changes/improvements you find in 5.0.1 over 5.0 - Nexus 5 General

As we all know 5.0.1 landed to N5 , but there are no changelog by google and by considering it's OTA size (~13MB) it probably only some patches n improvement.
So guys tell the improvement u noticed (if any ) so that all can track them in single thread

Phone always is in use

Ok, so my z3c running the latest stagefright patch update (23.4.a.264) now seems to be ON ( or how it translates) all the time, even when i keep it in my pocket with all apps turned off and ram cleared. Battery life is bad now.
Please have a look at my screenshots where it says "Funcționare", that would translate as " phone in use". Use copy/paste cuz i'm new around here.

[15th November] New update!

A new update of around 88 mb is now available for all of us. Now keeping its size in mind, we might underestimate it. But it brings amazing new things!
After a long wait, EIS is now available in the camera and so is Live Wallpaper support. They have also fixed the FM radio battery drain. A small yet wonderful update. Install n enjoy!
P.S. Big things come in small packages.
Thanks Asus for frequent updates....
Waiting for Android Pie for Zenfone Maz Pro M1

Yeah, the home button is wonderful now. Upon long pressing, Google Assistant pops up faster than ever too. Lets wait for Pie now! Great things await us for sure.

For me, the battery drain has improved a lot since Nov 12th. FM radio was one of the biggest culprits so far for such idle drains. Force stop the FM radio app and uncheck the "background activity" for it and see the difference after a restart. Good luck!

OneUI fluidity

After the OneUI update, I find that the phone isn't as buttery smooth with its animations as it used to be. This is particularly noticeable when switching between apps or going into the app switcher screen. It's kind of choppy (but not necessarily lagging).
Anyone else experience this?
It's always recommended to full wipe (or at least wipe cache) after a major version number update. For me, this has always smoothed out most of the rough edges.
Which build are you on?
US Unlocked OneUI update.
No, I mean the last four digits of the build number. Earlier builds seem to be less smooth than the later ones. At least on Exynos; SD could be different because it's simply faster.
The only fluidity issue I really noticed on OneUI, and it's pretty terrible, is when I open the quick settings/notifications panel, from the lock screen. Oddly, it doesn't happen if you're using the stock wallpaper, but as soon as you're using a custom wallpaper, the "lag" is terrible on the lockscreen when opening that menu (like 5-10fps, super choppy).
I noticed the same thing. I didn't want to do a full wipe. The only thing I've found to help is set animations to 0 so it feels snappy again.
For me the phone startup time had more than doubled after pie upgrade. But a cache wipe made it back to normal again.

That's a bug in Android 9, not One UI. Or so I hear
Yep, there is not the same smoothness and feeling like it was on 8.1
Easy test : Use 8.1 with energy saver (Just cpu to 70%) and then use 9.0 with the same energy saver (Just again, only cpu to 70%) and you see the difference between Oreo and Pie instantly !
Pie is not optimized enough. It just eats 20% of our generell performance i would bet, because u can feel it.
I flashed now 8 Times between Oreo and Pie.
Every time i had the chance to see the diferences between the OS-Versions.
And the Battery is not better on pie.
(Yes, i flashed sometimes via odin clean, and sometimes over the 8.1 the ota to 9.0. So i could check the variables between clean flash and ota).
Pie is not so fluid like oreo.
And the Adaptive Brightness Problem ! (S9 and S9+ had this too, but samsung patched it later)
The RAM-Management is worst on Pie.
The OS feels like : Put a full note 7 ROM on Note 3 and use it for 1 Week....
Some kind of laggy. But not realy laggy...I do miss on pie 20FPS. This it how it feels. From 60FPS to 40/45FPS.
When u turn on the energy saver for cpu it feels like u drop from 60FPS to 35-40FPS. (Its just how i want to describe it )
When u turn on the energy saver for cpu in oreo it feels like from 60FPS to 50-60FPS. A lot smoother... (Depends on usage and user ! Gaming hits harder, i know )
I talk about dayly usage and not heavy gaming. I dont game on my smartphones but i would guess : Gaming is not so smooth with 9.0 like it was on 8.1. Can anyone tell here, wo is gaming on 9.0 and was gaming on 8.1 ??
tbh on european exynos version i think it is smoother than oreo.
for me goes perfect.... im on sd
I switched to 9.0 via OTA and then made a factory reset.
(Exynos here)
But this Time i had this bug. Persistent bug.
When u press the powerbutton to lock the device, it takes 1-1.5 sec. to lock !
Delayed. Sometimes when i flashed via odin the 9.0 or ota from 8.1 this bug happens and u can only get rid of it, when u factory reset.
I know, some people encountered the bug.
But wow, even from fresh install via odin this can be appear.
Okay, iam back on 8.1 again
But : I will wait until all the bugs on pie are killed. I do wait a few versions of pie.
Enjoying 8.1 ^^

did you actually fully flash pie filling all slot and selecting csc.md5 over home?
and by factory reset, you mean wipe data and wipe cache?(yes both)

Yes. Every Time a fully clean flash via CSC and not Home_CSC
So every Time after flashing it did a factory reset and i had to setup the device.
And i set it always as new device up abd i did not use app-backups.
And yes, with factory reset i mean to wipe data and cache.

wow ok.
then U firmware must be buggy.
international note 9 dont have this
I use the same firmware like everybody.
Used OTA's too sometimes.
International N9 (Exynos, DBT Firmware)
Bugs that i found, others found too.
We already told it samsung via Members App and they answered, that they take a look inside the software.
S9/+ had this problems too and samsung fixed it.
But not everybody had this problems. Some had this sometimes and some didnt.
Like my powerbutton issue :
Sometimes when u update to 9.0 the powerbuttonbug appears and when u press the powerbutton to lack, it will lock after 1-2sec. delay.
Sometimes the bug does not appear.
But when it appears : it wont go away until full reset.
9.0 is still buggy a bit.
At this moment iam back to 9.0 to test again and no problems for 14Hrs usage now.
No powerbutton problems, no autobrightness-problems.
Its atm just fine.
Battery loooks great too.
Strange !
This time it was ota and even no reset after it.
Edit :
But yes. Its some kind of "broken". I think its still buggy. Like it was first for the S9/+ too.
I wrote that iam on pie for 14 Hrs.
Not its a few hrs more.
No Batteryproblems (91% and 17Hrs Usage with 53Min. Screen ON. Its TOP like Oreo !)
No LockButton Bugs.
No Speedproblems.
No nothing ! In this state : I recommend fully to update to Pie.
But what i didn´t understand : I flashed nearly 10 Times now forward and back.
Every time it had some kind of problems.
I flashed 9.0 clean via odin with factory reset (csc and not home_csc).
I flashed 9.0 clean via odin with factory reset and later ota´s (Security updates. 2 or 3)
I flashed 9.0 via ota over 8.1 and let it go
I flashed it via ota over 8.1 and than do factory reset.
Every time there was one problem, that 8.1 did not had.
Battery (Without any reason, tools did tell that it was fine, but it was draining)
Speed : Feels like u miss 20FPS vs. Oreo (Dayly usage, i do not game).
Autobrightness will not work even after 10+Days. It does not remember my usage...
But now its okay. Everything works.
Maybe its the DBT. Because some of us had the same problems that i encountered.
Funfact : Every single Bug or Problem i listed here appears not in every flash. Sometimes u get the brightnessbug and sometimes lockbuttonbug, sometimes speedbug....
And yeah, some user have the brightnessbug, some does not, but using same firmware. Some have the lockbuttonbuck and some didnt. Etc...
Its just buggy. But now i had enough luck to dont have all the bugs. So i stay on Pie
Edit : Sorry for my maybe bad english, but i think its understandable. No, i hope it is

i did all could be done , problem emerged when i flashed custom rom , since then i had excessive hot , flashed stock firmware and just getting worse
is knox tripping the cause ? if not , then what ?
What you're saying shouldn't ideally happen. I've had Samsung devices for a while now, almost rooted every single one of them & found that the performance actually got better. Check for water damage, it's highly unlikely but it may be a culprit. If the problem persists, take it to Samsung (we all know their track record with heating batteries)

Knox being tripped would not cause overheating. Don't suppose an app you have installed is causing the issue?.
If your convinced the phone is overheating even if on stock firmware, I would think the problem is hardware related.
I suggest visiting a Samsung service centre.
IDK know about Knox problems but I have been having issues with Android 10 ever since I updated. It runs great for about 10-12 hours and then something happens... It starts getting hot, runs like crap, super slow, the face recognition will stop working... It gets do bad I can barely unlock the phone. A reboot seems to fix the problem but only temporarily. Inevitably it does it again
Edit: and just to add to that, when it's running good I get much better screen off battery life than I did on pie. Seems to run smoother but that may just be me. The battery life however is hugely different. I keep track of deep sleep stats and battery users with bbs and Gsam

i can say the one mistake i did was flashing the wrong version of lineage 17 ( accidentally and wiped all at once) , that where everything started , i was flashing many wrong roms in my ex-phones when i was very newbie , but non of them had overheating issue

Latest Stable Build ? Stability Issues on newest updates? (Advice for new Owners)

Hi, I recently ordered an x2 pro (Global) based on its great on paper specs and the huge amount of glowing reviews on YouTube. But after I ordered I read on Realme's forums and a little on here about users experiencing multiple bugs in the newest update (c26) Including but not limited to , massive battery drain, slower charging, phone overheating, decrease in SOT by as much as 60%+, low FPS in games (especially PUBG), lag in launcher, microphone not working in calls unless you cycle speakerphone on/off etc. So that's a bummer if true. My question is kind of a poll of how many are experiencing this, or if its everyone? And if it is everyone, what is the recommended newest build until a fix comes out ? How is c24? Is it worth the minor bugs to have the newer interface, or is it just as unstable where I should just avoid Realme UI all together right now and just get the latest Color OS build ? Thanks and I look forward to everyones opinions and info.
Most of what you saw on C26 is not true ! What is true is loss of SOT primarily ! A significant portion of it ! Around 2 hours for me from 9 hours to 7 and that is really bad ! About PubG that is the game not the phone , to minimize "lag" use performance mode on game space ! Charging still is fine !
Remember most users are from India and summer is here so any phone will heat up .
What I recommend for most people that has their bootloader unlocked and has some custom recovery flashed is to go back to C24 . No battery problems and lags , is the best RealmeOS update FOR NOW !
Good luck ! You will love your new toy ?

Yeah the C24 android update is good , I can't find anywhere , but finally I found in Russian realme website , anyone wants to get this firmware , just download it from their site , the charging animation and the speed of the phone is also good .
Anyone know how to block the ota's ???
Thanks guys, going to install c24... It is prompting me to update to c26 from a10.... Anyone know how to disable ota's (temporarily) until a new update is out then I can turn it back on... If I knew what server it was checking I could block it or something. Anyone that know how to do this please let me know. Thanks in advance.
No real issues on c26 for me and I know a lot of people are happy,
No battery drain,in fact getting 10 and half hours SOT according to Accubattery,
Only charging once in the morning for 15 minutes,
Not a gamer so don't have the game lag that may just be an issue with the game such as PUBG,
No lag in launcher for me,using stock launcher with animations off,
Sound quality is actually louder and clearer for me than previous RUI updates
Only thing I did notice is occasionally hang in chrome where would just have to close chrome to get out.
C.24 I had worse issues with sound, hanging and phone restarting itself with flashing Realme logo.

Definitely,The newest update c27 is even better and as stable as colorOs,I Am in Europe but both the Indian and EU software is the same so you could get the software file from either support page and update, just download and use the file manager app to select the download file,
Easy
