Hi friends.
I have just bought the ridiculously stunning Moto G 2nd gen (dual SIM) and I am hunting for a flip shell. I am looking to see if anyone can post a photo of what the "Lemon and Lime" 2nd gen flip shell looks like? I see photos on the net - most are yellow, but then... yellow != "lemon and lime" - yellow = LEMON.
Any help gratefully received, thank you and God bless you
You can check the official Motorola website for all of the colors of shells available (with pictures) on the Accessories section.
I can't link you to it since I'm a new user :c
I have that flip shell and it's lime green.

That was the first place I looked - the colour they showed for the 1st gen "Lemon and Lime" flip shell was dull yellow, but on an independant blog, the very same one was BRIGHT, almost NEON lime green, as kill_master has alluded to. If Motorola themselves can't take a photo with an accurate colour representation, then I can't trust their marketing images

... and is it THIS colour (below), in the hand? (last gen flip shell photo, just using the colour as reference):
Thank you - I don't want to waste time and money, if not. So you'd say it's a "highlighter marker pen" flourescent green colour...?

It's a mix between the first pic and the last one. It's not yellow and it's not green. And yeah, I have the gen2 moto g.

Is it more green than yellow, though? Thanks again - apologies if I sound fussy... I *am* when it comes to shades of my favourite colour
It's my favourite colour too. I can't tell if it's more green than yellow. It has the same amount of both I guess. I'd take a picture, but I don't have a way to do it at the moment. I'll try to post a picture next to white normal shell in the daylight so you can see.
Be careful when you order these covers. The colors aren't the most accurate. I ordered the red one, and when i got it, the color was more pinkish red. Dayum!

I was looking through XDA site and it just dawned on me how black all the smartphones are! Isn't there any other colours suitable for smartphones or is it plain lack of creativity from the part of the phone companies? Or do they think all the smartphone users are boring geeks? I am tired of looking throught a list of black phones! I like the colours on Sony equipment.
I don't want boring white Magnolia (iphone?) either.
I'm bored!
Completely agree!
We should at least have the option of what color we want like when buying a car
We are paying a lot of $ for a new devices and agree, black is ok but we should have options!
I personally prefer my device being black, looks more professional and normal.
How's this for an option?

Ferrari red but with subtlety?
My neighbours' Audi colour? It is kind of ice or iron?
Or some of the Sony colours?
Or, maybe if I am really, really bored something this colour!
I probably would not lose it or people would always see it!
I'm kinda into Sky Blue...if u know what I mean
personally i prefer black as it looks elegant and professional.......
but you can have decent options like white, metallic silver etc
which do not look too childish or stupid
Why is black always considered "professional" or "elegant" ?
Is it because it reminds people of a suit? Or because your bum does not look big in it?
Or is it because it can hide a lot of flaws?
A design needs to be very good to look sleek in colour but a sameish weak design in black can get a thumbs up! Why is that? Lazy design?
Let's go colour the world! Let's put smiles on faces!
I got a moto X a week or so ago and have notice faint lines running mostly vertically but also horizontally in the display, mostly visible in solid grays and white. I did my research and know that this is an issue with the manufacturing process of this generation of AMOLED, but I'm wondering if this will be prevalent in every single moto x or if it's just that some are worse than others (worth an exchange?)? Coming from an HTC M8 on another carrier, the fact that these solid colors look so weird with the line running through them is very disappointing (otherwise I actually like the phone better). I'll post a picture when I get a chance.

I just filled my screen with white looking for these lines and couldn't find anything. Probably a defect. Contact Motorola.
Easiest ways see it is to download the LCD test app and display full screen gray. If you don't see it, then I definitely have an issue because it looks like a textured background rather than solid color.

Alright, thanks. Guess I'll be asking for a replacement.
Here are a few pics of my display for reference (hard to see on camera, but you can see cross-hatching in the lower area of the zoomed out pic and vertical lines in the close-up).

I found another forum describing it accurately as a linen-like appearance to the display rather than clear rendering. Very strange. In contact with Motorola now.

That's annoying. I may try to get one replacement to confirm this as I can't seem to find any display models locally anymore. I didn't like the display on my GS3 when I owned that and my latest foray back into amoled has been disappointing again.
Hello everyone
actually it is not a problem but your opinions is very important to me
and please if this topic is off-forum , i will appreciate if the moderators do not remove it :crying:
this week i will get my new Moto G 2014 from USA , till now i have the chance to choose from the 2 colors ( white/black)
i like the black front of the the black moto version , but i hate the back ( i think it is a cheap plastic )
in the white moto , i hate the front (alot) but i really love the back
i will not have the chance to look at both of them in real to see how they look in real , so i should choose now and vedios don't help me
is the back of the black one really bad ??
and to the owners of the phone what is your preferable color ?? and if you have the chance to choose the other color, will you ?
i will count how many of you will say white and how many will say black and i will buy the one with most voices
your opinion is very important ,, and thanx friends
will be the first
I have black
if needed, i would order again black

thank you for your answer
this a one point for the black
i Prefer black to, the front is just much better because you dont see the sensors what is kind of ugly on the white one. but the white back looks nicer, so my choice should be buy the black one with a custom shell
thats what im gonna do (i already own the moto g 2014) but will buy the custom shell soon
Once you go black, you never go back.
I have the all back Moto G 2014. I ordered the white shell for it as well. I like the way how the contrast of black front and white back looks. It looks VERY good.
My only complaint is that the black cover that came originally with the phone had some "rubber" coating, which made it slip resistant. The white shell that I bought (btw, it is an orginial motorolla shell) is very smooth and slick and very slippery.
Not sure if the white back that comes originally with the white Moto G also has a "rubber" coating or not.
so every one choosed the all black moto G with white back cover , the same as my opinion
i confirmed the dealer that will buy it from US to bring me the black one
thanx , and you can continue telling your preferable color
The black one with white back shell, stormtrooper look
At Last My Choice !

my friend owns the black one, i own the white one, after using both (we switched for like a week) i can say i like white better, but he still likes the black better. Its a matter of opinion. You can always change the backs

Looks sooo good on the moto g Ordered this shell today too
TS, i have the black version and i think it looks good.
After all black which comes with device is really good quality shell, I mostly dropped or scratch my device because it's not that handy is moto e, due to it's large size most of time it slipped from my hand, after getting scratches on device I just rub on clothes which clean it again.
NOTE: BLACK SHELL IS BETTER QUALITY THAN OTHERS & ONLY BUY ORIGINAL SHELL TO EXPERIENCE MOTO G by Motorola
#my next shell goings to be is flip back cover just for safety because there is no warranty for physical damage !
I recently got my 128gb, and returning the 64gb tomorrow, did some comparison on the screen, 128 on the left side.

Light bleeding on the camera at low light condition
Brighter on the 128gb(letft). Stripes are from the camera(glare)
Different display modes?
Takes a few hundred hours for the pixels to settle. In a month they both would probably look similar.

This. Make sure your display mode is set to the same setting on both devices.
Light bleed does suck though. I had that on pretty much every HTC device I've owned.

While this may sound crazy! This is normal (that there not exactly the same). While you might be able to keep comparing different S6 until you find a pair that "matches", or have the same screen brightness any random pick won't be the same...there are many factors and as simple as different build dates etc...
On the S6 now and have had every galaxy since the first one and several HTC's before. I always by in pairs (keep the wife upgraded) and have noticed this every single time and not just with the Samsung's. Just how it is.
Sent from my SM-G920T
Alright, thanks
This is 'normal'. I am on my 3rd S6 because the first two had that ugly pink tint to it. My 3rd phone not only has no pink tint, but also a really crisp white display. Compared to the previous phones, they were much more yellow.

I'm on my 3rd as well, no pink but it does have some green at the bottom sadly. It's not too noticeable, and I don't think I want to go through the hassle of getting a 4th replacement. There's a whole thread on it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/getting-replacement-s6-due-to-screen-t3074865
All the AMOLED displays for the S6 are going to have slightly different factory calibration on all profiles. So no two S6 displays are going to be the exact same.
There is no such thing as light bleed on AMOLED screens.

Exactly. Basic knowledge
AMOLED does not have a backlight, it lights up each individual pixel which is why you can have inky blacks, because it simply turns off those pixels, unlike LED screens that use a black image with a light behind it giving off a grayish background.

light sensor is different in the camera (more sensitive or uneven)
I noticed a change in my screen after installing a tmobile update. Originally there was a completely black screen on the lockscreen, but after the update it almost appeared that there was a sort of gradient almost representing a light bleed.
Hello
I'm about to order the cabernet colored back for the Moto g, but I had a question, is the back cover more purple than red? Have you ordered it and what do you think of it?
Please post some will lit photos of the cover when you receive it.
I haven't got a picture but i have been using this back cover for some time.
The cover itself is purple, the pictures on the internet don't do it justice.
I ordered this colour back cover yesterday, will post photos when it arrives.
It's wine collor

I am hoping that it is a plum color (the darker part of the pic above). I just ordered the 16GB with Cabernet and Dark Chrome accent.
Thank you for the photo. Looks more purple in real life.
mine doesn't look quite as purple in person. It might just be the lighting.
not as good as original shell...
I bought the back cover..so called Moto Shell... but there is absolutely no grip on it.. The original shell which comes with the phone is awesome..it feels premium...
Did any one compared the original shell with the one purchased???You can clearly see the difference... or it is only me had the low quality product???
I've seen a few youtube reviews from people with purple backs, and it looks like deep plum purple.
It's the same way with the yellow one, which I got. It looked slighly orange on moto's site, and it's really more like big bird, school bus freaking yellow....not so thrilled about that.

I hate the textured slippery back cover. What the hell was cheaporola thinking?! Why not make custom grippy rubbery matte backs. I don't even care about the stupid chrome accent and different colors. I'd be happy with either all black or white. I'd still put a case on it but at least would be easier to grip without a case. I have a cheap LG phone that has back cover like that.

Yeah, I ordered the cabernet, the moto maker site showed it as almost like a maroon color, looked lovely on the screen with the champagne metallic metal accent plate I picked out....when it arrived in the mail the back plate was PURPLE. The moto maker site should be a little more accurate with how it displays their colors.
