I got my phone bricked! Recovery does not work. All i can see is GT-7000 with triangle samsung logo. Can't even see samsung glowing logo. But download mode is working. What should i do now to not get my phone bricked totally?
Bricked when i flashed new rom. I did full wipe/cache/dalvik cache. Problem was not there. Something with recovery itself. When i flashed previous rom recovery changed from PhilZ-cwm6 to CMW 5.5 and i tried flashing rom with it. Why recovery changed with new rom install?!??
Odin. Back to GB and start again. If you get stuck at factory fs you may want to try the revive method posted in general.

Ok first, you need recovery back. I assume you know how to use PC Odin? You do? good:good:
You need to download a stock ICS kernel. Get one (any will do) in Tar format from Dr. Ketan here.
Now download one of Philz Temp recovery's from here (again any will do.)
You need to get Philz temp recovery onto external SD card and put it back into your Note. (Old phone?, Camera?, Card reader?....)
Done that? Excellent!
OK, now flash stock ICS Tar file in PC odin. (put it in PDA box).
Reboot into recovery, "apply update from external storage" and select the temp Philz recovery.
The recovery will now miraculously change to Philz 6.0.1.4
Now select "restore" and choose the file that you backed up on Philz before.
When the operation completes, reboot phone. You will be back on ROM from when you did original Philz backup.:good:

Ok. Flashed kernel. Pass! I got into recovery and there is lot of error. They says
E:failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/log
....
...
about 12 of these
Is it safe to flash recovery or i should do something more?
And other thing is https://www.dropbox.com/s/qkx2z5auzxg8k0j/20121103_113422.jpg
I shutters. Is this ok? I now just flashed N7000XXLPYkernel. Recovery works.
Try flashing the temp recovery and see what happens (its safe)
You may have corrupted partitions, We can address that if temp recovery boots.

Theoretically factory reset wont brick, even on stock recovery. But don't do that just yet, time for a different approach, just wait, back soon...

OK now go here and download Samsung_Wipe_Data_System_Cache_2.0-signed.zip get it onto external SD card and flash from stock recovery. If it works, try flashing temp recovery again.

Yes, quite right, but I was trying to see where the problem is. And it looks like Data partition is bricked. I feel doing GB through Odin will just get stuck (classic superbrick symptom).
Lets see how he goes....
just flash any 2.3.5 or 2.3.6
from the thread you following. and let us know if it passes in odin

I received a failed status with an error mounting /system and /systemorig message. I rebooted ss and received the same errors. I robot system and what do you know, instead of a bootloop, I got visix starting up like a fresh install. I know this has to do with the inability to access /system. If any of you guys can help me out it would be highly appreciated. BTW visix team your rom is awesome, so I don't mind being stuck on it until I can get it resolved. thanks a bunch you guys

Try rerooting. It might help. Also you want to full wipe the system, data, cache, and davilk, just to be on the safe side. Everything but external card.

When I first did it I did do advance wipe with everything except SD card selected. I did the towelroot again but no avail. Would I have to fully stock it through download? Man or should I try the Ota update?
Do not update if you have the chance. I would restore in Odin if you don't have the chance to try the re root.

When you say rerooting do you simply mean rerunning towelroot? Or is there another method I can try? I currently am rooted still Idk if that matters. Thanks for the help rbedell.
After installing different roms you can lose root. Just run the towel root again, reboot OS, reinstall Safestrap. Might not be your problem though. If not Odin the AP file of your current android version.

It didn't make a difference. I won't have access to a computer to use odin until tomorrow, but I will post back with results then:good:. Thanks for the help rbedell.
I had the same problem yesterday with Dynamin Cat. At first I downloaded it with my comp and transferred it to my SD card and I would get the " failed " sign when flashing it. Either it was a corupt download or got messed up when transferring it to my SD card. Either way I re downloaded it with my phone and saved it directly to my sd card and it worked fine that way.

Hello, i want to go back to stock rom on my galaxy s5. I am not bricked or anything like that. Every tutorial i look at, it involves using odin, and i cannot do that. I am on the Extreme Debloat ATT V1 running 4.4.2 kitkat. I don't have a md5 file to flash yet because i do not want to download a wrong file and screw up my phone. I don't have a computer at the time, so is there any way i can just download the file straight from my phone and copy it to root and go to recovery and wipe the device and then flash? thank you.

Go back, it means you are already rooted and that, so why don't you just go to recovery and wipe/delete etc, and launch your system
normally, then connect to the internet and download a stock image (.zip), put it on your external sd card, go back to recovery and flash it.
I hope that helped you cause that what I could get from your post,
Best Regards.

Well, I did some looking around, apparently Heimdall can extract the pit via adb. Gave that a shot and it looked like it worked. I then downloaded the auto root archive in this thread and extracted it down to the cache/recovery files and attempted to flash. No such luck. I may have to use Windows as I didn't have these problems with the Verizon version of the S5. Thanks for trying to help though!
Edit: So, to my amazement, I installed twrp and it asked if I wanted to run scripts to root my phone. I made a backup beforehand and let it run the scripts. I have full root now and everything seems to be working fine. Props to the wonderful twrp devs!

Ok what you need to do is download the tool SAMFIRM in the general thread. fill in the model and region which will be SM-T700 and KOO in region section . wait for it to download once it says decrypt finished extract tar from zip with winrar then flash tar in Odin. Once odin has flashed it then tab reboots put it into stock recovery, hold home button volume up and power button together and hold for 4/5 seconds then let go. wipe data factory reset then let it boot. Enjoy
Why the need to wipe data/reset? Samsung stock upgrades are always compatible with the previous data.

Most likely just needed dalvik wiping.
I would dirty flash, boot then wipe data only if necessary.
Factory reset was the first option I seen in stock recovery. Not used to being in stock recovery normally twrp
I am trying to flash it with Flashfire due to keep rooted.
Had to to wipe factory reset from recovery.
Good Lock works fine, but appears a little thin
Just reroot after flashing via Odin if flash fire don't work

If you've backed it up on a external device then yes sure. You will need to reroot after flashing this though.

It means nothing. The Tab S didn't support this warning until MM, so nothing was required to remove it.
It's trivial for me to remove it, but more hassle than its worth considering it means nothing.
I actually prefer to have it as it clearly indicates Iam booting into recovery.
