[Q] Help RUU - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good afternoon,
I'm trying to get back to stock because I can't flash the cm12 rom nightlies
I'm trying to find the right RUU but I'm without version-main, so I'm a little doubt ish.
I've S-ON and I can't get it OFF with rumrunner's.
What should I do? install the original RUU.exe?

Kindly, remove your SERIAL NO AND IMEI from above post. Always do that when posting fastboot getvar all.
because somebody can lock your phone using this information.
Regarding your query,
AFAIK, you need revone to get S-OFF on HBOOT 1.44, Rumrunner for 1.54, Moonshine for 1.55 and 1.56, and Sunshine for 1.57.
This thread will help you achieve S_OFF using revone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
or you can use this guide
http://www.htc1guru.com/guides/get-s-off/
Press thanks if it helped.
---------- Post added at 08:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:45 PM ----------
After you achieve S-OFF, simply use RUU matching your phone to get back to stock.

flash this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48955645&postcount=251
then use revone

many tkz....
worked like a charm. beautifull

if it isn't too much of a trouble, what's the RUU that I should use? main-version still missing.
the cm12 is still giving me a trouble. If I learned something from the web, I have partition table problems.
I should relock the oem and then flash the RUU, correct? after that root again?

if you're s-off, you no longer need to relock in order for ruu flashing: Not so FAQ #2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52135024&postcount=2
best to change your CID, for example:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then you can flash any ruu you like
PS: version-main missing is due to a bug in 2.7 TWRP series, but hboot 1.44 would imply you're still on 1.xx firmware (very old)
PPS: cid is exactly 8 characters, no more, no less; SuperCID = 11111111 other international unbranded CIDs are:
Code:
HTC__001 --> HTC-WWE
HTC__016 --> VODA-Africa-South
HTC__032 --> HTC-EastEurope
HTC__102 --> HTC-GER
HTC__203 --> HTC-FRA
HTC__304 --> HTC-SPA
HTC__405 --> HTC-ITA
HTC__A07 --> HTC-Russia
HTC__E11 --> HTC-Dutch
HTC__J15 --> HTC-GCC
HTC__Y13 --> HTC-Norway

any idea why when I write cid 11111111 the command window and bootloader freezes?

hootik said:

cause you did some previous command? (like a getvar all)
unplug & replug the phone, then
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
fastboot reboot-bootloader

You're the man...done
If you weren't so far away I would buy you a beer

Woah, you don't need to ''scream'' that loud lol.
First describe your situation: what is the current status of your device, what is your goal.
and post the output of this command without IMEI/SN

Actually the problem is that you on 1.56 FW and you cannot downgrade it to stock.
you have to downgrade the hboot to 1.44 - BUT you have to be S-Off'ed
use this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082

First edit by post and remove S/N and IMEI.. You cant't use this RUU ( your phone has branded - CID ORANGE001 and S-ON ). Use the method adb sideload or adb push http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2318497

You must have bootloader unlocked ( not relocked/locked ). When it comes about RUU isn't such for your CID...( remains the only nandroid backup or guru reset)

[Q] Can someone help me get out of this mess?

Hi guys,
Was doing an update to my HTC one and we had a power cut - Needless to say, I am in a pickle now.
I am just gonna go back to stock (CBA with the hassle) - That's if it's possible now of course.
What happens?
When I turn the phone on now, I just get the option for Fastboot-USB , Recovery etc - phone will not boot.
This is what my getvar returns.

Hi guys,
Was doing an update to my HTC one and we had a power cut - Needless to say, I am in a pickle now.
I am just gonna go back to stock (CBA with the hassle) - That's if it's possible now of course.
What happens?
When I turn the phone on now, I just get the option for Fastboot-USB , Recovery etc - phone will not boot.
This is what my getvar returns.

Remove IMEI and s/n from your post!!
Are you locked or unlocked? And what exactly do you mean you were updating?
Anyway, to give you some insight to your options: Since you're S-On, you can only flash an ruu for your version (1.29.401.12) or higher, there's this one:
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...0-01_release_318486_signed_2_4_decrypted-zip/
this is an ruu.zip, so you flash this in ruu mode, in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip <- yes TWICE
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Please state exactly what is your problem and how you got in the predictament. Also, post a fastboot getvar all and remove the imei and serial number of your device. Your phone is probably different than the previous persons phone.

As for yours, your version-main is all messed up, probably caused by the riffbox, but there was no need to do that, the 155 error you got was just a bad download, try and download this ruu and run it, otherwise, get the firmware for it and flash that first, im basing this info on the radio (baseband) which matches this ruu.
you will need to change the CID to HTC__001 or add superCID to the android-info.txt file before running

What firmware are you on? It has to be older or same as the RUU you're going to flash.
Also select the RUU depending on your CID.

you can only flash an RUU which is for both your CID and MID
So you are right in saying it has to be for CID HTC__001. You can (I think) only flash a 2.xx.xxx.x RUU and not the most recent one, as it'll give you an error message I think
Check here http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...0-01_release_318486_signed_2_4_decrypted-zip/

He's s-on he can't use the decrypted RUU.zip ? ( I could be wrong I been s-off forever)
I think you need a ROM.zip pulled from a RUU.exe or just use the actual RUU.exe
most likely you'll have to use this one >> http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...10.38r.1157.04L_release_353069_signed_2-1.exe

Guys I have tried all the suggested files but none seem to work. ;/
I had to re lock the bootloader and sometimes when I put the phone into fastboot the red text is sometimes cut in half for some reason.
Also my image version is 1.29,401.16.
(just some extra info to help?)
Thanks

[Q] Do i have two different mid numbers?

Hi guys,
Bought a refurbished HTC one on Aliexpress and have a few queries.
It was advertised as being a european model (64gb, LTE) and it runs European software [ro.build.fingerprint]: htc/htc_europe/m7:4.4.3........] however I am confused with the mid.
The back of my phone states Model: PN07100
I couldnt get OTA updates originally and found I had superCID of 11111111. I then changed this several times and found that HTC__001 allowed me to get OTA.
The OTA will download but won't install as it detects my device is modified even though I haven't modified anything but the CID number. Perhaps the previous owner modified it in some way..
(bootloader) version: 0.5

Using the CID getter apk, i have two values which I am not sure about:
[ro.aa.modelid]: [PN0710000]
[RO.MID]: [PN0712000]
One last piece of information is that after doing a warranty check, it states device was sold to [email protected] and it's modelid is [PN0712000]
Very confusing...
I want to get software updates as sound during calls is not working after many attempts to fix this.
I like to upgrade to stock lollipop... Can I do this easily by using an RUU?

You will need to change your MID to the International MID: PN0710000.
The OTA looks for both the MID and CID before it will execute.
You can use this tool to change your MID.
Once you get your MID changed you can go to this site and find the RUU that matches your CID and MID.
Or attempt to download the OTA again.
Okay thank you for your help

If the error you are getting is "Variant System Version" then its definitively because of the wrong MID. X.XX.401.X version is MID PN0710000 and CID HTC__001.
Your Hboot version doesn't match your firmware version. When on 6.09.401.5 your hboot should be 1.57 not 1.44. Not sure if the OTA update will like that. Would recommend to change your MID with the tool posted above, then flash the 7.19.401.2 Firmware and finally the 7.19.401.2 RUU
Alray your method did the trick - Had issues trying to flash the RUU file but then as soon as i updated the firmware, it accepted the RUU.
Really appreciate the help guys

Yep, flashing the firmware before the RUU wasn't optional. To be able to flash a 7.xx ruu you need 4 things:
Firmware must be at least 6.xx --> ok
CID must match --> ok HTC__001
MID must match --> fixed to PN0710000
HBoot must be at least 1.57 --> That's why you need to flash the firmware first, to update your hboot to 1.57, you were on 1.44...
