4.build.8.x-385.zip
EnJoY!

Hi,
Seems that build 9 for galaxysmtd has been taken off from the website, or am I blind?
Does someone have the package? My aim is to get Phoneutil working somehow, and check if the USB port is set to PDA (my usb doesn't get recognized by computer atm)
Cheers,

@weazie your not blind, Slimroms have literally removed weekly build 9.0 for the i9000. i used it for a while and test other roms, after a week i decided to return and the rom was no where to be found, someone out there must have a backup of it..

Hello.
Do you have any idea how to activate Logcat? It's not working for me.

Need HELP
Hi,
I hope people here are still active...
I have a GT-I9000 to fix for my friend's dad. It is currently on Galaxian ROM 2.3.4 and having slowness issue. I looked around and found that this SlimROM may be the solution for this phone. I'm looking at flashing Slim-galaxysmtd-4.4.2.build.5-OFFICIAL-4079 with mini GAPPS directly after wiping out data, cache, etc.
EDIT:
I just flashed Semaphore 2.7.4 through Odin3 v.183 and it was successful.
HOWEVER, I couldn't flash anything on CWM. I am getting below errors:
E:failed to open /etc/recovery.fstab (No such file or directory)
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]

E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/last_log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
After a few searches, it seems that I might have messed up the partitions. Still looking for solutions...

Custom Roms & Instagram issue
So far, I have tried a dozen of ROMs on my i9000 but Slimkat is by far the best.
No other ROM is more stable and reliable with so many functionalities. I especially like it that I can flip between the quick settings and notifications pages. And it is awesome that there is the inbuilt option to customize the hardware buttons! ...
And now the Instagram problem:
I have searched all over the internet You cannot upload a video to Instagram. It always fails on a custom ROM (fails immediately or stops halfway). It's been suggested that it is the phone's camera and its enhanced resolution, which differs from the stock, that causes this problem. Is there a way to fix this? For example, is it possible to flash the stock camera to get around it?

I may have an idea about how to fix your problem.
It is possible that you may have not rooted your stock ROM correctly.
You must place only the cf-root file in the PDA section. No bootloader or any other files should be ticked.
Here's what you should do:
1. Again flash a stock ROM on your phone using ODIN.
2. Root your device without ticking bootloader, phone or csc and leave other options as is.

M110s support?
can i use this rom on m110s?

I have flashed sucessfully but theres a problem ! Help
My wifi dosent workt or dosent even enable in setup :crying:I have flashed slim kat 4.4.2 and gapps 4.4.2 and I have GT19000M GKG3 IF STOCK.

Pretty easy fix. I compared the recovery.fstab on the inc with the one on the toro. The problem is the incredible's recovery.fstab doesn't work on the new cwm. All I had to do was pull the NULLs and second device and file system out. Each line should have three columns. I made those changes and built it, booted it with fastboot and then some basic tests. I did a backup, factory reset, confirmed they were wiped, formatted system in mounts and storage, confirmed it was cleared, then restored and confirmed that it would boot.
If anyone's interested, I'll post my build in the morning and push my changes to recovery.fstab then as well.
Yeah i fixed it my self too. I also changed the background to the standard black, as the grey really bugged me for some reason. I used cwm for a long time. But now that twrp is around, it has become my recovery of choice. It has a better ui, more features, and backs up and restores faster. Twrp also gets frequent updates, and cwm seems to have ceased to provide updates for the incredible. I didnt look into the mechanics of this recovery vs previous versions, what is so different or better about it than previous cwm's?
I'm a TWRP user as well. The advantages of this one primarily are incremental and faster backups. The incremental backup feature is one I wish TWRP has. It basically allows you to make small backups with only the changes from the previous backup to save space if you keep multiple backups of a ROM. If you use nandroids to switch ROMs, the benefit is reduced as the differences in the ROMs are larger leading to larger backups.

Can anyone find the CWM version with the "create image zip" feature? I would like to get this for the DINC. https://plus.google.com/u/0/103583939320326217147/posts/R4v7AFwzG6k
*EDIT* Nevermind, check next post, I think I got it figured out.
I just updated to 6.0.3.2 with touch enabled, not sure if it is fully functional yet, but it seems ok. I'm uploading the image and the fastboot zip file for the lazy like me.
Here's the latest CWM recovery. It may come in handy for flashing kitkat.
I'm not sure how to get the touch enabled recovery.
How do you use a img?

FAQ N°10
Ah OK sorry that I not read the faq correctly it's the update binary. Iodak must changed it or we do it by ourselves to flash kernel
Dear Philz,
The issue is specific to the recovery bcz Iodak v9 can be flashed through the cwm touch recovery 6.4.4, no status 7 error.
I have tested this with both your recovery and cwm.

Kanad

[Q] Failed Makay ROM install

I've tried to install new Makay 4.4 ROM (based on CM).
My base rom was Makay 4.2.2 final ROM, so I updated kernel to semaphore 3.4.0, did full wipe and during rom install got error: (status 0).
Next I've panicked and flashed to 3 parted 2.3.6 - phone booted.
So I've tried once again with 3.4.0 kernel, got stuck on semaphore loading screen and after taking battery out I managed to go into CWM.
Did wipe as told, tried to install 4.4 rom and ended up with:
E: Unable to mount /data
E: Unable to mount /system
Should I wait more than 15 mins on semaphore screen to load? Is there a way to install this rom on my phone, or my i9000 isnt ready for that change yet?

Now every single attempt to install ROM thorough the CWM or TWRP diffrent than 3parted 2.3.6 return errors:

E: Unable to mount /system
So I guess the solution won't be that simple

Did you perform a „factory reset” wipe? Changing ROMs kind of requires you to - a factory reset wipes the old sd-ext, and you still have it.
And are you sure you downloaded the right ROM? I can't access the RR site now, but they don't have ROMs for Thea.
What phone do you have, actually?

I have xt1045 4g
I've done all the procedures to install the rom .
but gave those mistakes.
try putting on a rom 5.1 stock xt1045 according to what I found here on xda but I do not install it .
the phone did not stay at the logo and not as most do.
Then you need to flash this ROM: CM Peregrine
Or this one: RR Peregrine
