[HELP] dialer malfunction - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I didn't make any significant modifications in the time frame this happened so i am at a loss for HOW it happened BUT, my phone is not recieving calls properly. whenever i get a phone call my home back and app buttons disappear and the accept or decline call screen doesn't show up. additionally i can't pull down the quick setting menu. once the caller hangs up i can call them back with the usual call back button as the normal missed call screen appears. i can also make calls normally.
I tried clearing cache, hard and soft reboot, restoring to an older known working date with titanium backup, re-downloading avg antivirus and scanning.
the only thing i have done to my z3c in the past couple days is download play legacy to try and update some apps i got from amazon for free from the play store automatically (tuneinradio pro and friday night at freddy's) i really don't like the amazon market place ... after this happened i uninstalled play legacy and it still didn't help. has anyone gone through something similar or can maybe help me as i really don't want to start fresh i have my system exactly as i want it and would like to avoid restarting from scratch.
thank you

bump

Restore your nandroid backup or reflash the rom.

[Q] Sprint Marquee reset during call, errlog attached

My sprint Marquee started to develop an annoying problem: reset during call. I cannot post link yet, but there are several other Marquee users reported same problem in androidcentral forum.
It's not a complete reset, but the screen will turn blank and not responsive, only the four button will flash the led. After 1 minute it will come back.
I knew I can try to restore to factory default, but after a little search, I saw many android phone user met this problem, and many of them were using factory default settings. So I decided to uninstall apps and install an error log app for next reset.
Yesterday there was another reset, and I saved the error log immediately after the reset. But I'm not sure if the error caused the reset can be recorded.
Hear are the error log, anybody can have a look at it and get some ideas about the problem?
For the apps I installed in my Sprint marquee:
It was rooted. No task killer. Used to freeze sprint bloatware with Ti backup but I uninstalled Ti backup earlier.
Was using Go launcher, then zeam launcher.
Was using dialer one, then back to stock dialer. the call log was limited to 7 days. -- I was guessing it could be the call log too long.
For the error log files:
alogcat.2012-01-26-18-06-31-error.txt
this one was generated right after the reset, but I didn't know how to turn on time display at that time.
The reset occurred on about 18:06.
alogcat.2012-01-27-00-00-52-warning.txt
this one was generated later at night with time displayed. It's a log on warning level.
alogcat.2012-01-27-00-03-07-info.txt
this one was generated later at night with time displayed. It's a log on info level.

Volume issue

Anyone else have an issue with the volume muting itself sometimes and not allowing it to increase? Happened when I used "volume ace", but I deleted that a while ago and it's still doing it. Have to restart the phone and then it corrects it. Also, sometimes after setting my profile to silent and then back to normal, my ringtone volume is super loud and I have to readjust it.
Also, my Google sync always says it's experiencing problems and will be back later, is that normal?
Use an explorer to see if there are any remains of the app. I have never had this problem.
You needed to reset sound settings before deleting the app. Try reinstalling the app to try and reset it. If not, factory reset.
I reinstalled volume ace and changed a couple settings and uninstalled. Not sure if that'll make a difference, since it happens so randomly, but I guess I'll see.

[Q] SMS is near-unusable after 4.4.3 update!

I installed that update that upgraded the phone to 4.4.3 and enabled Wi-Fi calling about a week ago. And since then, the SMS app has been incredibly laggy to the point where it is near unusable. I am not exaggerating, it takes literally about 20 seconds from me tapping a letter, for the phone to vibrate that it recognized I touched the screen and display the letter on the screen.
I know that internally the SMS is working fine since I can get replies back on my Pebble before the message I sent that they are replying too even appears on my screen.
Also, this only happens to specific contacts, but always the same ones.
Everything was working perfectly before this update, but directly after installing it this happened. Any ideas?

Backup & do a hard reset will take care of it. I always recommend doing a hard reset after any kinda of big update anyway. I would also do a profile update once the hard reset is complete. There was some issues with connectivity for this update that a profile update should take care of, although it's not going to solve your sms problem.

Wouldn't restoring the backup bring the problems back though?

It's possible, doesn't really hurt to try. I usually try and restore as little data as possible and do everything by hand. One thing you can do if you wanna keep your sms, is export it, then import sms only back in after the rest. I have had good luck with it. Certain apps I use titanium backup to restore, but a lot of stuff I do by hand. I have tried HTC's backup on a friends phone, it actually worked better than I thought. Sometimes it's nice to not do a backup (other than like sms & photos) It will clear out the old apps you don't wanna use.

[Q] issues after making a phone call

I'm hoping someone has experienced the same situation as I.
For some reason after making a phone call I get stuck on the screen that says the redial or message for like 30 seconds to a minute before I can make another call or back to home screen.
This Issue has happened On Rapture and Hyperdrive Tom. So that's telling me most likely an App is the cause of this issue. The weird thing is I haven't installed nor updates any apps for a couple days.(Auto update turned off in google Play. Everything was normal then out of no where this issue started.
Any help/ ideas/ fix will be appreciated and thanked
Any xposed mods that might cause this installed???
Also was this a clean install??
Which includes wiping the internal?
Flash.
Part of the Solution

Need help with several problem.

Good morning everyone. I have been a long time lurker. Thanks to the incredibly talented people on this forum, I was able to root my phone about 8 months ago. Now I hope that someone here can help me. About a month ago I experienced a screen glitch. I picked up my phone one day and it suddenly had a black bar across the screen along with scrambled pixels. I tried to reboot, got stuck in loop. So I booted into twrp and did a full restore. Everything was working fine for a fee days, then I started to notice things were wrong. I can no longer get Bluetooth or my mobile hotspot to turn on. I click the button in settings and the widgets on my homescreen. They will slide to on back be greyed out. They never turn on, in fact if unleavened one of the settings, the slider is off again when I return to it. App in my apk drawer all say app not installed when I try to uninstall them. Uninstalling them with lucky patcher, google play (for official apps) and the built in "Make more storage" in settings, is the only way to uninstall apps. The apps setting crashes when I try to uninstall through that. The only way to install 3rd party apk files is through lucky patcher. I have cleared cache files and data in apps that had it. Bluetooth widget app along with some other apps always show 0.00 data. When I try to open my data usage setting it informs me that there is no activity found for this action. Hardware test show that Bluetooth is fine, I am suspecting serious software failure. I have even tried a factory reset a few times to no avail. Thank you again for all of your hard work and I hope some of you will be able to guide me through at least some of my problem. Btw, I have not installed any custom roms. I had xposed a few weeks before my problems started. After realizing how much space it used up along with the tweaks, I decided to remove it. I am in no way saying that xposed is to blame, just stating that I had it installed at one point. One more thing, I have searched the forum and google, for solutions to individual issues. Tried all the things I read to do. I'm still on lollipop also. HTC sync doesn't recognize my phone as being connected either
