PC doesn't recognize my SGSA (probably due to broken connector, it charges fine tho) so I cant use Odin, stuck on a bootloop with LiquidSmooth and CWM installed. Can load roms on sd card but I've tried a few and none of them booted. What do?

Did factory reset?

Im taking over a broken Vibrant with multiple issues. Currently has CM7 Nightly (04/11/2011) installed. I plug it into my PC and it will only charge. There is no notification prompt for USB connection. I have tried formatting the internal and external sdcards, and a factory wipe, still doesn't work.
ROM Manager doesn't recognize the CWM currently installed. It has 3.0.0.5, but rom manager shows 2.5.1.2, and reboot into recovery function doesn't work, it just does a normal reboot.
I have tried flashing different ROMs and Kernels via CWM, but none will work. I also tried re-rooting with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723479 but that didn't work either. Cant use Odin because I can't connect to PC.
Any suggestions? Forgive me, I'm still kinda noobish, lol.
Does anyone have a clean backup folder that I can restore in CWM? Seems like that's about the only thing I can do right now. Thanks.
Not 100% sure but would not a post in the Vibrant forum have got more answers .

Hello everyone,
I installed a rom on my rooted phone and it did not go well. Now the phone is bricked.. Normally I would be able to fix this. But a few months ago the phone stopped being recognized by my computer. Still charges but the port is damaged some how and no pc will recognize it. I can not get it into recovery I have tried and tried again and again. Still stuck in android with the triangle around it. And sometimes I will get a symbol with a phone-triangle-pc. Does this mean it is done, shot, bricked for ever? LOL
You could replace the micro usb port...
Connect phone to pc and run samsung kies it will repair files then open kies, go to tools and install drivers then get into download mode and flash with odin

I can fix this. Send me a PM.
I am having a similar issue. My phone is soft bricked on the AT&T splash screen with no ability to get it into recovery. The micro USB is completely non-functional.
I am (was?) running CM7 when the problem occurred. I have considered just about every option I can think of (and have had the phone together and apart twice to see if I could get the port working... no dice) including having the phone boot from an external SD card but this still seems to need some ability to get into recovery, which I do not have.
Any creative solutions (short of just buying a new phone...)

You could send it to the guy above to have a new micro usb port installed or MobileTechVideos.com. I had them fix a hard brick on my Captivate and would use their services again in a heart beat if I needed to.
So I'm stuck in bootloop in ICS stuck for some reason, and trying to flash stock GB.
For some reason my PC cant recognize my phone after the boot loop happened..
If I have tried reinstalling KIES and everything but nothing seems to work. It has something to do with the samsung mpt driver that doesnt install correctly..
How am I supposed to flash kernel and firmware if I cant get the phone to connect?

Well It came up with an update about ICS, so I updated the phone and rooted. After a couple of weeks it just froze, and when I tried to turn it on again it hangs on the samsung logo..
I have tried pulling out the battery and restarting from cwm, but it doesnt work.
Smells like bricking...

Try reflashing stock gb via pc odin. If it works, do a factory reset / wipe on gb. Never do that on ics. Its got the eMMC brick bug. Once done that, flash any other rom that you like.
If the flashing fails at factoryfs writing in pc odin, your phone is affected by the ics brick bug.
If ur phone is still under warranty and your binary count is zero, go to the service center and tell them that your phone wont start after updating. Dont tell them that you had updated a week ago and that you rooted. Claim warranty.
Else you can repartition the internal sdcard using forest's guide or the pit method. Youll loose about 3 gb of the internal space and your brick bug will still haunt.
Claim warranty would be better.

Do you have abyss or custom rom in your phone?
Hi,
I have a Galaxy S (I9000) which the USB is not working (I have tried cleaning it, different cables, different computers). I am not sure if the issue is due to a corrupt ROM image? I only say this because when I have the USB cable connected, and turn on the phone I get a picture of the battery (flat) with the white wheel/ring which freezes in the same position and nothing happens afterwards - I can only boot the phone with no cable connected.
As I do not have any USB connectivity, it means I cannot use Odin to perform any upgrade.
Anyone have any suggestions?
thanks
I have been searching the forums and I have installed Clockwork Mod recovery, but I would like to do a backup before I try anything. To perform a ROM backup you need root access. I have tried Gingerbreak but it does not want to work.
I know this is a newbie question and maybe my head is a bit full today of all the reading. Is it possible to download a ROM i.e. slimics, copy it to the SD card (external), put the phone into recovery mode and update from the SD card?
Or have I missed a major fundamental area
thanks

Okay. Two possible solutions (i think the last is solve your problem).
1. First download cm11 rom and gapps.
Copy the files over your sd card.
Try install via recovery.
If you lucky, that's worked, but i think the rom is not work properly.
2. The good way is odin and then cm11 with clean install.
Sorry for my bad english
