Hi,
Whenever I answer a call, after 5 seconds, it automatically switches the speaker phone. I turn on the screen and the speakerphone icon is not selected. I have to activate speakerphone then disable it to get it back to the standard headset mode.
I have had this problem since day 1 with the phone. I was one of the lucky few to order on release day in Canada. This occurs on stock 5.0, 5.1 rooted, CM12.1
Is this hardware related or just a software bug?
Thanks

In your case, I'm leaning towards hardware. I haven't heard of this before now. The fact that it happens across multiple ROMs is what leads me to believe it's hardware.
I am thinking it could be the screen protector playing with the sensor. I'll have to dig in some more.

Hey guys,
This issue has been plaguing me on and off, depending on which ROM I'm presently running (Jackos ATM, Cell Pro, Energy, X-Sense, and T-Mobile stock as well).
The 'end' key will make an annoying beep sound whenever pressed, even while locked, whenever the phone is not on silent. If something is in my pocket with my phone and I have my hands full, I have to hear this annoying beep sound every time I move; it's maddening.
Besides keeping my phone in silent mode all the time, has anyone come up with a solution?

Fortunately for you, you can deactivate the sound:-
Go to Settings>Personal>Phone> Change Keypad under the first tab to Off instead of Short tones.
However this will deactivate the sound of the keypad in case you care.
Hi Folks,
Happy HD7 user here, have had it a few weeks and really love it vs my previous phones.
However i have noticed that at varying periods of time that the sound seems to just stop working ? I noticed this most recently with alarms not going off, id often wake to the phone vibrating but no sound ? It wasnt set to vibrate either. When going to unlock the phone (Company enforced policy) the normal button taps also do not sound.
When making a call while the phone is in this state there is no sound what so ever on either end of the phone..
Soft resetting cures, but has anyone else had the same problem.
Phone is running o2 latest firmware (phone is unlocked and on the Vodafone Ireland Network).
I've had the sound stop working for music before, but I didn't try making a phone call or have an alarm go off while it wasn't working, so I can't say if all those things were affected. I assume they would be though.
Soft reset does fix it (until it does happen again, seems to be really random)
I came here looking to see if anyone was having this issue, to determine if it was just my hardware, or if it is software related.
I have noticed that at varying periods of time that the sound seems to just stop working; ie. vibrating but no sound on alarms, and the normal button taps not producing sound when going to unlock the phone.
However, when making a call while the phone is in this state, I can hear the called party fine, but they can not hear me at all.
A soft reboot solves these issues for me as well.
I am hoping that the Jan. update corrects this issue, because I do enjoy the HD7 very much.
had the same problem, it was caused when i set the alarm and the alarm was setting off but could not wake me, so the alarm was like ringing for hours, then when i woke up, i see in my screen the snooze and dismiss buttons. so i press dismiss.. but the all sounds from phone were gone...(rings, notfications, music).. i had to softreset the phone to get it working again.
I think that the problem is that the phone take a deep sleep if you push it off. Perhaps MS reduce the cpu power or clock speed in Standby-Mode to save battery life.
I dont know it shure, but the phone responds same as my old blackstone with installed
nueClockControl which allows you to change the clock speed.

I'm having the sound issue but soft reset didn't help. Any other thing that I can try to fix it?
Hi, I'm fairly new to the Android scene.
Just bought a Nexus One a week ago and still trying to figure things out.
I've been looking, but I haven't been able to find any way to mute incoming calls or snooze the alarms by turning the phone upside down.
Seems like this should be a pretty stand function for smartphones.
At first I thought the phone didn't even have a proximity sensor, but looking in the manual shows that the sensor is present.
So my question is that is this even possible?
I've just started playing with Tasker today, if it's possible via Tasker, let me know how I can set it up to do so.

is your nexus rooted? are you running a custom Rom? don't think its possible to flip the phone over to silence it if your running a stock Rom but many custom roms do
there are some apps in the market, flipsilence and rd mute. Try them out.
I'll be darn if I can figure out what is going on here.
4.1.2, stock except for custom kernel brick bug prevention.
I've had this rom running since it was released (this is a note international, GBT via amazon, used in the states)
Never had an issue, but I've started to notice a couple missed calls. Today, I saw what was happening.
Incoming calls, the ringer only rings for maybe 1/2 second, phone continues to "ring" but you never hear
anything! It's like it has been silenced as if you quickly pressed a button. That's how it acts without bluetooth.
If I have my bluetooth (jawbone ERA) turned on, SOMETIMES, if the screen is off, it NEVER rings, on the speakerphone
I'm using to dial my Note, I hear it ring 2 times, then go directly to voicemail. Sometimes it does that, sometimes it does
not, otherwise, the phone ringtone plays for a split second, headset continues to ring normally. Screen shows the incoming
call, but no ringtone. I haven't tweaked, installed, updated anything to cause this. Just one day it started doing it.
I'm about to do a clear reset, but it's just a PITA to set it up. Device is going on 18 months old, first issue I've really had
with it other than a bad USB port or a worn battery.
Any clues?
edit: Found the issue...I use call control as a phone number blocker. In settings, I had on for blocked calls, "remove partial ring" turned on. Once that was turned off, everything started working.
Problem: Sometimes when I am on a normal phone call (Outgoing or Incoming), speakers turns on it's own. If i look at phone, the speaker icon is not "GREEN" (which means it wasn't pressed). I have to press the speaker icon once and nothing happens because at that time the phone starts loud speaker (Which is already turned on) and then i press it again to turn it off and everything is back to normal.
During a single call this can happen multiple times
And I have tried clear cache partition and factory reset from the setting and factory reset from bootloader
Phone model SM-N960F
INTERNATIONAL
DUAL SIM
Android 8.1.0
Samsung experience 9.5
Any one had this problem and solved it ?
It any one who can help ?
please help
same problem here.... help please ... its very anoying
try turning off the smart gestures where when you put the phone to your ear it auto switches, etc... or use a headset or bluetooth
i too had this issue before. when you google this issue, apparently many are experiencing it. what i did was to off the microphone permission for my voice recording app. if you have call recording app or voice recording app, you may wish to see if there is any setting regarding to microphone or speaker.
