i have a samsung s6 model 920a from att...i try to use mobile sim card.. no luck.. i also brought a unlock code online.. not working also.
is there other way to unlock sim
Ask your provider for the unlock code. If you're a customer in good standing, they'll provide it. If you have purchased the phone outright, I think they're obliged too provide it, at least here in the U.S.

Purchased a HTC One that appears locked to O2 carrier (unbeknownst to me when I purchased on Ebay). When I inserted my AT&T sim card, I got a message asking me for the SIM unlock code. (not AT&T PUK code). Anyone have any idea how to remedy this situation. Any advice appreciated.

Is it locked to English O2? You can buy these unlock codes online, or wait 3 months and then get the carrier to unlock.
If I were you I would contact ebay and return it and wait for the AT&T model to be released. Someone here may know how to unlock it though, I have no clue.

Are you in the UK? If so buy a Pay as you Go O2 sim card, load it with £15, then fill in the unlock form on the O2 site and it will be unlocked within 3 days.
If you are in the US, then there is nothing much you could do, there might be unofficial ways to unlock the phone but I am not aware of them. Since you purchased from eBay, your best bet would be to return it as wrongly described.
Try one of these solutions:
1) If you have a look at this forum thread, it may help you with your problem
2) Also try this company mobileunlocks if they cannot supply the unlock code they will refund you.
3) Search ebay you will find sellers selling unlock codes on there too
anybody know how to unlock the sim lock of the phone free? or cheap?
cellunlocker.net is providing for 8$ :-/
thats the cheapest i can find
anybody have any suggestions?
btw i live in Canada and provider is fido
ok well i got the sim unlock code
is there any way to unlock the sim lock without inserting another sim card?
i just purchased a tmobile note 4 on CL. Requested an unlock code thru chat and they said they will process it.
when i inserted a tmobile sim, which i didn't have at the time, it did not register. So i contacted tmobile and they
said phone is blocked due to EIP (non-payment). Well I just got an email with the unlock code. Thought tmobile
doesn't give out the unlock codes unless the phone is in good standing. seller is not responding.
Could i flash the imei?

You cant flash an IMEI on SIM based phones and it's illegal. USE PM's for that.
I reached out to sprint for the unlock code to unlock my phone. The rep, via chat, told me that my phone is already unlocked to be used locally and internationally. I asked him to give the code anyway just in case, and he said "Unlocking code or MSL code is only for older devices that are not unlock capable."
I thought only Verizon's phones were sold unlocked. Has sprint started doing this as well on new phones?

No its uicc locked domestically if purchased through sprint until paid off, internationally yes its capable of using any sim on non domestic towers.
Once fully paid off etc you can ask for it to have a uicc unlock so it will accept a att sim etc.
I bought it brand new off eBay. Maybe that's why the agent said it is already unlocked?

A friend of mine tried to put a different sim on his Sprint phone outside of the USA and couldn't. He had to call Sprint to unlock it.

Is it a SM-950U or U1 ?
U1 is unbranded version and pre-unlocked. The U is the carrier variant.
The U would have been locked unless purchased full retail and active on a account atleast 50 days per sprint policy.
Sprint technically dosnt have to unlock it if it dosnt meet their guidelines.

Did you try inserting another SIM card in your Note 8 and see if you can place a call?
If it works with a card other than Sprint, it should work even abroad.

I don't have one to try it. Otherwise, that would have been one of my first tries.
mine got unlocked automatically after ~50 days last fall
i didn't contact them or anything, one day it just ... happened
it was paid in full from Samsung since they had that sweet trade-in deal for Note7 owners

I had to wait 50 days, and it automatically unlocked. No lease, no payments.
Apparently the only way is to call them, If I buy this phone used would I have any chance of unlocking it in the future ?
Hello,
I have gotten a new S23 (regular), which was a freebie from AT&T. My friend decided to be gracious and to give me one, however I am still dealing with SIM unlock. Is it possible it download a firmware like -U1 to work with my current carrier in Japan?
It's possible to flash it to U1, but it won't SIM unlock the device, just change it to the unbranded software. If you want it SIM unlocked, he either has to pay off the phone (its free after monthly credits) or you pay whatever shady service on Ebay to unlock it for you.

He traded a Note 2 for the phone (There is a deal at AT&T for any Samsung phone comes a free S23).
Yeah, after bill credits. Once the phone is paid off, they'll unlock it.
