I noticed improvement in battery life of my 9 months old Nexus 5 after updating the google search from play store.
Did you noticed it too?? If not than update your google search and tell me.

Hey guys, couple days ago I was asking for an iPhone 5 vs. Nexus 4 speed test. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993479
And we all thought that iPhone 5 would crush. However, first such test has come from phonebuff and Google is anything but crushed. And with a browser barely in beta... With a couple updates, this phone will be a monster.

I thought chrome is out of beta now.

Yeah, but on paper. Anyone using Chrome for some time would understand.

Agreed 100%.
Chrome hasn't really improved since the second beta, scrolling is still horrible.
Dolphin browser would've destroyed iphone. Also Facebook app sucks for Android and how about some multitasking and switching between apps that's where the 2gb ram shines

Please continue the discussion in your already existing thread which you reference in the OP. Not sure why you create another.

Looks like I am going to get my note back from Mrs finbaar whiles he gets my N4. I have been in the world of Nexus for 13 months so the only roms that interest me are aosp based as I think I would faint if I had to use TouchWiz. So my question is is the TV out function working on the 4.3 roms. I am sure I read in one thread that this was unsupported but I can't find that now. Thanks for your help.

Unsupported and there is no chance of it being supported. Also, you may be a bit shocked with the Note and AOSP
Ah great. Things are to stable in Nexus land anyway.

I experience something interesting after updating to kitkat.
Yesterday morning, I found my Nexus 7 with the update notification. Battery was at 55%, so I have installed the update. I left the Nexus 7 at 50% (updated to kitkat). When I returned home in the evening, the battery was at 47%.
Previously, My nexus 7 could loose from 10-25% in 12 hours of standby.
I just charged up the tablet, to see if the second charge is similar (or if it was a battery calibration glitch).
Battery life while using was similar as before.
Don't tell me that you created a new thread just to tell us how unpredictable battery can be after OTA ?
I'm getting poor battery life as well trying to figure out whats causing it

Thread closed as battery life depends on users' usage.
Does anyone know what has been fixed or updated from the original android 5.0 LNX build to the upgraded 5.0 build then from 5.0 to 5.0.1? I couldn't find a change log from google or fixes or anything for that matter
Thank you

Battery life is subjected to how you use your phone. Minimize your wake locks and ensure your phone is deep sleeping.
Battery life is hardly affected by a ota unless there was a crucial error on Google part causing wakelock which Google play services is the main culprit.

How to I ensure the phone goes into deep sleep when the screen is off?

make sure that you install apps that dont keep your phone awake.
Don't think I have any. Simms I'm still trying to kill my battery, but trying to not go crazy. I've noticed chrome is quite battery consuming...
Utorrent as well, but I expect that from a p2p client

He wasn't asking about the Note nor a Lollipop to Kit Kat comparison.
