I have been searching for awhile now, and just can't seem to find out what I need. I have a rooted N1 that I was running Kang-O-Roma's Latest Froyo build and Radio on it, but now need to get it back to stock with OTA updates. I flashed a the stock image that I got from the developers section, but still no updates. when the phone downloads an update it just restarts in recovery. I thought I may need to downgrade the radio, but no luck. I baught an Evo and am selling my beloved N1, but the person who baught it wants it completely stock, and able to get updates. he doesn't mind it being rooted if this is possible. Please help.

reboot the phone into bootloader then use the passimg file to return back to stock once this is done it should reboot into 2.1 then leave it alone till u see the update available or use the code to force the update then reboot and it should pop up within a few hours...
The update pops up, It downloads it, it even says what the update includes, but then when it tries to install, it restarts back into recovery mode, and doesnt' install the update. Is the update on the phone somewhere? I still have the froyo radio on the phone, because I cannot find and original Radio update Zip. Adb won't work on my new computer.
Did you get the stock recovery back in there or still using a custom one?
I loaded the stock image found in the developers section under original shipping, but it didn't downgrade the radio. I followed all of the instructions, but still, the update won't install. I have been searching and searching, but still can't come up with a solution.

no problem hope this works!
Ok, this should be my last question on this subject. under about phone it now says:
Model Number-
Nexus One
Firmware version-
2.1 update 1
Baseband version-
32.26.00.24U_4.04.00.03_2
Kernel version-
2.6.29-01117-g4bc62c2
[email protected] #1
Build number-
EPE76
As I recall EPE76 was a leaked ROM
I tried using 22607-ERD79-update-nexusone-stock-signed.zip and renaming it passimg.zip , but that didn't work. am I OK with the EPE76 build or do I need to get the ERD79 build on there to be?
A: get updates, and
B: truly be stock.
thanks again. I had no problem when I was trying cooked roms and updating radios and stuff. go figure this would be the thing to get me stuck.

@OP
If you're still have problems, this thread has all the files you need in the first post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850
I bought my Nexus One off another member here, and he was kind enough to flash back to the original ERD79 before he sent me the phone but he didn't flash the stock recovery.img. I got the update to Froyo almost immediately after I turned the phone on, but it would not install. After flashing the stock recovery.img the OTA installed just fine

I tried installing this one, and it said "The main version is older" and then asked if I want to restart.

go root to 2.2 or 2.1.update 1 first then use it okay..
Now that you mention it I do remember seeing something about that, while I was searching for an answer to this dilemma. Thanks again, I'll let you know.

Alright, so I updated my phone when the first OTA update was released, and it installed successfully no problems. After this I got into rooting my phone so that I could get rid of the AT&T crapware, use launcher pro, and enable sideloading for apps. I thought that I would check for another update since rumors were swirling about 2.2, and to my surprise it detected a package to download. I was able to download it, however it wouldn't finish installing on the phone and said that it could not be installed. Thinking that this was due to my root, I used Odin to flash back to stock and retry the install, and it still didn't work. So, after that I reverted back to the root, and decided to go and check the firmware and baseband version What is confusing to me is that for "firmware version" it says that I have "2.1-update1", but my baseband version still says "1897UCJF6" instead of "JH7". Now when I try to install whatever supposed update that is available, it downloads and then gets stuck at 50% in the progress bar when trying to install. So I guess my question is, should I be worried about this? Is this the current version, and does it just say "JF6" because of my root? Also, will I need to unroot if I want to install the 2.2 update whenever it comes out?
I apologize for the novel, I'm just trying to be as informative about my situation as possible. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
JF6 is the stock firmware and JH7 was the ota update.
Sent from my Captivate
Alright thanks, but why is my phone still displaying "2.1-update1" if I still have the stock firmware? Is it because of the root that it is displaying JF6 instead of JH7?

Hi All,
I rooted my phone and tried a couple of ROMS recently just to play around but then decided to try go back to stock and wait for official updates. The way I did it was just to do a Nandroid restore and so far so good, I have the yellow triangle though and still have cwm installed. My problem now is that a 73.5mb OTA update appeared today which looks like it downloads and installs ok but when it reboots it goes into cwm recovery with an error E:Invalid command argument. If I then restart I get a message saying the update failed and I should try using Kies. If I connect my phone to Kies I get a message saying "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies"
I don't want to miss out on future updates and I'm not sure I want to carry on using custom ROMS any more so are there any ideas about what I need to do?
Many thanks!
Install Chainfire's ICS Repack via Mobile Odin then install "Triangle Away" App to remove yellow Triangle on Start up. Then flash again the stock firmware using PC Odin. then try OTA updates.
clarification
heloo man.. please can u explain how to do it? i did not get it:s so sorrry
Just letting you know that it worked fine thanks, bit of a scary moment when I first put the stock ROM on and it wouldn't stop crashing enough to get into the phone - a wipe/factory reset sorted this.
Thanks again.

Hi
If you've done a nandroid backup, flash it.
If no backup, you can safely flash with odin a 4.2 ROM from sammobile.
Done the both because of some problems with kitkat and worked fine even if I'm on kitkat now with everything working fine.

I was wondering the same thing myself cause i tried several times with different Stock ROM's without any success??
When you are trid to flash it comes up with some kind off authenication error (The only ROM i able to flash is the 4.4.)
And i am not even able to Root without getting stuck during boot. Tried several senarios.
CF-Root causes boot lock
T
ried Also : recovery_6.0.4.7.tar.md5
Then i get this Warning: kernel is not seandroid enforcing
Status for SE for Android:
Enforcing + type details
Build no:
KOT49H.I9295XXUCNE4
I read somewhere that a Stock ROM with modified files could do the trick:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715435
Maybe such a ROM would do the trick? Maybe someone else has done this work already.
i hope so - cause It kinda sucks running a Stock ROM
revert to 4.2.2
hello,
i have a GT-I9295
i have updated from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 PDA: I9295XXUCNH2 released 7 aug. via odin 3.09
had to do a factory reset to get wifi working, etc..
i then wanted to revert back to 4.2, but i couldn't, and still can't... i did the following:
- flash with odin the 4.2 from sammobile: error: NAND Write Start!!.....<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed. soft brik, Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.
- tried to reflash the 4.4 firmware i already had with odin...same error.
- couldnt boot the phone again untill i flashed cwm 6.0.5.0
- installed carbon rom from cwm no problem. did reset, wipe cahe, format system, etc. i now have the not seandroid enforcing message when booting and entering recovery, but everything works.
- tried to flash again with odin the 4.2 official, still no luck. same error right after nand write.
i remember downgrading from 4.4 PDA: I9295XXUCNE4 to 4.2 PDA: I9295XXUBML3 with no problems a while back on my other i9295 via odin.
is the bootloader different in this version of 4.4 i flashed than the one i flashed a while back?
the weird thing is that i get the same write failure with reflashing 4.4 with odin.
any thoughts?
thank you
Small update. You will not be able to downgrade from next after ne5 versions of KitKat.

Recently I tried to update my rooted phone using the safestrap method http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-g900aucu2aoa1-4-4-4-2-3-2015-t3021120 however I didn't read all the instructions and ended up having to reflash back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714455 and got the black screen. I tried reflashing stock multiple times and nothing.
fast forward with some help From OPOfreak I got my phone working again.
Ok now for the new problem.
I originally got the phone to work after flashing G900A_OA1_Stock_Kernel
The phone only seems to work if I flash this file. None others. Not even the NCE firmware.
Also I keep getting a notification stating "Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized changes." I've restarted a couple times but doesn't seem to do anything.
also I noticed in my about device: the baseband version is NCE, The build number is also NCE, but the SE for Android status shows enforcing 4.4.4.
I've been searching around and it doesn't seem like anyone else has had this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd just Odin back to NCE make sure you don't flash bootloader. Then just start over with the NG3 to OA1 update thread that's how I took the 4.4.4 update

I tried multiple times. But every time I tried I got a black screen at start up. I tried flashing them all at once, I tried flashing them all separately, I even tried flashing with the BL just to see. Every time I got the black screen.
On a whim I tried flashing just the NG3 modem to see what would happen. It seemed to work. Phone acted really weird, I had Baseband verison NG3, Build Number NCE, But I got the Android status back to 4.4.2.
after all that I was finally able to flash back to NCE, then took that OTA for NG3.
Thank you for all your help.
My phone is completely stock again. Haven't rerooted or anything. Should I go ahead and try http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-g900aucu2aoa1-4-4-4-2-3-2015-t3021120 to get 4.4.4 ? or will it OTA again to it?
