I have 2 Moto G @ND Generation and the Screen has 2 different screen panels altogether. One has a yellow tint and other has the blue tint on screen. I had last gen Moto G also but it did not faced such issues. This time Motorola really has cut corners to achieve that price point.
I checked the same with other Moto G 2nd generation too. Almost most of them have a blue tint on it.

Just compare to any phone and check the white background on each
You may get similar device I asked for a replacement because it had backlight bleeding too, now in the replacement one bleeding is gone yellow stays. And as it is bought on big billion day no refund too . but yellow is not that bad as it does not hamper any functionality.
Yeah, same here, got brand new from amazon, screen was kind of dim, compared to 2013 model, so I asked replacement. Got new one, this one screen was much more worst and yellow too.
So I sent the last one back, and kept the first one, however, I'm still not happy with the screen. Maybe I wait few months and ask another replacement.
My Moto g display occasionally show yellow shade but return to normal stage soon
I suspect it has some relation to auto brightness. When coming from direct sunlight this issue occurred two three times. but when i restarted phone display become normal again
First remove stock screen guard cause some screen guards have brown/yellow tint
After removing stock screen guard, do we need to put up another screen guard.. Or gorilla glass 3 can handle the daily wear- tear ??

Ask for replacement.
I have purchased my moto 2014 from flipkart and shipped on 26th dec. Just yesterday I found my screen to be little yellowish.. I requested for replacement they saud their expert will call me but havnt received any call from flipkart!
Keeping that aside I wan to know if they will have problem to replace the phone as I have got it on 26th Dec so I used it for around 3 days! Orr they will just replacement? Anybody suffering from yellow tinted screen problem got a replacement phone ?? Share your experience please.. I'm really worried about my phone help me

Don't worry, Gorilla Glass 3 will protect your screen. I have tested phone's screen with knife & keys.

The Legends screen is glass, which is _very_ resistant to scratches.
You'd literally have to put it in a bag of keys and shake it, to scratch it....and even then, there's a fair chance that the screen didn't get severely damaged.

Yes, i can confirm this. The screen is extremely rigid, no plastic here. But this is confusing to me as i have seen in reviews when they pushed on the screen there was visible flex to it. I guess there was some kind of demo device that had a diffrent screen then the final model.
im not going to try and scratch my screen but if its the same as on the nexus one, then i can belive that the screen is extremely durable.
I have had the device for 4 days and not a singel mark on it, even fingerprins are difficult to se and it extremely smooth surface, with realy low friction compared to most plastic.
Wow..
Now thats spells C. O. O. L.

I to thought that the Legends screen was glass & would take some scratching but it seems not. My Son has had his legend for 5 day & has barley taken it out of the house, it has been in his jeans pocket, with no keys, money etc in & the screen now has 4 light scratches on it. It also seems that the AMOLED screens brightness really exaggerates these scratches, to the point for me that I would need to get it replaced. Hes really upset that his new baby has a battle scar already & do feel sorry for him
So its if you wanna take the chance then go for it, but I for one will be getting a screen protector for my desire when Vodafone finally get there act together & ship my phone!
Cheers
Stuart

On another website (I cannot link to the image as a new user) I saw a picture of a legend that was dropped on a tile floor. The screen was cracked and looked suspiciously glass-like .
Hi All. My note had been in a case from day one. Over the last few weeks I noticed two tiny cracks in the plastic thin edge between the screen glass and the alloy edge strip!
It almost looks like the note he's flexed and cracked the plastic but it can't have done as I never put it in my trouser pocket, always my jacket.
It only seems to be on the power button edge side too.
The issue I have is I have the SuperNexus room on it so not sure about how the warranty goes.... theoretically software doesn't effect hardware cravings so I think it's OK to expect a warranty fix?
Advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Your Warranty might fix your phone (because in some countries the Warranty only covers Factory Mistakes or Issues). Doesnt matter what rom or kernel have in your note, because its a hardware problem, not soft. But you won't lose nothing if you call to Samsung (or your carrier) and tells what's your problem!
Good Luck! And sorry for my bad english. Greetings from Argentina!

I noticed the same on my white Note... I never saw the cracks on my previous black Note though. I don't know if white's are prone to this defect or blacks simply camouflage the tiny cracks better.
I will take my Note for warranty and will see if I can exchange it for a black Note instead.
Cheers!

Thanks for the replies. Will pop it in to an O2 store and see what they say!

I am having the black note. But unfortunately even I have observed the cracks. I don't think they will exchange it under the warranty, since it can be considered as a physical damage.

The IncREDible S
Hi all
I want to share my project The Incredible S. It's not finished this time, but is going to be in the next days.
A friend has dropped his phone out while he was driving his motorbike. The result of this little accident was a completly destroyed IncS-Housing:
{

}
My friend bought a new phone and gave the IncS to me.
The Idea
I decided to buy a new housing, the phone itself was fully working and the screen was not broken. I searched on eBay for some housings and found a red one that looked very nice. I fall in love with this and bought it.
The Assembling
After 3 weeks of wating for shipping my housing, I began to disassemble the Incredible and build it into the new housing.
That was sometimes difficult, especially the screen that was glued with a ton of glue and sticked to the housing and was very hard to remove.
But I also handled this hard part and assembled my new red Incredible S that will replace my black Incredible S.
The Failing :silly:
But the first try failed: After some days of using my phone, I recognized a screen lift. The glue isn't sticking anymore and dirt went between glass and display. Also i destroyed the display a little bit: It wasn't illuminated everywhere the same.
And the tip of the iceberg: I killed the digitizer, a have about a half cm in the bottom part that doesn't work anymore.
As summary: The housing looks nice, but thats all. I have a phone that looks good but can't do really much (like the iPhone )
The never giving up (aka the second try)
So I again ordered a red housing, but this time with a new display (Glass and Display as one part, they hold together now).
Add 23.12.2012:
Today I tried to build my Red phone as the display/glass/digitizer and the red case arrived. The button light is taken from the other case, since there are still working fine.
Before I built the Screen into the case, I tested the functionality of the phone and digitizer without any case. Sadly, I killed my button lights with my dissasembling from the old case.
Now I'm awaiting some new button lights and hope that I can have my complete red Incredible S this year.
What do you think about my project? Do you think red is a good color for a phone? Would you have yourself a red phone?
P.S. I know my english is not good, I had a hard day at School and my brain is now too f****ed up to write something english with correct gammar and so on...
Sounds interesting, good luck. I also dropped my phone 1 week ago, screen was fine but the casing has a little scratch(not like yours posted in picture, mine is barely noticable).
Let me know how it goes I am curious as I might replace mine too in future if I drop it more .
Looks cool bud. You didn't order a new digitizer? Or did you order a new LCD and glass and digitizer?

I remember when I dropped my phone on the street and scratched the whole front... I'm glad HTC replaced the front because of a motherboard problem and a broken vibrator (sounds weird but I know no other name).
The red housing looks nice.

I ordered the complete package: display, digitizer and glass.
The costs for the housing and the display and digitizer and glass was about 70 swiss francs.
Still cheaper than a new phone.

So today I tried to build my new IncREDible S.
But again I failed... The screen and digitizer was working fine, but I had to take out the button lights from my first try and sadly killed them. Now I have a case, a Screen with digitizer(and glass) and a mainboard wo isn't in any case and now I'm awaiting some new button lights...

Because the housing has some glue in it. And when I disassemble and reassemble, the glue doesn't stick as good as it did. So I bought a new housing.
And the housings and displays were chepaer then a new phone: 70swiss francs vs 450-600 swiss francs for a new phone.

I seem to have a spec of something in the screen, I just noticed it yesterday. I'm 100% sure it was not there before as its on the white part of the gmail icon on my homescreen, so if it was there before I would have noticed it.
I'm also pretty certain it's not a dead pixel as it appears above the text on my screen. Also if I position some text so the corner or edge of a letter just touches it, it seems to shift if I look at it in different angles which would indicate its not a pixel but something above the actual LCD panel.
Not sure how to explain this better, but I have seen LCDs with dead pixels, something behind the LCD panel, and something between the LCD and glass, and this definitely looks like it something above the lcd.
The thing is, the Xperia Z LCD panel is meant to be bonded directly to the LCD, so there is no air gap, so theoretically nothing can get between the LCD and the glass.
Anyway, I just ordered a usb microscope (always wanted one anyway) which should arrive tomorrow so I can get a better look at this and figure out what is going on.
Just really bugging me at the moment, also heard that sony has been refusing repairs on Xperia Z with less than 3 faulty pixels, so also worried if it is indeed a pixel.
OK, it is definitely dust or something in my screen, I have tried shining a bright LED into the screen and I can see a speck with the screen off, exactly where the the black spec shows up on my screen is on.
I thought the whole lcd was meant to be bonded to the screen removing the whole of the air layer. as shown on sony's website.
Anyone have similar issue? or know about if there is indeed a gap between the lcd and the glass?
Well, no one seems interested in this thread, but here goes anyway. Just in case someone does have same issue later on:
usb microscope arrived today and here are the pictures:

Under 500X
It clearly shows that its not a dead or stuck pixel. there is definitely something between the LCD and the glass. Which would mean that there is a gap between the LCD and the front glass. I thought that there isn't a gap as the LCD is bonded to the glass.
Have to find time to take it to sony and see what they say I guess.

Thankfully there are people who share their problems even when no one was intetested like in this thread I am curious how this issue end up for the dust owner Well, I have bought Z1 Compact and it seems I'm facing the same problem. Firstly, I thought that maybe dead pixel appeared after few days but can't be - that black spot is seen even when the screen is turned off. It's very small but for me makes huge difference.
Hello everyone!!
I need help quickly! I have the same problem with my XZ, i have dust under the digitizer (only visible on white and green light), if I send it on RMA, will they change the screen and digitizer (I heard somewhere that they need to do that because it's sticked together), or just clean the dust?
Thanks in advance

Sony took it in for repair, took them nearly 3 weeks but ended up giving me a new phone (different IMEI and newer manufacturing date). Not quite sure why I got a new phone but it was all good!

They told me that the front of the phone with lcd and digitizer gets replaced as it's all one part.
Hi guys
Middle and right button is not working.
Left and FP is working.
LCD is fine.
I've been looking in Ali and most of cheaper front packages doesn't came with FP. The ones that has, its the triple of the price. (half of the MI5s price)
I would like to know if anyone had already changed only the front glass? Does anyone know where I can find it?

Think you gonna have to get a whole screen assembly, don't think it's very easy to just replace only the digitizer
Plus the integrated fingerprint sensor and a curved screen. Any repair is going to be both expensive and difficult. I guess you have to live with it or replace the phone unless you REALLY want to get it repaired.
Hey,
have you found something already? Where do you live?
I also crashed the left bottom corner of my screen. At first the buttons still worked, but then they started acting crazy, pressing randomly.
I asked a local repair shop here in Taipei and they quoted about US$ 115. But I don't remember which parts they would replace.
I found it a bit pricey, so now I'm using the apps "buttons remapper" (de-activate "back" and "home") and "soft buttons". Works quite well. Just need to re-activate both after every ROM update.
Cheers,
Linus X.

My Mi5s buttons are crazy too.
Where I live, I couldn't find a place to replace it.
I only found on AliExpress. but I read that you need to buy a Fingerprint sensor too. And it seems that its not easy to stick correctly on screen.
I'm using Pie Controls while I'm thinking what to do.
Maybe I'll buy this screen and FP on Ali. If I do, I'll write here!
Why is the Gorilla glass/Concore glass not protecting the screen?
And?
Any progress? I've got similar problem. My screen is broken, but from what i've found I have to buy screen together with FP if i want FP to work correctly. Do you have any source where I can buy them together? (and it's not fake?)
I got my replacement screen from this store on aliexpress:
link
FP and everything is working perfectly, only the lcd seems to be a bit slower
In case anyone is interested in my display repair experience:
I had my display replaced for about USD 85 by a local repair shop. Afterwards I found out that the fingerprint scanner doesn't work anymore and they went like "of course, how come you didn't know that?". Pretty outrageous customer service if you ask me.
They said they used an original screen from Xiaomi (took over 2 weeks to order), but I feel like the glass is totally flat, not slightly bent as the original one. And recently the capacitive buttons sometimes seem less responsive.
Conclusion: next time I'd try to get it repaired by the manufacturer, or live with the damaged screen if that's too expensive.
Cheers,
Linus X.

That price seems too good to be true. However if I had a crashed screen I would give it a go. Anyone replaced a screen himself so far?
Apparently the Mi5s does not have a "Gorilla Glass" screen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q_A0a1nkbM
Guys. First the video is a Mi 5 and not a Mi 5s. Second the Display for 25 bucks posted by @derdigga does not have the fingerprint sensor included. So if you don't want to loose that function, look for screen that have the digitizer as well as the fingerprint sensor included. In best case it's already glued into the frame. That makes the assembly much easier as you don't have to glue the screen by yourself.
Another note on my repair experience: I dropped the phone from like 30cm onto fairly hard carpet. Since then the lower part of the display isn't glued in properly, so at night I can see the leds shine through between case and screen at the bottom. Went back to the store, they just added some glue. Few days later the tiny gap is back again.
Kinda sad for such a nice phone!
Linus X.
from my experience, the replacement screens for the Mi5s doesn't have the fingerprint sensor SO forget about it if you want a replacement screen.
My problem after replaced the screen is that i have really bad gps signal.
Anyone else faced this problem?
Does the home button work even if the fingerprint scanner is not installed?
Yes, the home button works as it is capacitive.
