First of all hi to everybody.
Been on this forum for months now reading about this great phone samsung galaxy note.
But now i have a issue that i would like to discuss with you because some of you already have or will have this problem with the phone.
So the problem is after 2 months that i had my Note i noticed a slight crack around the display of the phone and today i noticed another one.
I called a official samsung service in my country and asked them how much will it cost to exchange that piece of plastic. And he told me that i have to exchange the whole display and housing! Which is around 200€!
So attached some pictures below.
My question is did somebody tried to change the housing on the Note and is it true that i have to exchange the display also?
Because i found a new housing for the note for only 30$ on ebay and was wondering is it hard to replace it on my own.
My phone did not drop or fell from anywhere since i had it. Only thing is that i wear it in a jacket pocket everyday because it is my business phone.
Appreciate your time.
Watch video's in YouTube om how to relaxen that (Samsung galaxy note dissasembly if I'm right)

Hehe. Yeah watched the video how to dissasemble it. But it is the reassembly that i'm worried about.

I am one with exactly same problem, yesterday only I have noticed similar crack at corner of housing, I guess sammy used really cheap plastic got this crack within 2 months from purchase.
update:

this should solve the issue..
Yeah it should but then again....it sucks. So pricey phone and then they use so cheap plastic. Firstly i was dissapointed with the battery cover. I loled when i first removed it.
And now this thin frame cracking.
If u decide to change the housing maybe u can make a tutorial for others to see. Including me.
I would not think twice if i was sure i can take it apart and then put it together back again.

I got a new, beautiful and smooth SIII Mini yesterday. My idea was to get a Nexus 4, but life, lemons, lemonade. Just when I was beggining to like it, beggining to make it mine, it slipped from my hands and landed on the hard and unforgiving floor of my kitchen. The horror.
The screen has now a thin crack crossing it horizontally and the display images are garbled. So I guess that's time to change the display.
Looking at Ebay I saw that replacement displays are crazy-expensive, around 300€, more than the price of a new phone. Usually screen replacements don't cost more than 50€. What's happening here?
I sent today Samsung an email asking how much for the repairs. As soon as I got the answer I'll post here, maybe there are other users with the same problem as me.
Is there anyone in a similar situation? How much was it?
You have some bad luck But i guess all new phones have expensive parts. Its just 2-3 months old.

Sorry to hear that
Blue 99.50 €
White 99.50€
Update
Went to the official Samsung shop to ask.
Guy told me a strange thing: depending of the color of the plastic surrounding the screen, price varied from 80€ to 120€. If a blue replacement was needed, 80€, white, 120€. Mine is white. And he also told me it was "forbidden by Samsung" to have a white phone with a blue screen, it voided the warranty. Strange.
I'have the same problem! I was searching for a replacement for the glass, but I could only find the glass WITH touch ,lcd ecc. ,which was very expensive! Anyone knows if it's possible to find only the front glass?
Hi! I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-910T, which was purchased earlier this years in the US by a friend for me. I have been using the phone for a while. I accidentally dropped the phone on the road and even though there was a protective cover, the rear camera shattered.
I went to the Samsung Service Centre in India and they refused to accept the phone stating that they would have to register the IMEI and serial number first and then have the part shipped from the US which would take 45~60 days
An Indian Note 4's camera is repaired/replaced within 2 to 4 days. Could anyone help confirm whether the part would be the same. I am happy to pay the charges for the repairs in India.
Thanks.

I believe if you search you will find a guy that had to go to Samsung for the glass. The camera and glass are separate from what Samsung had told the guy.

I would call Samsung and get the part number.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
If the glass replacement is anything like the note 3, it is super simple. I just replaced the glass on the Note 3 a couple weeks ago. On the note 3 you remove the back cover, remove all the screws, and pry up the backing. Once off the camera lens has 4 tabs that your bend upright to remove the lens. Put the new one in, fold over the tabs and replace everything in reverse order. Took me ten minutes to do it and had a brand new glass replacement.
Dear all,
Thank you for all your support and guidance. I have pried of the broken glass bits of the shattered lens cover. The camera appears to be functional and it appears that only the lens may need to be replaced. I have ordered the lens from Ebay. I have also requested Samsung to follow up on the request.
Hi guys.
I have an issue with my new Note 5, which I bought 4 days ago. However, I had this problem with my old Nexus 5 as well. I want know what the issue is so that I can avoid it in the future.
Basically, after a few days/weeks my touchscreen will have a white hue/smudge in the center when the screen is off. I can see it clearly in the sun, it stands like a white stain in the middle and it's been only 4 days. I remember I avoided this with my Nexus 5 by applying a protective screen but after I took it off, in matter of weeks the smudge appeared.
I could put a protective screen on the Note 5 but I read that it interferes with the S pen. If it doesn't interfere, I'll go right away and apply one. However, I want to know what causes this. I haven't dropped in water and I mostly keep it in my pockets and at home on the table.
Thank you guys.
I have a Zag glass screen protector on mine and the S pen works fine
I was skeptical of glass screen protectors until one was placed on my new Note 5 at Sprint. Sold on it now.

I don't really know what you're talking about. I've never, particullary, heard something like this. In this cases, you really should attach a photo so we can figure out what's your problem. A "white stain" could be anything: from dust to your hands sweat or even actual damage in the screen itself. I've subscribed the thread to investigate further about this, please consider to send me a photo of it. Cheers!
PD: No, every screen protector work perfectly with the S-Pen no matter of how thick they're (the S-Pen could work even at 1 cm of the screen itself).
Hello everyone,
First of all , I apologize for my English, I 'm French . I , used google translation to post this message.
I have a big problem with my Note 5 (SM- N920C purchased from T dimension in October ) . Aesthetic concern ; let me explain :
In the upper left corner , it makes me like an air bubble between the screen and the casing of the Note 5. As if I had a screen protector peeling , except that it is under the screen.
I discovered this default for the first time last Saturday. At first, it was so small , but it grows by the day !!!!
I specify , my Note 5 since the beginning is protected by a tempered glass. It is never dropped or has never suffered shocks.
Am I alone in this ?
I think it'll be back to the sender for security; Be 'm trying to do with Samsung France , otherwise it's back at T- Dimension for service ..
I am disgusted...!!!!

That is the separation of the film of paint and also a shatter resistant coating underneath the phone. It's basically a small piece of adhesive attached to a screen protector like plastic material that separates from the phone. That's how I have my note 5 with the clear back

Ok. My phone is under warranty , I think I'll send it back .
How you doing to repair the back cover ?

Definitely send it back, and I did this a long time ago to the s6 a few weeks after it came out and then to my note 5, people do it differently then I do, I personally like how I do it. Because it's faster and better on the glass. Most people use a razor blade but isopropyl/ nail polish remover does the best, keeping the glass from scratching and you can peel it all off and one sticker, make sure to let it soak in the nail polish remover for 10 minutes, one of the edges will inevitably peel up. I'll be 100% honest, I've never been one to brag. But anytime I see anyone with an 05 I have to show them my phone, when I do almost every single time is "holy crap that's cool" when I saw the article on my google now page saying that this guy had a cooler note 5 then i did. I couldn't help but to laugh because my note 5 was already clear lol honestly though it brings back a very retro feel. I'm trying to buy as many note 5 back covers as I can. So I can convert them and sell them clear. For just a little bit more than I bought them for so I can break even. honestly I'd rather everyone have the clear back then the platinum gold or the sapphire blue. The Pearl was pretty nice and so is the silver. sorry for deviating topics. But what I must say is the problem I'm having is much smaller but it's definitely what's happening with you as well I don't think Samsung will have any issues letting you return it. Obviously I voided the warranty on mine lol so they wouldn't do anything in my case. So it looks like it's $124 to replace the screen

Just ask for an exchange.
I sent a message to T- Dimension Hong Kong to explain my problem. Their technical department told me that for them, this defect is due to exposure with water, therefore invalidate the warranty .
Obviously , my rating has never been in contact with water , it's great no matter what !!!!
Just send an email to T- Dimension with a link to a video or Note 5 is immersed for a while . We see very clearly that once out of the water , the rating has not suffered the same fault as mine. I do not know if will be enough to make them change their mind ...

i have same issue and yeah! never been contact with water .:/ dont know what to do
T dimension has nothing to do with my problem. The fault was not enlarged. For now , I leave like that. However, one thing is sure : I never will buy anything from T Dimension . I'll wait patiently Note 6.
Where did you bought your Note 5 ? Is it a N920 C ?
I have the same dam issue. I was gonna contact Verizon, but know they will say it's water related. Never been near water... Argghh

My Birthday is Aug 21 the same day the note 5 was release i was ecstatic to get my new phone i had issues with the first one an sent it back getting a new refurbished one <--- I know funny right we pay all this money to buy a new never used product to have issues with it and have to send it back for a sec. hand item.. well to the point i had a screen protector on my devise and removed it thinking there was a fold in the corner to find out the was a strange bubble under the glass and for a sec i thought i cracked my phone at first wasn't a big deal but now its def. bigger and noticeable.. only solution is WARRANTY!!! to get another depreciated value refurbished Note 5.
Ask samsung exec to prove that phone is in contact with water, if they can't replace the phone.

Well just FYI because I didn't want to get charged for water damage either. And I thought to myself but how can you check the Samsung Note 5 for water damage. So to my curiosity looked it up so if you use a pen and pop open the SIM card slot and remove it get a flashlight and look inside to see there should be a little white square meaning no water damage. If red then you may have dropped it in water at some point and don't remember hope that helps ease your mind when contacting your provider.
I am in Brazil and I have the same problem, common in the first pictures ... still did not take the technical assistance ... we'll see the excuse that will give ...
Same issue in a Verizon Note 5, upper left corner. I need to get this in before my warranty expires.

Just got the same on mine. Top of glass to under the earpiece and from the notification light to past the camera. Friend of mine just mentioned that it looks like he has water damage on his but he didn't spill anything, told him it's probably the same issue. Calling Verizon for warranty and he's going to TMobile, we'll see.
OMG... it's global problem. I have the same bubble... same place... left corner... And I'm sure, It's not a water damage. My phone is under warranty, but I'm afraid, they'll say me It can be changed... we'll see.
I have the same problem. About five days ago a bubble appeared, and it has quickly been spreading across the top of the phone. No drop damage, no water damage, even pulled the sim to double check and the litmus is still white.
I called T-Mobile and they tried to tell me it constituted as physical damage that voided my warranty... So I called Samsung, who told me a screen repair was covered by warranty. My city has a walk in repair shop, so I will be going in tomorrow to get the screen fixed.
I got the bubble too. 9 months old. Upper left corner. Sprint model.
