[Q] Battery drain after booting - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I have noticed that sometimes after booting, my Moto X 2014 gets a considerable battery drain, for example: if it's in 50% battery, after rebooting it gets 40%...
Is it a software or hardware problem?
I don't have root yet, so what can I do to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Wifi draining battery

Hi, How are you?
I have a Moto X 2014 (Model XT1097) with Android 5.0 (Build LXE22,46017), and I am experiencing issues with Wi-fi draining to much battery.
I mean, My Wi-fi drain around 20% to 30% of battery, even with Wi-fi disable all the time.
Is this Wi-fi's battery consumption expected?
Thanks in advance,
Roger

Problem with Battery

Hi!
I just recently bought a Moto X 2014 (Second gen) and for some reason, it turns off when it reaches 10% battery left. I got scared and I thought it was a problem with the battery itself. The issue is that when I charge the phone, it starts from 0% battery, and then increasing to 1%, 2%, etc. At 90% usage, it then goes off and ignores the remaining 10%. That’s why I can’t determine if it’s a battery calibration issue or a hardware Issue.
Thanks beforehand
My girlfriend and I have the exact same issue. We have the Moto X pure editions, mine is rooted with TWRP, and hers is totally stock. I haven't had much luck resolving this issue either.
Same problem here. My wife has a 2nd gen Moto X as well (mine is pure, hers is AT&T). This started about 2-3 week s ago I think and they both started doing it at the same time. I'm hoping its software, but who knows.
I don't know if my issue is exactly the same, but in the same vein. My phone was on the charger and was at 96% at 10pm. Woke up at 2am to feed the baby and unplugged it from charger. By the time I got done taking care of the baby, I picked up the phone and the battery was at 60% and was very hot to the touch. The usage monitor said that the display was the big user but how can that be when it was off!

Maybe you had left some apps running
They keep running in background untill you properly shut them down.
Running apps will always wakeup your cpu, screen even if youre not using them.

I had this problem previously, but now my phone will shutdown if below 1%. I dont know what I've done, maybe the battery calibrating it self.

[Q] Moto X 2013 Battery Broken / Jumps? Not: Cell Standby Bug or Play Services.

Hey,
since OTA updating my Ghost (Moto X 2013 xt1052) to the stock version of Lollipop 5.1 I am experiencing a very strange battery behaviour. I have noticed these three cases:
1: Battery displays 1% but the phone will work for another two to three hours until it will power off itself
2: Phone sometimes dies when at levels like 30%
3: Battery consumption is not the best but OK. It drains relatively stable but after reaching 15% it will most likely jump from 15% to 4% and then 1% in a few minutes. Can jump up and down then
I tried letting it drain and charging it up fully while turned off. No effect.
I also tried factory reset and wipe naturally. No effect.
I tried installing a debulked version of the stock rom. No effect.
I flashed CM 12.1 an have the same issues. Plus now the battery level jumps in the stats somethimes although the phone is defenitely not plugged in or charging.
I would like to show you a screenshot of my battery stats here that illuminate the problem quite well but as a newbie I cant
PS: I also have the very common bug where the phone updates all the installed apps at startup when it is started while plugged to a charger. Maybe this is connected?
I couldn't find any info about this behavior. Can you help me? It certainly looks like a bad battery but it intrigues me that the problem occurred only after updating to 5.1. Might it also be a driver or firmware problem of some sort? Some sort of software that does not change when ROMs are switched?
Thanks! Lorenz

Moto X XT1058 drains new battery

Hi!
After 2 years I had troubles with my old battery so I decided to buy a new one. After to replace it I realized my device still drains this battery as same than old battery (it lasts 10hrs as maximum in use, standby or airplane mode. No solution). I already have tested Custom ROMs like CM 11, 12 and currently it has Pacman ROM 5.1.1 and battery continues draining.
Can anyone confirm if this trouble is caused by my device's logic board?
Thanks.
Any answer?
