Hi, i'm under lollipop version .17.
Is there any way to hide the soft keys and swype up to appear, without root?
My concern is mainly the amoled screen burn-in that occurs usually on those screens. And to get the most of screen i can too.
Thanks.

I have hardware problems with my HTC touch screen sensor. When I touch sometimes in the middle or bottom of the screen, it 'thinks' that I am touching the top of the screen and opens the notification bar down. Since there is probably no way that I can fix the touch screen:
My question is. Is there anyway to disable the notification bar?

Is there anyway that I can re-calibrate the screen?
This is the exact problem I am having...I just don't know where Locale & Text is in settings. Probably a 2.1 thing:

You can hide the notification bar if you use LauncherPro
take off your screen protector
For some reason, the onscreen Back and Home buttons now appear in the lockscreen in the black space where the navigation buttons normally go. The Recent Apps button does not show in the lockscreen; only Back and Home. Before it was just a blank space when viewing any lockscreen. These buttons have no response and not even a haptic feedback when being pressed. It was bad enough that the black space was there in the lockscreen. How I have two buttons that don't do anything.
I have a TL with stock AT&T Jelly Bean firmware, but it also occurs on the generic .140 firmware.
Has anyone else seen this happen on their Xperia T/TL/TX? Is there some known setting or other thing that makes these buttons appear?
The back and home buttons appear when the notification panel is opened. Else it is just an ugly black strip. The functions are basically to close the notification panel after it is pulled down. As far as I know there is no way to remove it unless you completely disable the navigation bar and enable Pie Controls like me. (Or some alternate soft buttons).
If in your case the buttons are always displayed.. it could be a bug.
please

What's the last app you installed guys? I read before with a similar case and it was due to Sony smart key app(or a name something like that).

Yes, that is the solution. Smart Key app keeps those virtual buttons on in the lockscreen.

is there no way to keep the app and let the navigation bar remain invisible on lockscreen ..
or any alt app ?
Not that I'm aware of. Hopefully someone will discover a solution at some point.
Indeed I was the one who mentioned this problem, I also tried to address this problem to sony to update there app. But no response. Pleas all of you go to the play store and address this problem. Maybe sony will hear us this time.

I have an unlocked rooted VZ Dev Ed with Xposed and Gravity Box and Ultimate Nav Bar module. But I still can't figure out how to add a magnifying glass to my stock soft keys. Ultimate Nav Bar only seems to give me yet another Nav Bar that pops up when I press the trigger but doesn't replace my existing soft keys. Maybe I'm not setting up Ultimate Nav Bar correctly?
I like having persistent softkeys or at least ones that are easily accessible with a swipe up. (Although swiping up from the bottom seems to trigger Google Now so I set Ultimate Nav bar to be triggered by a press on the right instead of a swipe.)
I prefer the stock softkeys to Ultimate Nav Bar anyway. I did add the three dots menu to my stock softkeys but I would also like to add the magnifying glass for search. Is this possible? If not, how do I completely replace the stock softkeys with Ultimate Navbar?
Judging by the lack of response - I guess its not possible (Unless I want to flash a CM rom.)
I just want to say "Me Too". This is the biggest thing I miss from the AOKP ROM. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an Xposed module that does this. (No, Gravitybox's extra button does not provide the context sensitive search I'm looking for).
My navigation button seems to have lost the 'home' and 'recent apps' functionality. I still have fingerprint unlock, back and google menus.
I tried turning the normal nav bar back on and off, but that didn't help. Stock ROM. Any ideas?

Are you sure that there's no dead touch spot on the screen? Try to turn on visual touch feedback in the developer options to check the area around the home and recent button. But I think there's no way to avoid a reset. Don't forget to back up your stuff!
also make sure that you dont have any overlay app, like dim screen, rounded corners etc. They often mess up system buttons, because this is how android protect from fake touches made by apps.

Touches all look reasonable (but there is no indication for the off-screen buttons). No overlays or anything like that on this phone. I think it will have to be a reset, but kind of reluctant to do that in a rush...
Hi, guys, when I move the mouse to the top of the screen when the software is full screen, the status bar will come out. It's very annoying. Is there any module that can prohibit this behavior? Especially when I use Rd client.
