hello, guys.
i just bought a new MemoPad. the lollipop update disabled a couple of apps and games that both my mom and i use.
i tried scouring the forums as much as possible. i lurked around and read every post related to this device. sadly, i couldn't find the answers i needed. so here i am..
i was wondering if anyone has successfully downgraded back to kitkat with their tablet. and if so, what are the steps? i'm not completely computer illiterate, but i am very new to android.
any help would be very appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
Need solution for this too

Hey everyone,
Purchased Moto X yesterday. Tried rooting it today with no luck after trying many different methods/watching videos. Each time I tried to install a Moto root app it was unsuccessful. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!

What version is it running? Mine had 4.2 on it when I got it a few weeks ago and I used the "SlapMyMoto" method which worked very well.

EDIT: If you have read any of the guides for rooting the Moto X, it IS pretty explanatory in terms of saying you must be on 4.2.2, and if you're on 4.4, you must downgrade. Carry on with the following...
I mean, let's all be civil about the whole situation. Long story short, OP, if you're on 4.4, you have to downgrade to 4.2.2 camera update (not the original 4.2.2, but the camera update version of 4.2.2) and then do the rooting, and then upgrade back to 4.4. I'm assuming because you're not able to get root apps to run or get the process to work, you must be on 4.4. If you're on 4.2.2, post what issue you're having in the respected forum for it. Or try searching that particular error via google or the site, and see what comes up. Chances are, others have had the same issue as you and have found out what works and what doesn't.
lets make this real simple for everyone here no more flaming and here is a guide for rooting 4.4 and it also links to all the other guides

First things first, I want to say hello and I want to apologize in advance for asking questions which were probably answered at least 100 times so far, but I just can't find my way around this forum. I also want to say that today is the first time that I got an Android mobile phone of my own, so bear with me.
I have spent 3 hours on google trying to find out things by myself, but it left me with even more questions than answers.
What I want to know is how to make my phone as fast / efficient as possible.
I just got a Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000, running 2.3.3 Firmware version and I9000XXJVO Baseband Version.
Which is the newest version of firmware I can use and how do I install it? What programs does it require, and how much time does it take to do?
Even just linking me a step by step guide / thread where it was explained would be GREATLY appreciated.
Again, I want to say that I have 0 experience with Androids, but hey, there is a first time for everything, right?
Many thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to help me.
Android 2.3 is "ancient" now.
If you want something more up to date, and faster, you'll need to install a custom ROM.
Don't rush into it, especially if you need your phone as a phone every day. Take some time to learn.
The latest custom/AOSP ROMs are Kitkat 4.4.
Most popular is CM11. Start reading here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526478
Hi all,
I'm desperately looking for a download of "Blur_Version.990.43.74.XT890.Retail.en.EU". I have searched all over the web, the dark web and even the 9th circle of hell but to no avail.
Here are some more information about the installed Android version:
System version: 990.43.74.XT890.Retail.en.EU
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.0.34+ [email protected] #1 Tue Jan 6 13:08:54 CST 2015
Build number: KIA20.74
I need to do a recovery of my installed Android version, but I don't want to root my device. I believe the recovery will fix issues with the battery. Android seems to only get erratic readings of the charge status and thus shuts the device down within minutes or even seconds after disconnecting it from the charger. I read elsewhere that this is not necessarily a hardware issue and some people were able to fix this problem by recovering the same Android version they already had installed.
Does anyone still have a zip of this OTA upgrade and could kindly provide it to me? Or maybe someone knows of a link I havn't found yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Same here!
Hi
I have this exact same problem after recently updating to KitKat OTA. I would also like to do a recovery from a stock ROM but can't find one.
Would appreciate a pointer to stock ROM:. 990.43.74.XT890.Orange.en.GB
Have heard that downgrading to JB stock ROM will brick my phone.
Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Please keep an eye on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/razr-i/development/razr-xt890-4-4-2-eu-ota-update- t3092041/page4
And also on the motorola forums here
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/MOTOROLA-RAZR-i/Motorola-Razr-i-Upgrade-Update/td-p/3154317/highlight/false/page/86
This seems to be effecting several people now - hopefully the more people who post in these threads will help us get a fix.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Please help! My Motorola Razr i (xt890) has developed the same problem described in this and other earlier threads - very erratic battery, jumps from 100%-4%-47%-9% etc. Phone is unusable, but was previously working great and I just want to fix it. I have zero technical knowledge so would love to know if anyone has managed to re-install (or upgrade or downgrade) ROM without bricking the phone.
same problem here since 2 days. where to get that flash ? 990.43.74.xt890.retail.en.eu
please help me!
I'm also in the same boat. I'd purposely not updated from ICS and still not sure how this update has occurred, regardless I now have the same battery spike issues and have been scouring the web for a copy of: 990.43.74.XT890.Retail.en.GB to try to fix it.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Good day, guys!!!
I tried to find any info about that problem-making phone (HTC Desire 626g+), but nothing new was found here. So I took all my courage to ask: is there any news about 1) any Android update like lollipop or higher and 2) Any custom ROM for it?
If someone succeeded in flashing it with any custom ROM, I will highly appreciate in a small guidance.
P.S. Ended-up this month with this device without any possibility to get something else for next 2-3 month and I found that stock ROM which is 4.4.2 for me is not comfortable at all (who has big fingers will understand my battle with navigation buttons while typing the message).
Thank you in advance for help or/and for your time reading this thread.
Hi Guys,
I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and a bit confused if honest with the amount of info and articles on this site.
I am a noob to this forum and would like to root my Kindle Fire HD running 5.1.2 and get the Google play store etc running on it. I am also considering putting the CyanogenMod on it as well if that goes well.
I have read quite a few of the articles and have a few questions before giving it a go.
How do you stop the OTA updates while trying to root it (using Kingroot)? Worried about it auto updating to the latest software 5.3.2.1 I think which is not currently modifiable.
Is there an up to date root guide? A lot of them seem quite old now. Am worried about bricking the device. Root Junky has seemingly a good guide. Is this the way to go for a first time try?
What is the recommended CyanogenMod rom version to try now? Or as the project is dead should I bother and look for a different operating system?
Thanks for your help much appreciated.
