Is it possible to add more toggles to the pulldown panel? I'm looking to add the sound, sync, and NFC toggles.
Not without a custom ROM. ?

Not a feature available in stock or custom ROMs yet. Maybe in custom ROMs in the future.

Going to bump this because I too want an nfc toggle (just started using google wallet, so nifty). But I'm really and I mean really surprised no one talks about this or have even tried to implement custom toggles for the quick settings

Many custom ROMs implemented custom toggles.

If you don't want to change Roms only to do that you can also give XPosed Framework a try. I am running the Alpha 2 version at this moment with the Gravitybox module. Gravitybox is out for Lollipop for a week or 2 now. Just checked for you, I can add NFC, Sync and Volume toggles and lots more.
I use Power Toggles with the added bonus that the toggles are reachable from the lock screen.

I use Xposed Alpha 2 with Gravitybox LP and it works great for what you want.

I'm debating on doing this, but should I still do it or just wait for the 5.1 update then do this mod, because I do actually like staying stock this time around
Waiting ain't no fun

Apart from being being rooted, I have stock.
Updating with official updates is fairly easy, though a bit more work.
It works by downloading the update images from the google nexus website. And following this guide (executing a few commands): http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/guide-flash-factory-images-nexus-6shamu-t2954008
Check under the header 'Method 2 : (Long, but works always)'. Just make sure you skip the step which flashes userdata.img. This will wipe your userdata which you do not want.
Flashing boot.img will make you lose root, but after you can reapply root for that update and it should all still work.
--- UPDATE ---
Nevermind. XPosed doesn't work on 5.1 yet. Developer said it might take some time. See his statement here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59370883&postcount=5
Just do whatever you like.

All I really want is to enable my back button to serve as a menu button so I can get rid of the black bar. If I could add some settings toggles to the notification shade too, great, if not Power Toggles is working just fine. I like Sense 5, don't want to get rid of it. I don't want a heavily modded rom. Just want something as fast and stable as complete stock with the ability to add the tweaks mentioned above. I searched around and couldn't really find the answer, so if anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Patience. These things will come that I promise but they are not here yet. Give the devs a few weeks and you will be rewarded

I have no problems waiting. I always have a hard time finding what I'm looking for on XDA so I wasn't sure if it was just me being a derp about the search or if it really wasn't out yet.

Thanks to you both.

Custom rom is the best way. Maybe Xposed in future when it's out of alpha.. Some settings will auto- add to qs after use of the settings but it seems pretty unreliable to me
Gravitybox will allow you to do this pretty easily (as in, it's easy if you can get xposed running on your ROM).
I'm running it flawlessly on hoppySlim. I haven't tried on any of the other ROMs that are supposed to work with xposed or with a stock image.
Hi all! I was planning on waiting for the official release of 6.0, but my Nexus 6 hasn't been wiped in over half a year and is starting to get laggy.
Before I flash M Preview 3, I was wondering if the following functionality that I usually achieve through MCR Control on 5.1 was available in any way on M Preview (via mods, etc):
Reverse position of Back and Multitask buttons on nav bar
Double tap to wake screen
Show percentage inside battery icon in status bar
Add reboot button in notification shade
Enable LED while charging
The most important thing in the list for me is probably swapping the position of the Back and Multitask buttons, since this greatly increased the ease of using the Nexus 6 one-handed for me (and my muscle memory grew accustomed to it long ago). The rest of these features are nice-to-haves, but the Back button being on the left in stock is a significant enough change to potentially hold me back until someone mods it. Anybody know?
Thanks!
no, except batter percent is there.

Thank you so much for the thorough breakdown! It's good to know most of these things can be accomplished.
Hopefully someone can still figure out or provide instructions on how to swap the navigation buttons - in the meantime I'm going to hold off. Guess I did this to myself by letting myself get used to it!
No problem. I guess you can use auto hide soft keys. It allows you to move the buttons on a fake nav bar after hiding the stock one.
Fixed the app name.

Make a full nandroid backup to your PC and flash the M preview and you get quick answer on all your questions.
My experience was as follows:
A. flashing the P3 image is easy, but requires a factory reset.
B. M has the same ugly interface as Lollipop.
C. My GPS navigation app, does not work in M.
D. I did not notice a better performance.
E. I could not change the DPI setting, and has to live with the idiot Google defaults.
F. Customizing M needs still rooting etc.
G. Installing M wiped the internal storage, including backup. ( transfer to PC first )
At this moment I am back to 5.1.1 because two essential apps do not work.
Disappointing is that M still has no special features/settings for phablet devices with hires amoled displays. For instances dpi-settings and g-apps with a black/dark background.
Can anyone running M Preview perhaps check whether SoftKeyZ works on there to swap Back and Multitask? It reportedly works fine on the Nexus 6 with 5.x, but I don't see anyone who's tried it on 6.0 yet.
XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/themes-apps/root-softkeyz-apply-mix-softkeys-t2219804
APK (from developer's site): http://janiselfert.com/data/SoftKeyZ.apk
So I can't seem to find if this has been solved yet.
Trying out Sixperience/Insanity/etc and the torch toggle from S7 SystemUI works fine.
Now running 6.0.1 touchwiz on a G900F (for NFC, Hotspot and fingerprint).
Not an S7/N5 port, etc.
There's no torch toggle in quick settings.
If I use the S7 SystemUI.apk file, torch works fine, but it stops fingerprint working on the lockscreen and affects some other graphics.
So. Does anyone know how to add the torch toggle to the stock 6.0.1 quick settings?
Not an app, not a widget, not a double-click shortcut; integrated like stock.
Cheers
If you install samsungs "Good Lock" it will replace your systemui with one that includes the torch. The apk is linked somewhere in these forums.

I also would like to integrate torch to MM S5. Is it available trough xposed modules?
I tried Good Lock and there is a torch but missing a lot of other toggles. I' like more stock Samsung UI.

Soon in my xposed module.
Made it work, just needs a few tweaks.

Yeah sad but true, I use good lock purely for the torch. Can't live without torch toggle.. All the other improvements I can live without (though i don't miss any of the toggles it lacks)
I try to add data Togle but it imposible. I can't find how to do it with sdlite editor
My torchlight mode in my xposed module is ready.
I just use the Toolbar toggle.
Xposed is great but i would rather use flashable zip if available or manually if there is easy way with tutorial.

You can't.
The settings.db doesn't exist anymore in Android 6.0.1.
The settings are now in this folder as xml file - data/system/users/0/settings_system.xml
Changing this xml manually resets all the device settings and causes a lot of trouble.

Good lock .apk from apkmirror works with MM
Galaxy tools seems to work with MM to add everything except torch. You can edit the toggles, move them around where you want. All toggles work great. I run that with Xposed and Firefds kit. It goes weeks with no abnormal behaviour, but if you reboot those extra toggles are gone again.
I just put my main ones back at the top. WiFi,location, mobile data, sound, bluetooth. Just flip all the tiles down for the rest.
Maybe someone that's had more sleep than me can figure out how to make it stick.

Same ?
It's there any way to add the bluetooth toggle in the notification tray area? I can't believe is missing...
As an alternative, any chance to add a shortcut to the bluetooth setting screen from the home section?
Cheers
I'd also like to see something like this. Currently running FireOS 5.3.1 with root.

Not with native FireOS. Gravitybox and several other Xposed modules can do it but require root. Same for similar Play Store apps. Best bet is an app that adds device toggles as permanent notifications. Power Toggles worked well on KitKat but dev notes some unresolved issues with Lollipop which FireOS is based on. Good luck.

TBH it didn't even occur to me to look for an app in the store [quietly facepalms]. This isn't obviously a solution to the poor UI design but functionally does exactly what I wanted, so thanks for the direction Davey
I use the app "Notification Toggle". Solved my Bluetooth access needs.
