I am unable to use any of my wired headsets with the Nexus 6. The middle button launches Google Now during a call. On the Nexus 5, the same headsets toggled Mute with that button. I have tried apps to reprogram the button (like Headset Button Controller) but they can not override the Google Now function.
Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?
Same problem here! Can't find a way to reassign the button to media control or something else. It always starts Google Voice Search.
If pressed when phone is locked I get a message telling me I have to unlock the phone to use Google Voice Search!
Headset Button ControllerTrial did not work!

Does turning of Bluetooth headset in Settings, Search & Now, Voice do anything to correct this problem?

One annoyance I've found with my Fuze's call status screen is I would have to go to the menu to turn hands-free on/off.
The fuze's got a long menu thanks to AT&T's PTT craps, so i would have to click menu -> scroll up -> click hands-free to transfer call between handset and my headset.
My wife's got an iphone and the Speaker Phone icon turns into a select source (forgot the exact name and can't find screenshot online) button when bluetooth is detected, clicking the button brings up a list to select "Speaker", "Phone" or "Bluetooth" which easily transfer call to any of the 3 places.
Anybody know similar solutions for WM6 or anything at all that would transfer call to/from bluetooth with button clicks?
Thanks in advance

Search for the diamond dialer skin, install it and it will do what you are wishing.
Thanks for the reply
I've found these skins and will try it out.

But I don't find mention of the "Hands-Free" button?
Try this .cab I think its more of what your looking for.
It's very pretty skin but it's just a skin.
To move the call to/from bluetooth headset i still need to click menu, find "Turn hands-free on/off" and click on it.
On the iphone, this is readily available via 2 button clicks.
So if you're headset is connected (via bluetooth) it doesn't automatically answer with the headset? I've only had my fuze for 2 days so I'm still getting the hang of it. But I do have a bluetooth hands-free stereo in my car, and if I get a call it picks up automatically with the car's hands-free. But I guess it would be nice to be able to quickly switch back to the handset during certain calls so that passengers don't have to hear the conversation.
There is nothing I've seen that will give you the connection options on a big button on the screen while in a call, only speaker phone. You already know that you can route it back to the phone with the menu option, but you can also route it back to the headset just by touching the answer button on said headset. I realize that won't help you if you want to go from headset to speakerphone, but if you hold the answer button on the phone with an incoming call, it should put you straight to speakerphone even if there is a headset attached.
But again, there is no app I've seen that gives you a button to switch the call to any source you choose.
Thanks, I think this is the answer I need - using the right hardware buttons the right way at the right time.
It's not as convenient as having one button to switch calls to different places imho but I guess it doesn't bother many people since I don't find this feature request anywhere.
Hey I've just got a new pair of sony bluetooth headphones for my phone which I'm loving and they're working great.
They have a button on them that when I press it brings up some king of bluetooth voice dialing thing.
I'm wondering if there is a way I can change that to default to google voice search so i can use it for all sorts of commands rather than just voice dialling. Anybody know if its possible?
I have a 2013 Chevy Spark with bluetooth. It has the voice control activation button on the steering wheel. When I had my Galaxy Note, this would activate S-Talk and I could use voice controls through the car. When I try with the One, an app pops up and quickly closes on the phone, then the radio says voice control isn't supported, but half the time if I start talking, the voice control works anyways. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this? I am on ARHD, but I had the same issue when I was still completely stock with a locked bootloader. This could be a deal breaker because I do a ton of driving and use voice control a ton.

Hi ekosbravo: I have the same problem. I have an HBF-320 bluetooth handsfree from LG and the button doesn't Works from making a call. Only works for answer a call or, with a long press, for redialing the last number called. The same handsfree device Works fine with Motorola RAZR pone. With the Motorola, one touch to the button launches Google Now or Motorola's voice command. This function doesn't Works with my LG...
Same Problem
Hi!
I have the same problem! I have a BT headset that I had been using with my Motorola Pro with Android 2.3.6 and now I cannot launch any voice command app with it in my LG Optimus 4x with JB.
Did anybody solved this?
Thanks!
I have the Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth headset and it does flawlessly what you require. Therefore there is nothing wrong with the phones or the ROMs..
Hello,
I have the Nexus 6 for the last month now. I was using the phone when I noticed that the headset buttons does not work.
If I press a headset button while I listen to music, it will not stop the music but instead it is going to open Google now commands.
Same issue when I try to answer a call.
I have tried several apps from the market, but none of the seem to fix the problem.
I have tried disabling the Google now, but when I hit the button, it goes to voice search again.
I think that the Google now only listens to the headset buttons and I want to fix it.
Can anyone help me fix it?
Thank you in advance.
PS: I have read and tried the things other threads was saying and nothing seem to work.
I can't really help but I am pretty sure it depends on the bluetooth device.
In 1 car when I push the call button (stand alone device) it forces you to make calls in a strange interface that only makes calls. It has a different put for play/pause
In my other car (built in bluetooth) it does google now (which in my opinion works a lot better) and then it has on screen play pause.
