[Q] Play Store says cehck your connection and try again - Moto X Q&A

I've recently re-flashed to cm12 nightly 4/2. The play store always says "Check your connection and try again". I've tried all the things I can find on the forums. Anyone know how to fix this?
Factory reset, flash cm11, boot up, flash cm12, flash gapps
Factory reset, flash cm11, flash gapps, boot up, flash cm12, flash gapps
run all clear cache etc
force stop play services / store, delete all user data
create new google account
drink
What's really weird is things like gmail, etc, are syncing. When I search for something in the play store I'm getting search matches while typing, but nothing comes up if I hit search.

Have you tried a different gapps? And do you have the gapps for proper Android version?
Also, you can try deleting data on play store, play services and Google services framework. Then reboot. Try again.
But a different gapps package can sometimes do the trick. And again, must be the gapps made for the Android version you're flashing.
Is your custom recovery up to date?

Apparently i needed the google services framework cleared.
Thanks a lot!!!

Hi,
I am really frustrated, after a factory reset of SlimBean 2.8, which rebooted to often, I have the described problem on my Nexus S.
I tried the above ... one of the steps of the first method described the change of DPI, I guess that is the first value you can change in the "developer options" > "LCD density" to a higher DPI ... reboot and other steps ... didn't work. The second method with clearing cache and dalvik then reinstalling OS and Gapps rebooting, then clearing data of play store and service ... reboot ... still same problem.
Then I installed the latest playstore from an APK file ... after that it tells me my device is not supported (tough it used to run on the device).
If I can't fix this, I'll switch to Cyanogen or stock possibly ROM, though I really like the SlimBean features.
Any further clues before I do this?
Thanks & regards
Joe

[Q] Play Store Crashing

So I rooted my friends X8, and flashed a custom rom two weeks ago. The only problem was the Play Store crashing (he also has stock kernel because as far as I'm aware newer X8's can brick if you try to flash a kernel), I've only installed ROM's with stock kernel support. I've deleted Dalvik Cache and Cache. I've flashed that same ROM twice again, it would work for a couple of minutes, then start bugging out again. I've tried a different ROM, every time flashing following the standard procedure, full wipe before install. I've tried downloading the newest gapps and flashing them (while wiping cache). I've also tried downloading the market .apk, the new one, some of the older ones, nothing. I've tried wiping Play Store cache and data, I've tried wiping cache and data of other Play Store "sub-applications", like some market helpers etc. Some of these worked, but only for a couple of minutes. The last time what I did was I changed the theme in the theme chooser, which worked for an entire day. But it happened again. I tried installing a different home launcher, no dice. Has anyone encountered such a problem/found a fix/workaround/solution?
What happens is, you browse the playstore normally, but if you try to download an app, it stops mid download, says "android.process.media has stopped" or "android.process.*playstore or something like that, cannot recall it correctly* has stopped"
Android version is 4.0.4.
Please, does someone know what to do? Every other thread I've seen, I've tried everything they recommend, didn't help...
Android 4.0 is not so much stable for stock kernel..
So it would be better it you flash gingerbread on it...

[Q] Galaxy Ace kitkat

Hi all.
So I have flashed my Ace with the following:
cm-11.0.0-RC4-GT-S5830-cooper-PS.zip
The rom works perfectly but I cant seem to get gapps working.
I have tried the version recommended in the thread (mini-gapps-cm11-20140317-signed.zip) were I got the rom from but it just says
"Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped." every time I try to open the play store.
If I try to flash any other version of Gapps they also repeatedly show "Unfortunately, Google services have stopped." or they don't flash because of the size or the rom.
I did manage to flash the following gapps but there was only gmail and no play store.
gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip
I would love to get gapps running on this rom as it seems to be very stable on the phone so any thoughts of suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
Or does anyone have any suggestions for other roms?
Thanks

no such a problem here , but recommende you to follow those steps:
1. go to recovery and format system and data , and do wipe data and wipe cache
2.flash the cm11 kitkat rom
3.reboot to system
4.after it got boot go back to recovery
5.flash thr mini gapps by mardon
6.reboot and you will have play store and play services and you can add your google account without any problem
what im trying to say is : dont flash mini gapps directly after flashing the rom , so give those steps a try and tell me if it works or not
hope that i helped

Same problem here.
I did exactly what you said, but it didn't work. I still get the messages "Unfortunately, Android Keyboard (AOSP) has stopped." and others like this.
I'll try to flash another ROM, maybe this one here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2587481
If you got a solution, just tell us
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that version comes already with the gapps. Maybe I'm wrong

[Q] Deleted Google play services (via Rootking), Bricked phone?

I'd appreciate if you could help a fella here.
So I did something stupid today, first off wiped data/cache and restored phone to factory settings. That's all good.
Then I opened Rootking and thought, hey let's see what I could delete to ez the battery life, seen someone here having bare essentials. So deleted all google play, google + etc. stuff.
Then phone started displaying ton of google related errors, some apps weren't working etc.
So I thought, hmm wipe data/cache again... FML didn't work. Phone turns on, works "normally". ROM Manager doesn't work. ROM Installer Works.
Downloading as I type "ROM 5 - P7 L10 Unicom B126" stock rom from needrom.com/download/ascend-p7/
ROM Installer has the "Install ROM File" and options "
-backup current ROM
- Wipe Data & Cache
- Wipe dalvik-cache
What can I do?

You can either flash the original firmware again with the three button method or from the phone's updater or you could install the Google Play Services apk from here.
Flashed stock rom via Local Update Future... got it all back. DL'd service did nothing.
Thx for help again.

Can't download apps from the Play Store

I reflashed the stock firmware on my Note 5 a few days ago, I completely wiped the phone before doing that, I installed GApps and now I can't download apps from the Play Store (the progress bar keeps saying 'downloading').
I tried everything, reinstalling the Play Store/Play services, removing and readding my account, giving the Play Store permissions, cleared the data for the download manager but nothing. Does anyone know what to do?
You shouldn't flash gapps on stock based Samsung firmwares. Wipe the device, flash stock, boot and see.
