Hi, I have very weird issue with my Nexus 6. It loses all signal strength after few seconds when I connect my cable to the phone. The most weird thing is, that it only happens, when I connect it with the cable to the PC (I'm a developer so it is most of the time), but when I connect it to my charger, everything works well.
I'm attaching screenshot where is possible to see this quirky behavior .
Any advice?
Thank you guys!

Hi guys,
i have one very strange problem regarding TYTN II. It is almost new device, barely used but following things are happening:
1. Can not be charged while it is switched ON. In order to charge the battery i have to turn device OFF and than to connect it to the charger. Red light is instantly on and charging.
2. While it is ON and i connect it to the PC using USB cable, it is not recognized from operating system (it is not charging as well, it will charge though if i switch it OFF, same as with charger)
I can connect to my Tytn II using bluetooth and i have some questions.
Can i do HARDSPL 7 while conected to Tytn II via Bluetooth?
I want to upgrade my ROM using upgrade from SD card because obviously upgrade can not be performed using USB cable.
I did hard reset before i put this issue on the forum, can this be caused by the software or only hardware?
Thanks for input.

Check the settings->System->power. check whether the option "When device is turned on,do not charge the battery when connected to the pc" is selected. if so unselect it.
Already did that before first post, that option is not selected.
It is not only charging but TYTN II is not recognized while connected to the computer via usb cable.
this tytn ii is getting charged only and only if it is switched OFF, source can be computer or original charger.
I can get connected via bluetooth for data and my other question is if i can do HARDSPL 7 through bluetooth conection?
thanks.

If its vista system then you probably need to disable the advanced USb functionality and try again.
To your next question, i havent seen anything till now that talks about flashing through bluetooth.
it is happening on both, vista and xp.
that is interesting question actually. Did anyone tried to flash over bluetooth connection, without using cable?
I would certainly prefer to use cable but my tytn ii does not get recognized when connected with the cable.
thanks
What have you done on the PCs to prepare them first?
Have you installed the software in the box on your PC before connecting the USB cable (Activesync 4.5) for Win XP desktops or the latest Windows Mobile Device Centre for Windows Vista? You need these before it'll connect/sync even though it's possible to use bluetooth without it.
Yes, on XP is installed Active Sync 4.5 and on vista i am using is latest Windows mobile device center.
Did you try disabling Advanced Network Functionality on the phone?
So other than trying what was already suggested and disabling Advanced Network functionality on the phone, I think it's time to call your countries HTC Support people.
FWIW whether or not you can use Advanced Networking Functionality is determined by the capability of the USB ports on your desktop PC. When I first got my TyTN II I couldn't get it to connect/sync at all and through trial and experimentation I came across the disable advanced networking workaround. Even with it disabled though I still found my Activesync connections to be unreliable and subject to frequent disconnections. I was using the native (and old as the hills) Via Appolo Pro USB 1.1 ports on my motherboard. I decided to upgrade to USB 2.0 so installed a quality NEC chipped PCI USB 2.0 adapter card. That means I now can use Enhanced Networking Functionality and I have not had an Activesync connection fail since. It was well woth the £9 it cost me for the card.
Everything is clear, thank you very much for your replies and advices. I`ll try to find HTC authorized service and let them judge
Thanks once again.

Is WiFi on?
My Vodafone v1615 (Kaiser) will not connect over USB if WiFi is enabled. No connection problem when WiFi is disabled via Comm Manager. Suggest you try this.
I tried everything i could think of, with or without sim card, with flight mode on, with GSM on but wireless off, name combination i tried it. Gave the phone to the friend who has exactly same model to try with his battery and if that does not work than i`m out of ideas except to send it for service.
I also noticed that if i leave phone on charger and OFF, red light lit for charging.
It can sit on charger for 24 hours but light does not change color to green (Full battery) but remains red.
I believe there is a problem either with battery or some component which is tightly connected to the usb socket/battery.
Will post results on monday/tuesday when i get my phone back.
Thanks everyone for input.

Same Problem

Same problem as well
I just got my phone yesterday, and it had the same problem out of the box
it will not charge unless it's completely off, and it will not sync through a usb cable, when i connect it through USB it just keeps restarting, If anyone can come up with a solution short of returning my brand new phone back to the factory I would greatly appreciate it
USB charge & sync problem
What you have with your phones must be a hardware defect. I have the exact same problem with my Tytn II, but I know how it happened -- out of full stupidity. While at work, I connected it to a mini USB plug to charge, however to my surprise I found out that it was not 5v but 12v. I bought two external chargers and two extra batteries and I've been carrying around a pair of charged batteries since then. To be honest, because the phone notoriously drains the batteries very quickly having spare batteries is more practical than pluging it in and waiting for it to charge.
This is a really strange one that I've never heard of happening before. Whenever I plug my Diamond into a computer via USB, Windows says "USB device not recognised". In the past, when transferring files, the connection would just cut out at times and I would need to unplug and plug the phone back in to get it to work.
The strange thing is that the charging and audio from the port still works.
I have done a hard reset before and it hasn't fixed the issue, I really don't want to have to send this back to HTC as I need my phone.
I went into menu -> settings -> connectivity, and set the USB connection to "Always Ask" when connecting to a computer so that it would ask me if I want to use Charging/Mass Storage/Media Sync/etc. Even with that box checked, no matter what I do, when I connect the phone to my computer, it does NOT ask me what USB connection mode to use. Can anyone else confirm whether or not they experience this problem?
Thanks!
SOLVED - driver conflict with my Samsung Epic. Connecting one then the other wreaks all sorts of havoc.
call Verizon or LG for that support..OR try your control panel windows settings..devices

Is the little USB symbol showing up in the notification bar?
If not...try a different USB port on the computer.
Sounds dumb, i know...but it worked for me today when I had the same problem. And I think I recall it working on my old Incredible.

SOLVED - driver conflict with my Samsung Epic. Connecting one then the other wreaks all sorts of havoc, between mass storage mode and whatnot. When I switch the LG from charge to mass storage and back on the fly, it's doing something to the samsung drivers. When i reconnected my samsung, then the LG again, things went cuckoo for cocoa puffs until I rebooted.
I can't post a new topic as I have less then ten posts but I have an issue with my connectivity as well. When unplugged the phone still shows the USB icon in the top left corner like it is plugged in. However when plugged in the phone will charge but when connected to a computer mass storage mode will not work or show up. I have tried it in windows xp/ osx on my MacBook. Windows 7 on my desktop and nothing. The drivers are good as it was working before. I have done a wipe/data, restored back to cubed 1.1 mod and it is still doing it. It doesn't bug me that bad as I use andftp to move my apostle back and forth from my NAS to sdcard. But I would like it fixed as trying to put music or ISO's for my psx emulator can take a minute over the wifi. Any help would be appreciated.

Why am i getting a Factory data cable connected and i cannot switch between usb modes?
So im my house we have 2 HTC evo's, a photon 4g and a bionic. All the phones connect to the hdmi cable just fine except the bionic. the port seems sketchy on what will now be the 3rd one.
It connects, the tv finds it, screen flashes, no signal.
Is this a known problem with the bionic? It seems like it is. The store we bring the devices back to say they get this all the time and all they can do is keep replacing the phones if they are under warranty.
Only used my HDMI port a few times...but no problems with it. The cable itself kind of sucks though.
I use my HDMI out all the time and have only had 1 or 2 qlitches. I rebooted and all was fine again when it wouldn't connect. I have noticed 2 different icons in the notification bar whenever I use HDMI. One has a plain looking monitor symbol and the other has a monitor symbol with "HDMI" in it. If I get the plain monitor symbol I can connect and disconnect to HDMI with no problems. If I get the monitor symbol with "HDMI" in it, I can connect once (maybe), but when I disconnect something gets stuck, the symbol won't go away and I have to reboot to get HDMI working again.
Hello folks, I am having issues with my new 2012 (Tegra 3) 32GB Nexus 7. It seems to be randomly disconnecting and reconnecting to my computer, which is running Windows 8.
I have no issues under Linux with data transfers, but it seems that as soon as the device is in sleep mode, either the device or Windows will disconnect itself from the PC. I have tried connecting it to a powered USB Hub, front USB ports and back USB ports, but it seems to have the same issue.
However, it seems to calm down as soon as the screen is on (I haven't noticed the random disconnects/reconnects that much when the screen is on). It is really annoying, as it'll go "Connect", "Disconnect", "Connect", "Disconnect" on Windows.
I am not sure if it's hardware problem, but I did get a 4.3 update recently that installed by itself (and it forced me too, I couldn't say "No, don't update"). I have heard that other Nexus devices have had similar issues. Has anyone else had this or do I have a defective unit or is it just my Windows at fault?
Thanks,
A Confused IcedCube.

I enabled "Never turn off screen while charging" and the randomness seems to have disappeared.
I'll be damned if I know why it does it. Maybe it's just Windows being Windows.
Thanks for the help, appreciate it.
