actually it is not a problem but your opinions is very important to me
and please if this topic is off-forum , i will appreciate if the moderators do not remove it :crying:
this week i will get my new Moto G 2014 from USA , till now i have the chance to choose from the 2 colors ( white/black)
i like the black front of the the black moto version , but i hate the back ( i think it is a cheap plastic )
in the white moto , i hate the front (alot) but i really love the back
i will not have the chance to look at both of them in real to see how they look in real , so i should choose now and vedios don't help me
is the back of the black one really bad ??
and to the owners of the phone what is your preferable color ?? and if you have the chance to choose the other color, will you ?
i will count how many of you will say white and how many will say black and i will buy the one with most voices
your opinion is very important ,, and thanx friends

this a one point for the black
i Prefer black to, the front is just much better because you dont see the sensors what is kind of ugly on the white one. but the white back looks nicer, so my choice should be buy the black one with a custom shell
thats what im gonna do (i already own the moto g 2014) but will buy the custom shell soon

I have the all back Moto G 2014. I ordered the white shell for it as well. I like the way how the contrast of black front and white back looks. It looks VERY good.
My only complaint is that the black cover that came originally with the phone had some "rubber" coating, which made it slip resistant. The white shell that I bought (btw, it is an orginial motorolla shell) is very smooth and slick and very slippery.
Not sure if the white back that comes originally with the white Moto G also has a "rubber" coating or not.
so every one choosed the all black moto G with white back cover , the same as my opinion
i confirmed the dealer that will buy it from US to bring me the black one

my friend owns the black one, i own the white one, after using both (we switched for like a week) i can say i like white better, but he still likes the black better. Its a matter of opinion. You can always change the backs

Looks sooo good on the moto g Ordered this shell today too
TS, i have the black version and i think it looks good.
After all black which comes with device is really good quality shell, I mostly dropped or scratch my device because it's not that handy is moto e, due to it's large size most of time it slipped from my hand, after getting scratches on device I just rub on clothes which clean it again.
NOTE: BLACK SHELL IS BETTER QUALITY THAN OTHERS & ONLY BUY ORIGINAL SHELL TO EXPERIENCE MOTO G by Motorola
#my next shell goings to be is flip back cover just for safety because there is no warranty for physical damage !

I got my custom designed shell a couple of weeks back. It seems its very prone to little scratches and the quality didnt seem high end either. I think I will get a new shell sometime and treat it with some boat finish paint or similar.

hard to say at the moment because i ordered the white one yesterday. i will tell you as soon as it arrives.
but my first design (with the android-logo) is glossy so i expect that the white one will be glossy too.
After reading the previous I had a go at a white version. (you can probably tell I was a fan of the magic!)
hey! i got my white desing yesterday and yes - it's glossy.
Just placed my order yesterday for a cover similar to will_c55's design(I'm a Magic fan too). But I was in a bit of a hurry to do it, so instead of adding 'with Google', I added 'BY Google'.

A bit of touch-up paint and some rewriting should do the trick...
I don't think anyone here will notice it. The full-white body will catch everyone's eyes!
OK. So I JUST got my cover. I'm not really satisfied with it. First of all, it has a matte finish, which is good. No fingerprints, and you can get a good grip with this surface. The engraved 3D squares look quite nice too.
BUT, the thinkness of the plastic is a little more than the stock cover. It's like they took the stock cover and pasted a layer over it. So the cover is not in the same level as the screen and the buttons. The call answer and end buttons are pretty much in the same level as the cover itself. Also, then finishing is not perfect. There's some imperfections like small "bumps" on the surface and uneven edges. It doesn't seem like a professional finish, despite Garskin being the "official" supplier of Tattoo covers.
I'd rate it 6.5\10

Hi Guys!
Recently I purchased a 32 gb touchpad second hand dual boot CM9 and everything was working ok. Couple of days ago I noticed a four brighter spots-around 1mm- in the left top corner. I don't know if these spots have been there at the beginning as they are hardly visible apart from white background and other light colors. What I find strange is that these spots form a perfect rhombus, kind of the one Google put on the top dev apps. Could you please help me or at least give me some idea: what these bright spots might be? Thank you very much!

Have you tried any of the screen test app's? Could be dead pixels...

That is the best I can do. Sorry if the quality is no good. Although the screen appear grey it is actually white and those four bright dots are clearly visible. Thank you. I also checked for dead pixels, but I don't think this is the case. Appreciate any help!

I'm not really that experienced with this kind of thing, but it doesn't look like a dead or stuck pixel to me. When you press firmly on the screen, does it change at all?
EDIT: This is a response from OCN after I posted your issue and picture:
"Look like a finger print
To ID screen issues make 5 pictures. They should be pure black, pure white, pure Red, pure Green and pure blue. Use MS paint ore something and its best if the pictures are the same size as the screen and in png format (Jpegs can have artifacts). Now look at thees pictures in full screen mode. If the "smudge" looks the same regardless of color then its probably something like a nick or scratch on the screen. If shape changes depending on color it means there are damaged or jammed liquid crystals in the screen. If the crystals are just jammed they can start to work again if you run flickering video (google dead pixel repair). If its indeed stuck pixles then you can also tap the area repeatedly as a slight movement in the screen panel can get crystals moving again."
You might want to give that a shot.

I installed Dead pixel repair and Pixel fixer. I run both apps and these spots are still visible, more or less on every screen background, apart from black. I don't think it is a scratch or nick on the screen, as the shape is strange and I cant feel anything when go over it with a finger. Also, the shape never change regardless of the screen background. I would appreciate if you could re-post to OCN-I don't know what that abbreviation stand for. Thank you again!

"In that case it sounds to me like its a back light issue or to precise the backlight diffuser has a flaw in it. The diffuser is an clear plastic sheet that's painted white. It's job is to evenly reflect the light from the LED's though the LCD matrix. Unfortunately there is very little a layman can do about an damaged/flawed diffuser. I would just try to live with it but if it really bugging you then you might want to either RMA if (if you have warranty) or ring up HP support and ask about what it would potentially cos to fix it (and that's probably more then you will want to pay)."

I am looking to see if anyone can post a photo of what the "Lemon and Lime" 2nd gen flip shell looks like? I see photos on the net - most are yellow, but then... yellow != "lemon and lime" - yellow = LEMON.

That was the first place I looked - the colour they showed for the 1st gen "Lemon and Lime" flip shell was dull yellow, but on an independant blog, the very same one was BRIGHT, almost NEON lime green, as kill_master has alluded to. If Motorola themselves can't take a photo with an accurate colour representation, then I can't trust their marketing images

It's a mix between the first pic and the last one. It's not yellow and it's not green. And yeah, I have the gen2 moto g.

It's my favourite colour too. I can't tell if it's more green than yellow. It has the same amount of both I guess. I'd take a picture, but I don't have a way to do it at the moment. I'll try to post a picture next to white normal shell in the daylight so you can see.
Be careful when you order these covers. The colors aren't the most accurate. I ordered the red one, and when i got it, the color was more pinkish red. Dayum!

I haven't got a picture but i have been using this back cover for some time.
The cover itself is purple, the pictures on the internet don't do it justice.

I am hoping that it is a plum color (the darker part of the pic above). I just ordered the 16GB with Cabernet and Dark Chrome accent.

I bought the back cover..so called Moto Shell... but there is absolutely no grip on it.. The original shell which comes with the phone is awesome..it feels premium...

It's the same way with the yellow one, which I got. It looked slighly orange on moto's site, and it's really more like big bird, school bus freaking yellow....not so thrilled about that.

I hate the textured slippery back cover. What the hell was cheaporola thinking?! Why not make custom grippy rubbery matte backs. I don't even care about the stupid chrome accent and different colors. I'd be happy with either all black or white. I'd still put a case on it but at least would be easier to grip without a case. I have a cheap LG phone that has back cover like that.

i have the white front bezel, and i really like it. this is the first white phone i've ever owned...it took a little bit, but it really grew on me.
Yeah, I ordered the cabernet, the moto maker site showed it as almost like a maroon color, looked lovely on the screen with the champagne metallic metal accent plate I picked out....when it arrived in the mail the back plate was PURPLE. The moto maker site should be a little more accurate with how it displays their colors.

The Smart Cover: I have three of them in black, white, and "military green." The quality is actually very decent and it doesn't make the phone much thicker. If you are after a case that covers every part of the phone, I'd recommend it. If I had to pick just one color, I'd choose the brownish green one. There's also a real-leather smart cover but it seems to be out of stock.
The Real-Wood Shell Case: I have two, bamboo and the darker one (I think the tree is called Dalbergia in English). This just covers the back and the sides of the phone, leaving the front exposed. The wood on the back is very nice but although the edge is very well made, it's still plastic, and the metal frame being covered by it would look way better otherwise. Wouldn't really hurt them to make this part out of metal, of which they have an oversupply in China anyway... Still not bad though. Of the two, the lighter one pairs better with the phone, mostly due to the lighter bezel. There is also a way to have the glass back of your phone replaced with the same choices of wood, although I wouldn't do that as it's permanent and the glass is going to be more durable.
The Fiber-Textured Shell Case: I have it in grey, and it doesn't really pair up well with the golden bezel on the phone. It's also not going to be very durable, neither is it as nice to touch as it's supposed to be. I wouldn't recommend it. Anyway, it seems to be out of stock now.
Finally, the Transparent Shell Case: a very simple, no-nonsense one, and it lets the phone keep its original look. Not really thinner than the cases above though, so don't but it for this reason.
To sum it up, from among the ones I have, if you want the whole phone covered - I'd get the military green, if only the back and the sides - the bamboo one.
