For some odd reason my Droid turbo lags from time to time. It takes forever to open apps, scrolling is not smooth. When Typing messages my phone is like three words behind
Also charging my phone takes forever. It will quick charge to about 35%.. But after that it takes hours to reach 100%. I plug my device in at 6AM.. Woke up at 11 and the device was only at 77%!
This can't be normal.. Should I get a replacement or is their a simple fix?
Mine went from 63 to 100 in about an hour, something isn't right, take it back
I agree with mikera67. Something is definitely wrong. Have had my turbo for a week and have not had any lag or issues with charging. I would take it back and exchange it.
Can I call Verizon and have them send me a replacement? Or do it has to be done in store?

You should be able to call them. Personally, I would just take it in to a store if possible, would make the process a lot quicker and easier. Every time I call Verizon with an issue I get stuck with some tier 1 tech that assumes I am an idiot. So then I have to spend 30 minutes on the phone until I can convince them I am not an idiot and there is actually a problem.
Last time I had to warranty replace a phone I tried to just call them and have them send me a replacement only to spend an hour on the phone and have the tech tell me it must be user error (the lower volume button was stuck in a permanently on state so the phone would never load past the bootloader). I then went into a store and they had a new phone on the way in 10 minutes.
You was right Manjews lol.. The rep I was on the phone with couldn't do it so he said he left notes on my account so when I go into the store they exchange it with no hassle

Hi guys, haven't been here since my WIN MOB days. Glad the place is hopping as usual.
Bionic users seem to be experiencing a total lockup on sleeping handsets. There is a rather extensive thread over Moto support and the mod seems to be paying attention.
Just popped in to ask your experiences and the frequency with which you guys are seeing this and any possible remedies.
I've seen a couple of very short threads here, but nothing with any follow-up.
Thanks,
RMD
I have had this happen on multiple occasions, the power/wake-up button stops working and the only way to get the phone back is pulling the battery. The last time it happened was last night, and even after the battery was pulled it wouldn't come back up. I only got my phone back after switching out the battery with my extended battery.
Does anyone have a link to the thread at Moto support?
Seems like it happens more often when the phone has been sleeping for longer than 30 mins for me. Go for a run, come back and can't wake the phone up. Or go to sleep and wake up in the morning with it blacked out.
This happened to me for the first time today, but it happened twice within about 2 hours. Pulling the battery was the only way to get it back.
This has been happening to me for the last few days, only things is Im rooted, I was considering unrooting until customer roms and kernels come out.... but seeing that you guys are having this issue with the phone stock.... quite weird, hopefully a firmware update will come out for this soon
I've got mine rooted and have never had this issue before. I have not removed or frozen any apps though.
Also I leave my system on performance mode in the battery profile.
In fact, I left it on my nightstand last night without plugging it in. Woke up a few times and checked the time each time and the phone always woke right up.
So, I want to say mine started locking up when I selected "in pocket detection."
I just now thought about it reading one of the post here talking about going for a jog. I just turned it off and will see if that makes a difference. I get a lock at least once a day.
I have been rooted since day 1 and have had Bloat removed since day 2 and "knock on wood" have never had this issue.
I've been getting this too. It only seems to happen at home where I have only 3g available. Are you guys that are having this happen in a 4g area or is it just 3g as well?
I had this issue on the second day and never since, but being how "lucky" I am as I post this I will have the issue...
Had this happen once to me today while i was severely multitasking then hit the power button by mistake. I gave up after about 5 seconds and pulled the battery
I have had this happen to me about 3 times now. Once during texting, once after breakfast, and once after movie. I think this is pretty damn unacceptable for a $600 device that was delayed so much.
Never had the black screen. However after long standby times the pattern screen doesn't register correctly the first few times. Unrooted.

Luckily Chicago and the suburbs are 4g so im it all the time. So far inly in 4g has it happen to me

I had this same issue on Day 2 of having my blessid Bionic... Didn't realize why my screen kept going to sleep every 5 seconds. So after taking my phone to VZW to have it looked at (and the rep had no clue what was going on)--I realized that my in-pocket detection setting may have been the culprit.
Not happening to mine. However I do notice apps deleting themselves when transferred to my SD card. Rumor is they are prepping an update soon... I sure hope so. But the good news is the screen is growing on me, and I love the phone. It reminds me when I first bought My Samsung LED TV w/240 refresh rate. My eyes took forever to adjust, now I cant watch tv any other way.

Good deal... Glad to hear it. It was gonna drive me nuts. This was my first time being an "early adopter". I usually wait about 3-6 months before buying a popular phone to allow all the bugs to be worked out. So getting this phone 2 days after its debut--you can see why I was nervous to have a fully-functioning phone!
Even just to hold it lightly it turns the device off. Won't completely shut it down but it's weird. Probably go to vzw for a new one.
If I take it in will they replace it our will I have to wait for one from the warehouse?

Depends if they have an extra in stock in that store at the time.
If they do, they'll trade it for you right away.
If not they will ship you one.
Haha, you might have the pocket detection on. Just go to settings and turn it off. Problem solved.

I had to exchange my Bionic (GPS location problem). I called the telephone support line midday. VZW Tech Support asked me a couple of questions and asked that I do not return the phone to the store. He said I would get a new phone by 3 pm the next day.
Doorbell rang at 2:45 pm; FedEx handed me a box. It was just the front of a new phone, 2 months newer per the manufacturing code. I transferred the SIM card and battery and back cover. It took me about 15 minutes total to switch and activate the phone with Google and redownload Market apps.
VZW includes a prepaid FedEx return label. I put the return back in the box, put the label on, and dropped the package into a local FedEx box the next morning. I received an SMS message from VZW 2 days later. I didn't bother tracking the number.
Could not be easier.
The caveat? If the phone isn't returned in 5 days your account will be charged. Two years ago that happened to me, but the FedEx tracking number quickly resolved the problem. Someone or somthing at the VZW warehouse didn't process the return properly.
Don't push the top of it.

I couldn't resist.
A week or so ago i dropped my phone in my truck and broke the screen. Asurion sent me a new one the next day and it has been nothing but problems. The battery they sent with it wont last more than 2 or 3 hours with the phone sitting on the desk not being touched. I tried my old battery and it had the same results. I made a nandroid of my old phone and restored it on the new one and nothing worked correctly. I did a full system wipe/restore and the phone seemed to be working but it won't detect a network after a reboot unless i restart the phone again. Asurion is sending me another phone tomorrow so hopefully it will work better than this one. With the battery issues, i tried everything from the forums to calibrate it and turn off things to lenghten but nothing worked. I hope the next replacement is a better device. I love my D3 but i can't live with a phone that has no battery life.
Also, when i did the full system restore, my google account did not sync any of my old information. The market would give me an error (even after accepting the ToS) and none of my contact information (from google or verizon backup manager) made it to the new device.
UPDATE:
Asurion sent me a new D3. Hopefully this one won't suffer from the same problems as the last few.
I always thought a nandroid could only be put on the phone it came from. Even thought its the same model phone. As far as the other issues you are having sorry, it sounds like you got a lemon.

All Asurion phones have a one year warranty through Verizon IIRC. Call them up and ask.

Agree with MrObvious. I just got a replacement D3 from asurion and I couldn't be happier. I guess it is just luck of the draw with the one they send you.
I had a Droid 2 originally.
-1st replacement they gave me the backlight on the keyboard didn't work
-2nd replacement the audio jack crackled when i moved the headphones and the phone restarted itself any time I turned on the GPS.
-3rd replacement was a D3 (current phone) and it has GREAT battery life. (still 90% after a full day of work). Make them replace it for you, they likely will. Good luck man.
It was a lemon
The first one they sent was a lemon. The new one came with a battery that had a charge of 44%. I put it in when i got home, rooted and restored all of my stuff with titanium backup, used the phone for a few hours (light use, few phone calls, some market use), and turned the alarm on for this morning. When i got up this morning it had been roughly 15 hours since i put the battery in without charging and it was at 21%. I think this one will keep me happy for a while.
Good to hear man, glad that you can now enjoy the phone more fully!
Mine was up and running for about an hour and the screen shut off while typing out a text and plugged in. Can't get it to respond to anything now. Plus the camera lens on the back was getting pretty warm when it charges now.
Pull battery? Sounds like a warranty is about to occur dude.

My issue is that the screen won't turn off if I get a text or the battery is full unless I press the power button. I tried restarting and factory resetting but it still happens. Is it just me? Lol
Edit: oh and I have the screen timer set to 30 sec.

i need to ask , how much memory taken when i record with 4k HD video in 1 minute ??
Took mine into the local AT&T store and was told that they weren't going to have any in stock until tomorrow. Seems odd as they go on sale tomorrow, but whatever. What pissed me off was when they said that they couldn't hold one for me and that it would be on a first come, first served basis. I pre-ordered the damn thing a month ago. Pretty sure I am first. After expressing that he said he would give my name to his manager to "try" and hold one. The store is going to have a pretty loud mess on their hands if i can't get my hands on one.

facing same issue camera lens on back getting warm even when not on charge. For some operations getting blank screen as if it is not responding but so far so good.
Completely drained battery and recharged to 100% it took exactly 2 hours.

Then they simply call the police to escort you out the store. Trust me, we've done it plenty of times before. Customer service is the only department that conforms to demands when someone is yelling at them. In store, we say we're gonna get the manager and happily walk to the back and call the police. Then we come back out right as the police show up so we can wave goodbye. And its first come first serve. Placing a pre-order a month ago doesn't give you priority in-store. Just fyi.

I wont yell and scream. I have a little more class and sophistication than that. I will however chew ass into a manager of what I perceive as a bad business practices. If at&t can't take of customers that have already given them money for a product that is defective, then I have an issue.
If its a warranty claim within 14 days (which it obviously is) then they should replace in store just bring the original box and everything in it so they have no excuse.

Hey,
So i have the note 4 and my gf and i like to fall sleep but after 4 hour the call cuts out is there a way to override this i have rooted my device etc. Were getting her a new Samsung s5 any ideas thanks guys.
I think the first thing I would try is using an app to keep the screen on on both phones and have both phones plugged in. And, definitely no power saver mode or battery saver apps.
Ah, the 4 hour phone calls. I remember those days... Weren't no such thing as a cellphone back then. If I'm on the phone more than 5 minutes these days, there's something wrong!
I believe this is a network feature and if it can be overridden, the carrier would have to do it
^^^^ exactly the way I feel haha
Damn 4hrs at one time to the same person.
Fair use policy?

I would try google voice and use a google voice number maybe that will keep u on
I haven't been able to find anything official on T-Mobile's site, but you'll see people on other phones (iPhones, Blackberry, etc...) complaining about the 4 hour limit. It's not a device issue, and there's no "block" on your account, it's just the way T-Mobile's network works.
The only thing I can recommend (apart from switching carriers, obviously) is a Hangouts voice call. If you both have Hangouts installed on your phone you can initiate a voice call and have no time limit. Just make sure you're on WiFi (or an unlimited data plan) since it uses data, not minutes.
