I've just received my N910C in the mail and so far I am loving it. The phone feels so nice in my hand and I'm gonna be getting a Spigen Tough Armor Case for it soon. I will be posting every so often as to say how my experience has been so far with the N910C.

Good luck with new N4 . Just to recommend try Samsung note 4 protective cover, it is official Samsung product and less bulkier than Spigen. it look's great On N4.
Agree i m using from last 6 month, It's worth.

Does it offer good protection for the Note 4? Because that is the main reason I'm considering getting the Spigen Tough Armor for my Note 4.
Also does anybody have the Case-Mate POP Case for the Note 4? I want to know if it's a 2 or single part case.

I agree with you, I have the blue one, I read around the internet spigen covers does scratch the Note 4 sides !!!
Day 1 with my Galaxy Note 4. Yes, I am now officially using my Note 4 as my daily driver and so far I am loving it. The only problems I've had is that some of my old apps and game. I have also notice that some of my DivX/XviD avi videos won't play on the bundle video player, which is strange as I can play them without any problems on my old SGSII. I'm getting excellent cell reception despite the fact that it took forever for my cell provide to transfer my cell data from my old SIM to a new MicroSIM. Waiting for it to activate took a few hours.
The audio quality on the stock bundle music player is amazing despite the fact that I am still using the headset supplied with my old SGSII.
Still getting use to the size difference, but the fact that it is more or less the same thickness as my old SGSII makes it quite easy to handle. I'm surprised at how well the Note 4 is constructed it feels like a real high grade Premium phone when compared to my old SGSII. Which makes me wonder why Samsung didn't adopt the design of the Note 4 for the SGS6 flagship as I believe that it gives the same premium feel but keeps the removable battery and microSDCard expandability which made them a real fan favorite.

I've actual read on Amazon that the official Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Protective Cover doesn't offer as much protection as other cases. One reviewer even said that they dropped their Note 4 with the Samsung Protective Cover on and it cracked the aluminum frame.

MX Player is the best video player for Android, in my experience. It should play anything you throw at it. Free ad-supported version is at:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en_GB
Or you can get the Pro version to support the developer and lose the ads. Also VLC is another free option:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.videolan.vlc&hl=en_GB
Well it is alaways possible to crack phone.. it depends how and on what it fell ..so.. i have tryed many casses 4 my device so far i am pleased with protective cover.. in my opinion i think it offers enough protection in every day use ..

Yeah, I'm just gonna install MoboPlayer but I find it funny how I can play all those same videos on my SGSII's stock video player but I can't play them on the stock video player on my Note 4....
just switched over from S4 I9505 to N910C, just updating FW and will be rooting it. I think I'll love it! Love SGP's casing, been using them since S2 days. I like the neo hybrid especially
1 Week Update:
So it's been a week since I've gotten my Note N910C and I've also gotten a Spigen Tough Armor Case in Gunmetal for it. I really don't get what everybody is saying about the Spigen Tough Armor Case adding allot of bulk to the Note 4, as I've had it on my Note 4 for a week now and I hardly notice much of a size difference with it on or off. I'm really enjoying my Note 4, I've managed to install Street Fighter IV HD on it finally turns out I have to download a different version of the game for my Note 4. Had to configure the voicemail number of my cell provider. Otherwise it's been really good. Took a few days to get use to the size difference from using my old SGSII but now it feels so weird to use a smaller phone. I love the screen quality when watching videos, the colors are amazing and the blacks are much better than traditional LCD panels.

I've taken my Note 4 in and out of my Spigen Tough Armor a few times since I've had it and so far it's been fine. I guess if you know how to take the phone out of the case you can avoid scratching the aluminium sides.
I followed the instructions on how to do it on this youtube video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnEptW3hJrY
I've recently just notice something interesting with regards to the Galaxy Note 4's display, which I didn't notice when I 1st got it. At 1st I thought it was a manufacturing defect but on further research I know it's actually part of the Note 4's design. The screen on the Note 4 has a slight curve, which makes the screen look like it has a bulge in the center of the screen. After some online research I found out that this is part of the Note 4's design for provide better viewing angles.
Week 2 Update:
So it's been about 2 weeks since I've had my Note 4 and I am still loving it! I've even been able to get up to 5 days of battery life by disabling WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Cell Data Connectivity and only turning them on when I need them.
I've also discover that the slight bulge in the center of the display is part of the Note 4's design as it sports 2.5D glass, which enables better viewing angles than traditional flat displays. I'm still blown away by how good the colors look on the SuperAMOLED QuadHD display, I recently rewatch the Ryu & Ken Vs M.Bison (Vega to those in Asia) fight in the end of the Street Fighter II anime movi, which really shows off the display! I've also played a few low power games Unlock and Bejewelled 2 that work great as expected. I did do a quick race in Asphalt 8 and I barely noticed any dropped frames or lag in performance.
Call quality is excellent and I do get excellent cell reception despite the fact that my cell provider doesn't have particular good network coverage.

I would find out what LTE Bands they use as that could be what is causing the problem with your Note 4. But then again the N910C does work with allot of international Cat4 LTE bands.

Hi T.J.,
I'm glad to hear that you've been happy with our products! Unfortunately, we aren't making one for the Note 2. We lost quite a bit of money on the first Note as the sales were pretty terrible for it, so we decided to sit this one out. Sorry!

Kinda upset by that, actually. I absolutely love their cases--best TPUs out there, regardless of price.
You can find similar matte TPU cases on ebay, not that disappointing IMHO but to each their own.
Poor decision IMO, but I saw it coming when there wasn't anything at release. I stopped taking diz seriously when I saw the quality of my case for my EVO LTE. I stopped sending that small time outfit my money a while ago, I'll stick with Cruzerlite, or rather go eBay then send them anything in the future.. lol, I think the OG Note sold millions internationally in the first weeks of sales.. Samsung just released a comment that claims the Note II will triple that pace.
Terrible sales and inventory fails are nobodies fault but their own IMO.
*Edit - and just like that Cruzerlite has saved the day! http://www.cruzerlite.com/cases/sam...dified-a2-tpu-case-for-samsung-galaxy-note-ii
Thanks for this info. Good to know that I shouldn't wait on Diztronic.
I think this is a bad decision for them. Note II will definitely sell more, being on all the major US carriers: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. (Note 1 originally released only on AT&T). Plus, there's huge marketing campaign Samsung has these days. Including the 60 and 90 second Lebron James commercials.
I really liked their cases for S II and S III. I will seek out a similar product from another company.
Well thats sad to hear. I have a matte black diztronic tpu case on my 717 and its awesome. I get compliments on it all the time.
Going with a clear case tho, I dont wanna hide the pretty titanium grey color by covering it up with a case.

Oh well, their loss. I've had Diztronic cases on the last 4 of my phones. Ended up going with the Cruzerlite this time around since I didn't see any Diztronic. You win some, you lose some.
Hmm, I wonder if they thought it through. The Note 1 was only on AT&T so I can see why there was limited sales. However, the Note 2 is on all 4 major carriers and they are all the same stylewise(except for small cosmetic differences on the T-Mobile one I think).
I tried talking to them on 10/24 and they gave me the same BS. best you can do is email them here

I'm pretty sure they missed their chance with most.. Pretty foolish of them to counter now IMO so late in the game. I bet they'll be unhappy with the sales again and likely blame the device again. For the few consumers that didn't buy anything yet, maybe they'll have a chance. I for one already got my Cruzerlite cases and couldn't be happier, much better molding process compared to my diz cases from my LTE.
Plus if anyone is looking for black then look at this http://www.cruzerlite.com/cases/sam...r-cyanogenmod-case-for-samsung-galaxy-note-ii

Thats really nothing like the diztronic case. That case offers minimal/no protection (only the back). The diztronic covered all sides and had a lip.

It is significant for those of us that use the battery.

I'm not sure everyone will agree with you
For me the weight is a non issue as ive been able to lift a half a pound since i was a baby and would have expected more people to be able to do the same. All the nonsense of thinner and lighter blows my mind
Cant wait till the extra protection gets here. Been waiting on this case for almost 6 months
gNOTE2 rolling in the north
If the regular battery and a case lasts the entire day why would you add the extra weight and potential extra damage if dropped?
With the rugged case I'm sure I'll be using it more with the extra protection as I wasn't impressed with the stock case and it's finish fading.

Thats just it, if you actually use your phone you can drain the battery easily in 4 hours. I have at least 10 apps i can only use while at home after work because they WILL drain the battery rediculously fast. Now on the flip side if its a really busy day at work and i have data and such turned off i can have 90% left when i get home. But thats only if i dont use it.
The dropping it with the extra weight part doesnt concern me as im fairly careful with a $700 device

It seems like they've tiptoed back again on this; at least, I haven't seen it for sale yet, and their website apparently has entirely different dates. This battery is great, but waiting for the rugged case has been an exercise in patience. The Note 3 is getting a rugged case apparently right off the bat, yet we've been sitting with the previous version waiting for just the case itself for months.

I would, but as I'm A: not married, and B: not a lesbian, I don't have a wife. :silly:
Also, I like my Note 2 just fine. About the only thing that interests me in the Note 3 is that the S-Pen works with the buttons. Otherwise, I plan on keeping this phone for another year, with the ZeroLemon battery; it would just be nice to not have to mod a damn case to give it more protection.

Extra weight? It's a few ounces. If you can lift a can of soda I'm assuming you can manage to lift your phone.
The finish isn't fading from my original zl case and I was one of the relatively early adopters.
As for drop protection, my phone survived flying out of my car and didn't get a scratch.

Oh don't worry, very soon he will be rocking 10000 mAh ZL battery for N3, and a rugged case. I have a feeling everybody is going to get their rugged case before Note 2. I was joking before saying it would be funny to have release of N2 rugged case on November 1st to celebrate one year release of Note 2. Right now it's starting to look like a reality lol!!!
Btw, still no rugged case here... Do you guys realize that a first time I mentioned about rugged case (from ZL guys) was probably around early June time? That's 5 months of waiting for something that might... but anyway, I'm not making any judgment based on other comments or s3 pictures. Let's wait and see if I ever going to get it in my hands for review before the actual amazon availability. At this point it doesn't look like anything groundbreaking except for removable backplate to support different battery sizes and modded Defender mold.
It was actually in your first pafe of review in April

I was not seeing my questions answered in detail about the new Gear VR, so I decided to just buy the item myself and give it a test run with my Note 4.
Yes, it works and fits just fine without modding.
No, the charge port still does not work even with the provided adapter.
Yes, you can enjoy cardboard apps with it.
No, your D-pad will not work with Cardboard apps.
They say the field of view is greater. It is obviously less for me, at least for the Note 4.
It is definitely a midnight blue color with black accents. Looks black in a lot of photos.
No you may not mod the cover with a cooling fan because the cover does not fit while the phone is mounted.
In conclusion, I will be returning the product because while the Gear VR experience is super cool, the last model (SM-R322), once modded, is better on all fronts minus working charge port.
Edit: I got the D-pad to work with Google Cardboard by restarting the phone

My bad, getting pics now. No, headphone jack is NOT blocked off. Ok, here is the mask that lessens the field of view from the old one. There is the cover that doesn't fit while the phone is mounted, and there is the headphones jack clearance that can now be used.
I wonder if the cover doesn't fit because you have a Note 4. If it's the same for all phones I guess it's just to protect the lens.

Could be but I'm sure I read the same complaint for a different model elsewhere. Perhaps someone else can confirm or deny.
The fit is also quite different. This cover latches into the clips in place of the phone while the older one wraps around the bulk of the front enclosing the headset. This cover does not enclose, it just kinda sits in there.

I have the 2015 version and I only use the cover to protect the lens when I'm not using it. I don't see the purpose of using the cover when your phone is in the Gear VR. Besides it may hold in heat. I don't think many people with the older gear use the cover with the phone in. That's probably why they redesigned it as a protective cover when not in use.

In that case it should also work with a N910C running stock firmware. I will post a update to say if it does once I get a Gear VR.
My verizon note4 works perfectly with the 2016 gear vr. It prompted me to install oculus apps.
Ive also streamed a few pc games from my gaming pc and it works well.
But it doesnt charge while in use through the passthrough charging port. Any workarounds for this?? I think I might need to get one of those 10000mah batteries.

Have seen zero workarounds. Good thing is this version is probably better with extended batteries and their fatter backs. Please let us know if you give it a go.
lukasz mentioned on the other Note 4 post that he had to make a headset mod. I guess that all depends on your vision and how recessed back into the headset you have to go. With my vision, I would not have to make that mod because it jutted enough forward to give me headset port clearance. Something to consider

VERY NICE and innovative, thanks for sharing!!!
Ok....I picked up a 323 this morning.....I'll do a report later.
I'm coming from the original Note 4 version which is superbly built
It will be fun to compare the 2?
I spent a good bit of time assessing the 323 with the Note 4 bearing in mind that I came from the 1st innovator edition.
I have to say that it's a big step forward
A few points
It fits in with no modding
I had to re boot the phone to get cardboard to work with the touch pad.... I use the Cardboard for Gear VR app
I think that the usb connector is a bit bit fiddly and sometimes you have to jig it a little to make contact......but I suspect that's the same for all phones on this VR....it might be the usb adapter
The headphone area doesn't need modding depending on what headphones you use.....Samsung phone ones grand....Bose QC 25 grand....Sennheiser 414's no go
The wide field of is fantastic and the lenses seem much sharper.......now this is important!..... When I first tried it there was some serious warping on the sides of the screens...movies etc. The fix is to delete every bit of Oculus and VR software (not cardboard apps) and resintall.....that seemed to improve it dramatically. I don't think I could have lived with the warping
It might be heating up the phone a bit faster but not sure about that without further testing. I find Samsung Internet a heat hog especially when streaming videos etc
The fogging is much better
Oh yes and the usb power socket doesn't work
The build quality can't compare but all in all it's a better vr experience......
I never tried the modded 322 so can't compare but I expect that the wider field of view would make it worth it
Bottom line is I'll be selling my Note 4 Innovator edition......although I think the value will drop now that this 323 has come out
Hope this helps:good:
Good evening you good people of XDA land! :highfive:
I am looking for a new phone to replace my now very broken and almost dead iPhone 6 plus for a S7 Edge. When I get the new handset I will need a new case for it, but here is my dilemma! what case to go for?
I have read a lot of reviews that say the battery live isn't as good as other handsets win this size, so I'm not sure as weather to try a batter case. I've never used one and I'm a bit concerned that it will add too much bulk to the handset or worst case damage it in some way. for my old Iphone I had a Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal Cover Case and really like it but felt that the metal in places was very thin, and eventually it did break. I was thinking of getting the same for the S7 and getting an external battery charger thing.
I would be grateful for any advise and opinions form you chaps and chapets!

I'm now using led cover, and work really well, but I don't recommend it for you... because it will open and let your phone face down when fall..... And an battery case can work well and more useful... because my S7E won't last whole day gaming...... ,start at 10 AM and battery dead at 9 PM(which is very good, but not enough for me D so get battery case if you need do fit or game..... if not get other case...... you can last one day without charge if you don't game....
Used since October and no once fall.(sorry if my English not so good)

Thanks,
I do a bit of gaming, but not massive amounts and not really anything to intense. FM16 was as far a I went in my iPhone.

I have the UAG, Spigen Neo Hybrid, Poetic Affinity, and Tech21 Evo frame and so far the Tech21 is my favorite. I do really like the other case and the UAG is my second favorite but it is just a little too busy on back for my taste. All the cases I named are very good though. Hope this helps
Why get an S7 edge when s8 is just around the corner?

1) $100 discount
2) It still has a headphone jack
3) It still has the fingerprint scanner on the front, where it belongs.
4) If required, there is a working root solution today. There are no guarantees an engineering root (or any root) will ever work on the S8.

This, 9 days away from revealing, for sale just after.
1. I'd pay $100 to have such a big difference. It's not like an iPhone that's virtually the same every year.
2.S8 has a headphone jack. Again, it's not an iPhone
3.Finger scanner on back isn't bad. Think about where you place your fingers on back when holding. It's not unergonomic. Plus, bigger screen so...
4. What is root really worth anymore? It's NOTHING like it used to be unless you want broken apps and $hit battery life

Thanks Joe, I've been bouncing back on forth on whether to root - mainly out of nostalgia for the fun of ROM swapping and eaking out more life from the phone.
But you've helped convince me there's very little I miss about rooting, nothing that isn't outweighed by stability.

I used to root/jailbreak EVERYTHING. I wouldn't buy a phone I couldn't root. I even still have a Note tablet running a CM Nougat. I wouldn't get a phone I couldn't root, I've built several stable af and reputable ROMs. Now days, especially with Package Disabler I haven't rooted in a long time. Xposed, everything is so problematic. Root cloaks don't hide root from most apps, and MANY apps are broken or simply state they won't work with root. Not to mention you run a kernel meant to be flashed, the phones problem fixed, then flashed stock. It's NOT for daily use. Instability, excessive battery drain, there's nothing enticing about root anymore.

It's a cost cutting exercise. I need a new phone and I want one that is as up to date as possible. I've got a iPhone 6 Plus but to upgrade to the 7 plus will set me back around £100 upfront and then £30-40 more a month than the s7.
I'm going to guess that the s8 will cost the same!

IMO, your best bet is to invest in wireless charging and not worry so much about battery. I have a dock for work and one for home. When I'm not using it, it's on the dock charging. Really changes how you use it over time. Case is really a personal choice. I'm happy as can be with Spigen Rugged Armor. Doesn't affect wireless rapid charge at all.
On another note, play with one at the store. The edge can be kind of frustrating. Case reduces ghost touches, but it's still there. There are also other little annoying things like the placement of the attachment button in messages. I use that several times a day, and it is annoyingly right on that edge. If you watch a lot of video tho, it really looks great on this screen.

I'm not sure wireless will work for me at work as I don't have anywhere other than my pocket to leave the phone!
That's one reason why I was lookin at battery cases. I'm having trouble picking a case as I can really tell from pics online what they are like. And I'm not sure if any local shops have a decent range of cases to browse!

Right on. I'd grab the phone first, see how it meets your needs. Accessories don't resell well, if at all. Power banks are cheap enough, altho I'll skip. I'd rather have an ugly case than 2 bricks tethered together. Good luck with your purchases.
ETA:
If you use power save mode on these, you can literally get days of use from a charge. With everything set to performance, I still get through a full day on it.

If you're leaving your phone in your pocket, then (depending on how tight your pockets are) you really have a choice between a case or a power bank. Personally I'd choose a bank because you can charge anything with it and they're insanely cheaper (US $15 vs. US$85 for a charging case). If you do get a case, I'd recommend spending a little extra (especially if you're getting the S7 on sale) and getting one from a solid company with a good manufacturer's warranty so that, if it breaks, you can get it fixed.
Another reason to get the S7E is that is still uses MicroUSB and not USB-C, so it'll be easier getting accessories for it.

I'm really considering a power bank. I have a Microsoft surface 3 that I can't plug in anywhere at college so could do with having something for that. Any suggestions on what power bank to look at?
Cheers
If you're getting an S7 Edge, which i don't recommend, please don't get it through sprint. This phone is so packed with bs and everything else wrong with it, go to verizon if you still want this phone.

eh dont deal with any carrier - tmo seems to be the least intrusive
if you really want it - get the 935F (exanos, international version). you'll get the latest updates from samsung and then also have the capability to load ROMs, etc if you want to. battery lasts longer too.
Is anyone planning on getting this case? I got one for my OnePlus 3T and did not like it, I've read that they have improved since then though.
Anyone get it for the s8/8+? How was it with that?
I had one for my S8, and I have already pre-ordered one for my Note 8. I've used these since I initially got an S6, I think.
They're the best. I use them when I go hiking, play sports, or go out drinking. They improved them quite a bit for the S8 (in fact, they did a free replacement from v1 to v2 for my S8 case) - they fixed the difficulty of hitting buttons, which was my biggest complaint for the Pixel version I had.
They also recently sent out an email about improving the material for the Note version. It's now something like 40% smaller?
I really hope it's compatible with my Whitestone!

That was my biggest grip about it with my OnePlus was the buttons were impossible to press.
I'm waiting to see if it's compatible with the Whitestone as well before I pull the trigger on both.

Mines came in today.
It feels great in the hand.
It is slimer the the s8plus one i have (had ver1)
Buttons press is very good. My s8plus one was a bit hard at time.
The bottom where the ports are are soft and dont dog into my fingers.
The spen slot is open more on the right. It lets you press the button and then use a right finger to pull it out.
Overall its great and worth the money.
I havent done any drop test, because thats not what i do.
Mine came today to and yes it works with my Power peak product tempered glass screen protector perfect. But I'm not doing a drop test on my $1000 phone

Just received my crash guard. This is a very minimal case. The buttons are tactile. It's very easy to put the case on. There isn't much give on the side when you pull it so it stays on pretty tight. However, The case itself is a bit slippery.
Screen protector I am using is the Spigen neo flex and it is compatible.

Slippery?
Mines and my wife's are fine. I can grab the phone by the edges with light pressure and the phone not slide out.
