2 things are missing in ICS dialer:
1. Speed dial
2. Adding comma or semicolon to have conference bridge number like 1-800-555-1234;543674#
Anyone?

You know you can create a Direct Dial shortcut to a number ?
TWLauncher:
1)Menu->Settings->Widgets-> Hold "Direct dial"
2)Choose a contact in your list
3)Direct dial shortcut is created on your homescreen
LauncherPro
1) Hold on a empty spot->Shortcut
2) Scroll to Direct Dial
3) Select contact from the list.
You can create a folder on your home screen to hold all your direct dial shortcuts.
(hitting his head on keyboard in frustration): We don't want those gimmicks like direct dial.
Conf bridge works if you paste the number like 800-000-0000;234#. But there is no ";" on dialer.

was having issues with stock dialer hanging etc. i saw on the slim thread a suggestion to use dialer one (which my phone said was not compatible) but i saw in the market search there was exDialer with ics themes that deal with the speed dialer issue and been running real smooth. no clue about the conference bridge
running nostalgia ics
I'll check it. thanks!
this is a documented fail in ANDROID -

anyone know how to get GOOGLE to fix this? I mean damn. You get a calendar invitation from someone with:
18005551212,,123456# and it works on CrapplesIphones
replace the comma with X and it works on all BB (the comma works on BB too, newer OS ones...)
And yet, all these powerful dual core android phones and we can't even recognize a phone number in the calendar. It's a GOOGLE CALENDAR type issue, I think... but DAMN.
Just saying.
For those who don't use or know the work around. You can also create contacts with those bridge number but not on your phone. Create the contact on your phone and go edit the phone number in Gmail contact. You'll be able to add the , or ; and other options that are still supported by the dialer but are just not available to you.
Note: The bridge call will only work if you call from the phone Contact list AND NOT the dialer log.
Hi there,
Is anyone could help me changing sms center number for Xperia Z? I used *#*#4636#*#* code and able to change it. However, when the phone restarted, the sms center number also reset. Is there away that i can change the sms center number permanently?
Cheers
You can edit it in settings of stock Sony SMS app. On the bottom I have the option.

Is there any way to make the htc dialer automatically add the country code (1-xxx) as a prefix to any number I'd like to dial?
Normally I could have 1-123-456-7890 saved as A, however if I dial 456-7890, it won't show that I dialed person A. So it is possible to make the dialer automatically have 1-123 already input whenever I open it?
Hi,
I'm looking for an android keyboard that is compact and would allow me to send texts and also have shortcuts for my favorite apps. Not sure if those are possible but I currently have a bluetooth keyboard, and while it does work when typing, I cannot figure out how to hit "Enter" on the stock text app to send it.
did you try shift enter?
I just found a bug in the dialer app. When dialing out to a IVR system, after connected I'll bring out the keypad to key in something. But the numbers I key in are not displayed on the screen. For example, if I need to input my credit card number, it'll be very frustrating because I may get confused of which number I just press.
I'm using the latest .199 firmware. Anyone else notice this issue?
