Looking at the magnetic port closely and by shining a light on it I have noticed that there's a gap between the magnetic port and chassis. This gap is only at the bottom side of the port (where the round bit ends), the top side seems fine. Does anyone else have this?
Will this take away the waterproofing?

Hello Ladies and Gents,
Does anyone know how/where to insert the strap in the MDA Compact IV?
I usually use a wrist strap on my devices so I can put it on my wrist while I'm using my phone in-case it slips and falls over the balcony or on the floor when I'm smoking with the other hand.

It's very simple. Remove the back cover; at the bottom (with the screen facing down) to the right of the mini-usb port you have a small hole. That's not the microphone. The microphone is the smaller, rounder hole to the left of the mini-usb port. If you insert the lanyard (or thin strap) into the orifice to the right handside, it'll come out on the small slit inside the back cover. Hook the lanyard onto the slit and replace the back cover.
Thanks but the strap I've got does not go through that hole, I'm going to have to buy another wrist strap.

Hi,
My Z have a gap the width of finger nail between the screen and the plastic boarder on the left hand side of the phone. This can be seen very easily after a day in the pocket. The right hand side is fine, with hardly any gap.
The phone is only 3 days old, my worry is the gap will let in water and dust in the long team.
Can Z owners please have a quick check of their phone see if this is normal for me
I have attached some pictures of my phone.
1st picture:
Blue shows the gap on the left hand side.
Red shows gap on the right hand side.
Green bit is normal, it looks like a gap, but it is refection of the light off the screen proctor.
2nd pictures show close up of the left hand side.
3rd picture show close up of the right hand side.
Many thanks
Mine doesn't seem to have gaps like that. The one on the 2nd picture looks very wide.
Hi,I've been using the Xperia Z1 for a month now, and I gotta say it's a wonderful phone. I however, had an accident with it when i dropped to the floor while charging on a dock, desk height yesternight. I didn't notice any damage with it and this morning I put it in my pocket and squatted down while having it in the side pocket. I took it out afterwards and I noticed a slight curve on the frame, the upper part before the end of the micro-usb flap just kinda bended backward. It took me quite awhile to re-bend the frame for it to straighten out (well not exactly, but 95%). Has anyone else experienced this? Mind sharing?
I noticed on my Xperia XZ1 Compact that there is a noticeable gap between the display and the frame at the bottom. The top is completely flush but the bottom seems like it's like very slightly short. I didn't notice it until I was cleaning my phone and it's dust in there. I am not sure if this will have an effect down the road or affect water/dust resistance. Anyone see the same issue when their display?

Looks the same as mine tbh
Mine also has it.
If u have it, we all have it.
On my silver XZ1C the top and the bottom looks pretty much the same.

Ok so I just bought this phone today and call me picky but I've noticed that the glass/plastic that covers the 3 camera modules on the back is flush with the metal surround on the right-hand side (viewed from the back) but sits a millimetre or so above the metal surround on the left-hand side, meaning that it sits at an angle, basically...
My main question really is will this affect its IP68 rating? Should it be 100% flush or slightly raised? Has anyone else got the same issue? Most people wouldn't notice it I'm thinking but I like to inspect a new device straight away to see if it has flaws.
Can hardly return it for such a minor thing, unless its IP68 rating is affected I guess, as nothing in this world is perfect. Besides, they have no stock left as this was on sale for a good price. Thanks.
