Lost my MotoX sim tray, suggestions? - Moto X Q&A

Dear all,
Greetings,
So I have a MotoX xt1052 mobile and I lost the sim tray. Tried to search all over the internet for replacement but couldn't find any, they are either out of stock or not available anymore.
My question: I found some trays for xt1060 , will they work in my case? are they the same? and if so, then which models exactly have the exact sim tray model as mine?
Best Regards,

Edit:
It would think that the trays are compatible. I am not aware of any hardware variations other than radios.
I purchased parts from CNN.cn in the past. Also, if they don't list an item, simply email them: [email protected]

They're all the same. The only difference is the baseband and software to an extent.

Lost mine and found a replacement on eBay. Wasn't cheap ($20ish) but worked fine. XT1053

Mine was damaged (little bend) and I wrote to Motorola that sent me one for free!!! Only asked me for the serial number.

My N1 is SIM Lock or not ?

Hello
Sorry for my English but I'm French.
I live in New Caledonia, I bought a Nexus One still packed on ebay (no other way to get one in New Caledonia) and I have a problem.
My Nexus one says "No SIM card", I tried with 10 different SIM cards and I have the same problem (I put in the right direction, I checked several times).
Is it possible that my Nexus One is SIM Locked?
Who knows?
It is no longer guaranteed as I unlocked the bootloader, I saw the problem after.
Someone also tried to repair it and opened it, so if I should send it for repair I know that I should pay, but is it a hardware problem?
I hope it is simply SIM Locked, it would cost me less.
There is no such thing as SIM lock on Nexus. Please search next time.
Nope, it should not be SIM Locked. Actually, it WILL NOT be SIM Locked.
Sounds like the SIM card slot could be going out? Try wedging a few scraps of paper up underneath the SIM card as you insert it to hopefully get a bit more pressure against the contacts.
Good luck!
Did you contact the ebay seller? Sounds like you bought a defective unit.

There's your problem.
If you want broken junk, ebay's a sure thing!
Back then to HTC.
Thank you everyone

[Q] Blacklist Question

I was just curious if I purchased a used Milestone unlocked poped my bell active Bell sim card into it and it works fine does that mean the phone IMEI is fine and not black listed or is this something you can not tell intill you get the phone it's own Sim ? Just looking to buy a used Milestone [A853] for the wife so just want to make sure it's not black listed before purchasing.

I am not sure what you mean by blacklisted. Most operators allow you to run an unlocked phone on your sim without issues. We swap phones all the time at work and Rogers doesn't say anything. There only time i have seen a blacklist implemented was for a specific reason: the rogers htc dream/magic e911 patch. They would blacklist an IMEI until you patched and call customer service.
I have been with fido, rogers and bell and have not hear of blacklisting unlocked phones.

I have this sorted out now, thanks.

[Q] Bad MEID - Can it "spread" to IMEI?

Hi All,
I bought a droid 3 off of Ebay that was supposed to have a good ESN/MEID (the auction was very clear and also said it was good for Verizon activation) from a reputable seller (nearly 10k feedback and 99.6% positive). I usually use this phone with a SIM outside of the USA and it has been working mostly as it should. However, I'm looking at activating a prepaid account with Verizon for when I travel to the US because (as we all know) the US GSM bands are locked out.
Verizon tells me the MEID is bad. I have contacted the seller to see what we are going to do.
Here is my question: The ESN went "bad" only very recently (the day before the auction was posted). Can a blacklisted MEID later "spread" to your IMEI so that you can't use the phone anywhere, or am I pretty much guaranteed to be able to continue using it outside of the USA?
best bet? get ur money back. and contact ebay.

SIM Card will not Allow this connection

Hi Guys...
2 days ago i woke up and found that my phone had no signal. I thought that Rogers (my carrier) was screwing around or something. So i just restarted my device. Nothing.
I checked *#*#4636#*#* and my radio was on (toggled it on and off and on again) and the correct network types were selected (GMS/LTE/CDMA etc. I checked in the settings menu and the correct network types were selected again. Lastly APN settings were all entered for MMS, Data, LTE, etc.
I try to search for the network and it shows Rogers, Telus and Bell. I try to connect to Rogers and i get a message saying that "Your SIM card does not allow this type of connection".
I luckily had a backup from the day previous which i restored. No go there. I did a full clean wipe and install of Viper One RC2 and then a random AOSP-based ROM, again nothing.
the weird thing is that in the Phone Information menu the device reads my phone number and IMEI easiy, so its not like the phone isn't reading the SIM card...
Has anyone encountered this problem or have any suggestions? I have seen this error happen with other devices when i Googled it and searched XDA, but no solution or resolution, and definitely nothing specific to the HTC One.
Did you buy the phone new or used? I've seen this happen to people who bought used phones on ebay. There's a scam going in which the seller will wait a month to get outside the return period and then report it stolen. They get the $$$ and a new phone, and you're screwed.
If you bought it new, your sim card might be damaged.
I wish it was a SIM card issue, but it's not. I tried the same SIM in my Nexus 4 and it works just fine. My sister has an iPhone 4S, I swapped the SIM from it and it didn't work either.
The device itself is a Telus device unlocked that I bought locally brand new from a seller off of kijiji. The device was completely untouched and wrapped in all the right ways. I bought it back in June I think.

It may have been a brand new phone that the seller bought and immediately put up for sale.
You need to talk to Telus to see if the IMEI has been reported stolen.
So the device is definitely blacklisted in Canada...Rogers is saying it's Telus that blacklisted it. Telus is saying they never had the device in their inventory (IMEI doesn't show in their database), so it isn't their device and they didn't blacklisted it. Bell said they had in their database and its a deactivated IMEI, so...I'll be taking a trip to several corporate stores to get this sorted today.

Question No dual sim? Sm998B/DS UK version

Can anyone help I have bought an s21 ultra off very and it's rhe above model but only has a single sided sim? In the mobile phone part it shows sim one and two and e sim
It's definately a UK model - as it shows on the box
I wanted a dual sim and that's why I bought it is it an error in manufacturing or is it something new?
I am sure very buys from UK sources so I dont know what on earth is the issue
Any ideas or what I can do? Do I find a Samsung experience store and take it there?
Thanks
The simcard tray supports two sims on your model, a SIM on each side.
The SIM contacts should face you.

Well that's rhe issue the rear of the sim tray isn't the same as rhe other side.... It is not a sim holder
It's a genuine handset with genuine serial as I can register the warranty with Samsung UK
It's also UK model from the box
So I've no idea what's gone wrong I've ordered a new sim tray. Which should work and escalated it to very as to what the issue is
Huh, interesting.
The trays I'm used to seeing do not look like that - this is what it should look like:
Single SIM model trays don't look like yours either.
Odd!
Check the Knox status in Download mode for peace of mind.
Perhaps this is a refurb with a third party tray(?)
Also, dial: ##786# click "View" and see what it outputs for "Reconditioned".

The phone shows official in the Information about the phone and the code ##786# Doesn't seem to want to work
I've checked via phone info app and it shows original not refurbished so I'm now even more confused
Mine is a direct from Samsung UK 998B/DS with the above dual sim card holder.
Looks like you somehow got the tray for the US version, or you have a US variant with mis-matched firmware if that's even possible. Might try and find a dual sim, or just use eSim on your primary.
Pictures below from my US snapdragon variant.
