Hello,
I converted my HTC One with Sense 5-Android 4.4.2 to a HTC One GPe with Android 4.4.3 rooting and flashing it. Everything worked fine and my next goal was to update the phone to Stock Android 5.0.1. I was reading a lot of posts about the process to "officialize" my phone, and basically I followed the instructions of "The Wolf Paulus' journal - HTC One M7 gets Lollypop – and here is how" post.
This process was a partial success. I installed the Stock Recovery (instead TWRP 2.8.X, which I installed in order to flash the phone) and changed the CID to GOOGL001 like the post said, but when I tried to install the "update.zip" file with the Stock Recovery, the installation was aborted.
Finally I rebooted my HTC and surprisingly, the phone "saw" the OTA Update to Android 4.4.4, so I went ahead and the update process was completed without problems. I was very happy because I thought that, as the phone had seen the 4.4.4 OTA Update, it should see also the 5.0.1 OTA Update... But actually it don't see it.
After that, I tried to repeat the process installing the update from the Stock Recovery, but every time I try, the installation is aborted, so I don't know what to do. The phone works really fine with 4.4.4 but I would like to update to take advantage of the new characteristics of Android. I really appreciate some kind of help here.
The phone information is:
Model Number: HTC One
Android Version: 4.4.4
Baseband Version: 4A.22.3263.03_10.38n.1157.04L
Kernel Version: 3.4.10-gef77362

If your phone is S-OFF then you could just use the 5.0.1 GPE RUU to flash it to the latest version and it will be 100% stock, no need to mess with recovery flashing etc.
That RUU and instructions how to flash it can be found in the HTC One Android Development sub-forum.

Ok, thanks a lot! But only one question, if I flash the 5.0.1 GPE RUU, will I be able to update the phone via OTA in the future?
Again thanks a lot.

For the record, I flashed the RUU posted by graffitix and I totally worked, so, I'm on Android Lollipop 5.0.1 for HTC One GPe. Thanks a lot for the help.

Hi all,
I'm currently on 1.31.651.2 (Android 4.1.2) and just started getting the notifications to update to 3.04.651.2 (Android 4.3). I'm currently Unlocked but with S-On, with TWRP installed. The Stock ROM is rooted for my convenience.
What is the best course of action to get to 4.3? I know I can't OTA without putting Stock Recovery on and I'd like to avoid doing that right now.
From what I'm reading and seeing there is a Rooted 4.3 Odex/DeOdex ROM, but I'm wary from people saying it hasn't worked 100% right. I also am reading that I should do S-Off before doing it (for the radios?).
So what should I do? I'd really like to get onto 4.3 and I'm not certain of the upgrade path at this point. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!

You don't necessarily need to update your firmware, nor your radio to update to 4.3
Right now there are 3 android 4.3 ROMs which are buggless.

Flashing firmware and radio is OPTIONAL, your phone will work fine even without them
IF you want you can flash only the radio(no need s-off) http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23159073880933335
IF you want to flash the firmware you need to be s-off first. The new firmware contains a new touch driver, so before flashing it you'll need to update TWRP to the latest (2.6.3.0) if you haven't already. The firmware can be found here http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23159073880933456
Note if you update your firmware touch won't work if you install a 4.1.2 ROM, it works only on 4.3 ROMs

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure what the firmware files were for. I was looking at the stuff in the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467607
I really want to keep a stock rom, and that's stock + root. Since I think I want to flash the firmware file (new drivers yay!) I'll need to do S-Off first. That's exactly the info I needed. I already have TWRP 2.6.3.0 (that's the one part I saw that I could understand and I always like to run the latest anyways).
Really appreciated. Thanked.
Sorry to piggy back, but how can we make sure we are on the new firmware or not? I flashed it but I remember seeing an error in the CMD window and want to make sure it went through ok.

For those interested, here's the path I took in full:
1) Installed TWRP 2.3.6 while on old (rooted) stock.
2) Obtained S-Off using revone including getting rid of the tampered flag. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582 )
3) Installed Full firmware from O.M.J. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467607 )
4) Installed Rooted Stock from same URL as Step 3.
5) Reinstalled TWRP 2.3.6 from the TWRP website using fastboot commands.
6) Flashed SuperSU 1.65 from the kit ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244060 )
I now have 4.3 rooted Stock with the latest firmware.
Thanks to all who commented, but especially elvisypi. I was reading through the O.M.J. thread and saw you answered a lot of my questions in there. My bad for not reading before going and posting. Thanks regardless.
I am running a fully unlocked s-off, super cid, HTC one. I recently upgraded it to ARHD 5.1 kit Kat ROM and I also pushed the latest CWM recovery before flashing.
I want to upgrade the rest of the files that I am lacking since I didn't not flash a ruu or ota. What additional files do I need to flash in order to make my one all up to date as far as the latest kit Kat update.
What is the latest: hboot? Radio? Firmware? Any help will be greatly appreciated in helping me get 100% up to date.
Thanks!

I appreciate the advice and I do agree with not broke don't fix. I have a bunch of devices and always like to be synced with the latest ota updates.
I researched and found the 4.4 firmware, and radio and will flash them later on. How about hboot/ boot loader?

Is it actually true that one has to relock the bootloader and do a wipe in order to be able to flash a new firmware?
Also when flashing the latest firmware, the latest radio is right included, isn't it?
Just flash the radio man. Beware of the isssues people are having with 4.4 update. Just look at the last three four pages of this section.
I've recently upgraded to ViperOne 5.8 from 3.5 (and prior to that 1.0) on a Sprint HTC One running TWRP 2.7.0.1. I've never updated the firmware, done an S-Off or an Hboot update. Does anyone have recommendations regarding firmware version, hboot version and s-off software that work well with my setup. Thanks in advance.

I believe i understood you were s-off already. If so you could update your recovery to the latest 2.7.0.4b and i would update your firmware to the latest as well. As for hboot i flashed roots aroma hboot and worked perfectly.

No, it is not s-off presently. I originally rooted it a year ago when new and installed ViperOne 1.0.
Do you know where I can find the latest firmware? Are you suggesting I downgrade TWRP from 2.7.0.1 to 2.6.3.0?

No dont downgrade your recovery you will be ok there but you can update it if you want. Here is the link to the newest firmware bud http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687690. I would definitely recommend getting s-off though if i were you

Dude i've flashed every firmware update there was. The newest one would be the best for you but if not why not try them all then and find out which one works best for your phone. To be honest with you i would back up your apps and data with titanium backup from the playstore and then just do a full wipe in twrp meaning system and data as well. Just dont erase internal storage. Then reflash the rom zip and everything will be fresh and new. Then restore everything with titanium.
PS: just to let you know viper one has been updated to sense 6.0 if you check there link again.
Unforunately, I can't seem to do that now. Neither TWRP or Philz will allow me to do anything. Did I overwrite the SuperSU app?
Guys, I have 901E and on android 4.4 with sense 5.5, my device is rooted, bootloader unlocked and S-ON, I am trying to update to Sense 6, as I received an OTA update, as I did before, I returned back to stock ROM that available in this article (DLXPUL_TW_1.21.709.3.zip), then downloading the OTA directly from device, but currently when the update finish, device keeps going on boot loop, (starting device>>>hTC logo appear>>>then restart again), I need to flash boot image from the OTA file in order to bypass this issue......
please advise
EDIT: when updating from 4.2.2 to 4.3 (stuck on boot loop, need to flash boot.img)
when updating from 4.3 to 4.4.2 w/sense 5.5 stuck on the white screen with htc logo and beats audio
I made the same procedure before when I got 4.4.2 update with Sense 5.5 as I was also rooted on 4.3, please help, I might forget some steps....
Guys please advise......

Well, I, for one, can't help you because from your first post it is not clear at all what you did and what went wrong. Or what exactly you need from us. If you need the firmware image to flash, then just download the OTA package linked elsewhere in this forum, and extract the firmware from there. If you need more help, be more clear.

koniiiik thanks for your reply, let try to make it more clear....
- what I want: want to update my current version of Android.
- what I had before: Android 4.4.2 with Sense 5.5 and want to update to 4.4.2 with Sense 6 (as I received a notification to update).
- what modification I had: bootloader unlocked with htcdev, device is rooted, S-ON and TWRP installed.
- what I did: I flashed the stock ROM for my device (Android 4.2.2) in order to remove root and return to stock recovery and a complete stock ROM.
- why I did the last step: in order to get the OTA directly from device one by one (from 4.2.2 w/sense5 then 4.3 w/sense5.5 then 4.4.2 w/sense 5.5 and finally to 4.4.2 w/sense6).
- what I got: after flashing the stock ROM (Android 4.2.2 w/sense5) through TWRP, device works fine.
- then after downloading the OTA (4.3 w/sense 5.5) device stuck on bootloop
- what I did to bypass this issue: flashing boot.img from the OTA file.
- what I did next: downloaded the OTA (4.4.2 w/sense5.5) directly from the device, and install it.
- what I got: stuck on the white screen with htc logo (please not colors are not correct on the htc logo)
- what I did: tried to flash the boot.img from the OTA file, but this cannot help (just the colors are fine now)
- what is my question: why I need to flash boot.img as mentioned above? and how to get the 4.4.2 with sense 5.5 work (please be informed that I did the same steps to update to android 4.4.2 with sense 5.5 and everything works fine without any issues and no need to flash the boot.img as I mentioned before)

How did you install the OTA updates? Did you flash the stock recovery first, or were you trying to do that with TWRP? Did you try to download and install OTA updates by hand or did you let the phone itself download and install them? What are the precise version numbers involved? I'm not just interested in numbers such as 4.2.2, 4.3 or 4.4, but the full version string of the ROM, in each step. It sounds to me like you're trying to mix different branches of the system.

my friend I am not trying to mix anything, I just flashed ROM version 1.21.709.3 as mentioned above which it is available in the butterfly s General section through TWRP as mentioned also in the instructions in order to return back to stock, means stock ROM and recovery, then leaving the phone to download and install updates by itself

In that case I don't know. You might try to use the latest stock recovery, when installing the 3.06.708.3 update on my phone I found that I had to use the recovery from that update; using anything older just failed.
I apologize in advance if I should have posted this in a different area. Im not the best with that stuff.
As the title says, I want to remove TWRP and unroot my device. And yes I know there are many threads on this topic already, however none of them seem to actually get the job done. I have the Harmon Kardon edition for Sprint and I have been wanting to install this Lollipop update I got today.
So far, I have tried to use the RUU that a lot of tutorials seem to swear on, but when I start the process, it says that its not the correct version for my phone! (even though the tutorials say its for the harmon kardon eidtion)
Ive also used theUnlockrs tutorial and got stuck when there was no download for my CID number listed on the other xda developer post.
I then tried this tutorial and also couldnt find the correct files for my phone.
Heres what Im not understanding:
This isnt the first time I have rooted this device and unrooted it. I actually did this about 7 or 8 months ago and had no problem. Since then, I have removed all files and downloads that I used. SO WHY is everything wrong now? What am I doing wrong?
IF someone has the information I need to fix this problem, could you please help me? I just want lollipop!
Thank you,
sheer

Flash a stock rom.
Re-lock bootloader.
Flash stock recovery.
Take OTA.
Profit.
Side note it's not a good idea to wander outside the Sprint section because most threads refer to GSM devices.
