I have been reading about peoples problems with their phone and now I'm worried about what if my phone breaks. Can I get it replaced even though I'm not an AT&T customer. I bought it at a CompUSA which is going out of business and signs in the store said All Sales Final No Returns.
do any of ur friends have att? if so just exchange it through their acct. if not you have to go thru HTC directly which isnt fun because u send them your phone..
Don't worry about it. As long as you have the Receipt you're fine.
Call cingular customer service and ask to be redirected to warranty exchange. It's still under it's 1 year warranty and you do have a proof of purchase.
Don't trip out because you got it from CompUSA.
What XBM will do most likely is a.) either send you the replacement and ask that you send the broken phone back ( they'll fill you in on the details ) or b.) they'll redirect you to HTC's warranty exchange process ( almost the same thing but postage paid handling might not be available and/or you may need to send the device to them first. A word of caution though, HTC's warranty exchange may be on the lookout for custom roms.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the respsonses
I can't imagine AT&T being nice enough to exchange a phone for a rival's service. I had to do an exchange with my Hermes several months back before I got my tilt, and I DID have to give my account information and all of that. If I were you I would check into HTC's warranty program. And as far as going through a friend...that may work, but my guess is it would depend on if the IMEI number of your phone has been registered with their system previously or not. I know for sure that some AT&T representatives have been instructed that the warranty is null and void if change of ownership takes place. I had a similar fiasco with that same Hermes, and had to pester them by calling and speaking with 4-5 people before they finally caved in and let me do it. But it took a lot of talking and I'm pretty persistent.
The first thing they ask you is: "can I have your cell phone number starting with area code please" if you don't have an account with them, look for someone that does....
Guess I'm S.O.L. since I got mine on eBay. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with it
Call Asurion & buy the insurance. Mine was like 60.00USD per year.

The phone comes with a 1 year manufacturers warrenty.
AT&T will not exchange it for you, unless you're one of their customers. The AT&T exchange requires you have an account with them. It's a service to make things easier for their customers, rather than having to deal direct with the manufacturer.
You'll have to pay for shipping both ways though. To and from HTC if it breaks. Make sure you buy some insurance on it through the shipping carrier. (I shipped a W600i a few years ago and if the phone would have been lost, I would have been SOL).
As long as you have the reciept, at&t will honor the warranty. You will probably have to jump through hoops trying to explain the situation to the support rep, and get tossed around from department to department, but once you find a half-way intelligent representative, they should be able to help you. I had to do the same thing, as I bought my tilt from frys, and I got a RLoD about a month after i got it. Fry's didn't have anymore in stock so I went to the at&t store and used their phone to call the warranty deopartment. They told me they were going to create a non-member account (since i dont have an at&t account) or something of the sort, so that my info would be in their system. All I would have to do is fax them the receipt from frys, and then I would get a replacement from the store. Well it turned out that I had forgotten the reciept so I was gonna come back the next day and get it replaced, but that night I was reading up on the RLOD issue and messing around with my tilt, and I managed to fix it. Long story short, at&t will honor the warranty on an at&t branded phone, provided you have the receipt and a couple of hours to wait on hold. Oh, and the patience to explain your story 12 times to 12 different retards, until you fin a non-tard. laterz.
I worked for the company for several years and no they will not xbm. You need to have a post paid account and also have the imei registered on the account . If you call xbm they will just redirect you to the manufacturer.
im starting a new business and im looking for an email service provider that i can get push notifications to my cell (epic touch 4g). i know those aint free like gmail or hotmail but looking for something good but economic

http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/business/index.html
It costs $5 a month, and you'll get [email protected] and you'll be able to add different business tools/apps to your account. It will work like regular Gmail, and it's easy to set it up on your phone. 30 days free trial.
any other option out there i could possible consider before deciding on this one
i used 1and1 when i started my business. it came with 50 email slots for employess and a stock website that was easy to change around. I was very happy with them and their service.

I think Microsoft has something similar. Haven't used Domain.com but it's $1.99 /month.

nothing, sold that business to a bank for a lot of TARP money
I am planning another company in the few months and i definitely will use them again because it was so easy. One word of advice, when you check different registries for name availability, they will hold that name so you can't take it from godaddy to myfreedomain.
Give 1and1 a look. they also have a sales department you can call with questions to make sure they do meet your individual needs.
thinking of going with Gmail for business i use the trial and see how it goes
hey the business im starting is a trucking business and have been having trouble with coming up with the name thats not already being used by someone else
We will work CA, AZ, NV, NM, TX , mainly with Produce and Dry freight we bring in alot of international product into the states (yes i know this is waaaayyyy off topic but if you can help that be great)
cant find anything so last resort is
740 Transportation ... what do you guys think???
Gmail All the Way and +5 more and you can add 25 gigs to your account. Really Good.
The problem with gmail is the support. It was impossible to receive decent support... I agree with free service = no support. But not when you pay.
Look for a hosted exchange company that is available on phone, by chat or email. It was the major point in my decision.
So I have read a few threads about using the Moto Maker with a verizon corporate account, and I finally got a redemption PIN. The people who work at verizon stores/support seem to know nothing about how this phone is ordered, but somebody at corporate support was able to help me.
The problem is that when they send you a pin, bamboo is no longer an option. I called my same person back up, and she said she was going to look into it, but it seemed like bamboo may be an online-only option (and therefore not compatible with verizon corporate accounts).
Has anybody here successfully been able to get a bamboo phone with verizon corporate? It might just be out of the question. I really like the moto maker concept, but it is practically incompatible with corporate accounts.
This may help
So I've been playing around with Moto Maker for the past few days. My assumption is the bamboo may have been removed as an option as it is an extra $100. What I noticed, though, is on the last step, there is a spot to enter a redemption PIN. In my experience, Just got to MotoMaker, make your Moto X, and that's where you'll find this option. I've only handled personal account, so I don't have a lot of insight with corporate accounts and their restrictions, so you're PIN may not work on that screen.

Unfortunately, I have found out that the bamboo unit is it's own SKU, and verizon can't sell you a pin for it. I'm just going to get another color scheme.
Thanks for the idea, though.

I fought with this for over a month and finally figured out how to get the Bamboo Back (or any of the wood backs) with a corporate or business account. You go to your Verizon Store (may work with other carriers) and purchase a redemption code for the phone without the wood back. When you get the code don't follow the link that says "Design Yours" that comes in the email. You go directly to MotoMaker.com and build the phone you want and make sure to add a set of headphones or earbuds to the order (you will cancel them before purchasing but you must add them to the order or it won't work). When you get to the screen where it asks what carrier you are with (don't click a carrier) go to the bottom of page on right side and enter your redemption code. Enter your credit card info and at the last step it will review your order and at that screen you can cancel your headphones and you will just pay the $25.00 for the wood back + any taxes. It worked for me. I actually bought a phone almost a month ago and didn't like the color but I kept being told you couldn't buy the wood back phone with a redemption code so I finally decided to exchange the phone I got with a color I would rather have (I originally ordered Cherry Red and it looks like dark pink). During the return process they gave me a new redemption code and I kept playing with the system until I was able to figure out a way to get the Bamboo back phone. If you bought another color call Motorola and tell them you want to exchange it for another color and follow the directions above as it worked for me...
Hi everyone,
I ordered my 2014 Moto X just like everyone else on 9/16 and the next day I realized I made a mistake and wanted to change from AT&T to Pure version if I could. They said I will have to chat later, and I talked to them everyday till 9/26 when they said they cancelled the order and I will get a refund to order another one since that is the only way to do it at Motorola.
After a couple days, I got the phone even though Motorola site shows it as not shipped, Motorola chat told me it was cancelled and I should not have gotten the phone and I will get refund in a week.
I shipped the phone back, they got it on 10/07 and since then I have talked to them every single day about the phone and they still haven't refunded me or helped me in any other way.
I did find a couple of people helpful but it's not helping. It's been way over a month and I'm out a lot of money and I don't have a phone either. Does anyone have any hookups or contacts at Motorola who can help me out maybe? A number other than generic 1-800 number that would have a better answer than 24-48 hours or 7-10 business days?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Try this number between 8 am and 5 pm CST. White glove level 2 support.

Hope that gets you someone you need.
Just got my Moto X. Not really liking the back of it. How long do I have to exchange it without any problems?

14 days
Just got done with an online chat. They said they no longer offer the buyers remorse at 14 days? That I have to return the phone and order a new one if I want to change my back. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I call instead of the online chat? Before when I did this I got a pin number ordered the new phone and then got it, then I sent back the old one.
So I called this morning. And sure enough the person on the phone said she has no idea why online chat would say no more buyers remorse. They still have it. So I got that and my pin to exchange the phone. One thing I did notice was when I called I got someone from the USA. And with the online chat I'm sure it was outside the USA, since they were misspelling half the words and sentences. Maybe they are not as well informed as their U.S. counter parts......
