I have a NEXUS 6 non rooted stock phone
I updated the Shazam app this morning and then after the phone was acting weird. I went ahead and rebooted it.
Usually, it connects to all my bluetooth and network automatically, but I had to do it manually. Weird I thought.
When I go to the play store and check my apps for updates
It gives me an error that google app has stopped, but I look into detail of the crash report, it has a crash with com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox:search
When I try to access YT, it doesn't open.
I have gone ahead and wipe the cache partition,
disable and renabled google related apps.
To no avail...
Anyone experiencing the same issues?
I am trying to reinstall the Google (Search) app to see if that helps or not.
Not sure which version to install?
Google App 4.1.29.1706998.arm64
Google App 4.1.29.1706998.x86
Google App 4.1.29.1706998.arm

Assuming you are using wifi, try resetting your router. If that doesn't work, try updating one on data & see if that works. I had 4 apps this morning that wouldn't update until I switched to data.
Cowboy Up or Go Home!
People are assuming it is a widespread issue I had the same problem but the issue has been resolved and the playstore is fully functional now.

I've had some issues after installing Hyperdroid with 4.3 and the 4.3 gapps. Quick fix seemed to go through mobile data instead of wifi. That seemed to work. Next thing that worked for me was to add a second Google account, switch Google play to use it. Remove the second account and switch Google play back.

I had some app updates today so started them going but after a couple it crashed and since then I haven't been able to open the Play Store. Even after clearing the dalvik-cache and rebooting, I get popups saying it's crashed as soon as it finishes booting and if I try to open it, so I've got no way of getting into it.
Anyone know how to fix this rather major problem?
I thought this had fixed itself for a minute, as I was able to open Play Store and start updating apps but it crashed again after doing three and gives the same error when trying to open it again.
It keeps doing it. Once a day I try it and it lets me update a couple of apps before crashing and after that I keep getting popups telling my it's crashed at random times, like when starting Boom Beach.
Please help me fix it if you can as it's making my Moto G unusable and I haven't got a clue what to do myself, as the only thing I did before it started was let Play Store update my apps.
Go to settings apps all and uninstall google play store updates. Reboot phone and then try play store again.

That has stopped it constantly crashing thanks. Unfortunately, it's now not displaying anything under Installed, where it would normally shows the apps needing updates. All still shows everything as far as I can tell. Ah, I seem to have fixed it by triggering an app to update under All and now Installed shows stuff. And now it's crashed again!
After re-opening it, it was still downloading and managed to do a few more updates, albeit stalling a few times, before crashing again and now I can't re-open it at all.
EDIT: I tried deleting the cache for Google Play, which didn't help and then the Data, which has got it working again. Installed is blank again and after triggering an app to update from All only shows that app under Installed but as long as it populates when there's updates available that's fine. However, now it's crashing again so it seems that doing that wasn't the answer.
It turned out to be Obb 2 SD causing the problem. Play Store would update a couple of apps but when it tried to update a game which I'd moved with Obb 2 SD and would crash and couldn't be re-started. Once I disabled Obb 2 SD it fixed the problem. I just need to work out another way to move my large game files, might try Link2SD as that apparently handles moving Obb files now.
Woke up yesterday morning and I was unable to use any app google or gmail related. Every time I try to open the play store it instantly closes out. "Google" is no longer under the accounts tab in the settings. Can't log into any apps using google because they just crash when I try. Have tried EVERYTHING. Cleared cache and data and uninstalled updates for all google related apps hoping it would help. Nothing. ( yes I tried rebooting it). I have now factory restarted/wiped my phone 3 times and every time I get to the start up wizard I get "verizon location agent has failed" then I get "google play services has failed". Even without completing the startup wizard google and the play store still don't work. Called verizon. Then google. Then Motorola. They couldn't fix anything. Don't know what to do can't use a lot of my apps and I have no contacts just numbers.

Are you on a stock system? Or did you flash a system image with Mofo?

I'm on stock. Only thing I've done was remove some bloatware with rootjunky's program he put up. That was a while ago but I put it all unbloacked the bloatware and it worked for a couple minutes then stopped when I tried to update an app.

I would restore back to stock and see if the problem persists. If it is solved then at that point re-root with Mofo. If it does not fix itself bring the device to Verizon and they will factory reset it then realize thats not the problem. At which point they will replace the device for free.
Last night I got an update to the Google app.
Right after it installed, Google would not open. Assistant will not open and the Google feed but pressing the home button will not open.
I've cleared cache in the Google app and rebooted, no joy.
I cleared data on the Google app, Google Play Services app and Google Play Store app and rebooted, no joy.
I uninstalled updates from the Google app and rebooted, No joy.
I updated Google app, rebooted, No joy.
I've sent into phone recovery and cleared cache partition a couple times along the way.
No joy.
I realize that I'm on my way to the dreaded factory reset, but what caused this?
I'm hoping for another update to the Google app for a fix, before I resort to the dreaded FR.
I was able to download and use the Google Go "light" app.
Any ideas?

You can try using ADB and a PC to uninst5 the Google apk.
Download package Info , by police developers, to get the name of the package name for Google. Prob something like com.google.search or something
Then run this command
ADB shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.app.name.here
After it's uninstalled, try reinstalling from the app store and see where that takes you
pm uninstall is not reversible unless you do a factory reset. pm disable is.

I don't understand why I see so many people who say this. It's NOT true. Do you see that part of the code that says --user 0? That means that the app is only removed from the current user.
To go a step further, this would only even apply to apps not available from the play store. You could delete the Google app off your phone completely and still get it back from the play store, whitch is exactly what should happen if they run the line I provided.
So, tl;Dr using "pm uninstall --user 0" doesn't remove an app from the phone entirely, only from the current user of the device.
I always forget to try the SAFE Mode. Google app worked on SAFE MODE, but kept working when I came out of SAFE MODE.
Anyways, the Google app works but voice is grayed out.
ETA, it turns out that Google Assistant could not be turned on, because through all of my uninstalling SMS reinstalling of the Google app, Bixby became the default assistant app.
So exactly how did going into and coming out of SAFE MODE fix this?
I think I have it figured out.
It's a Swift Installer conflict.
If the Google app updates, before there is a Swift Installer overlay update for the Google app, the Google app asks Assistant will crash.
Once they're is a overlay update for the Google app in Swift Installer, entering works without doing any 'gymnastics'.
The Swift Installer developer has been pretty good about keeping up with Google app updates. I imagine that's a tough job!
Today, I had a Google app update that I had been putting off for several days, waiting for Swift Installer update for the Google app overlay. There was no update available inside the Swift Installer app.
I updated the Google app in the Play Store.
The Google app crashed.
I opened the Swift Installer app and the overlay update for the Google app was then available.
Without the required reboot, after a Swift Installer change, the Google app and the Google Assistant worked.
Totally awesome!
I installed Google Maps Beta app before. Then today, I wanted the original app back so I opened the play store. I searched forGoogle Maps, tapped on "uninstall" and then it uninstalled after some time. When I tried to install it from play store, it then showed an error message saying: "You cannot install this app because another user has already installed an incompatible version on this device." But I've already uninstalled the first app, cleared app preferences and deleted all folders relating to Google Maps. Maybe the app didn't uninstall completely? Please help me, I don't wanna have to reset my phone to have to use Google Maps again.
