I have a MOTO X 2014 pure and every time I wake it up I see a little message pop up in the middle of the the screen, reading "network connection failed". I still get all my data connectivity and alerts (as far as I know) ..I tested using speedtest and get great upload and download speeds, but this alert is bugging the heck out of me.
Anyone know what causes this or how to fix it?
I'm on AT&T LTE

Just bumping up to see if anyone can help.

Well...I may have found the cause.
Everything was fine and I switched over to an old Blackberry q10 for a few days by switching the sim card. Everything worked but after a while I went back to my MOTO X and the network failure alert started. I looked at my account on AT&T and saw that my data plan had gone from "smartphone data" to "BlackBerry data".
After leaving the sim in the MOTO X the alert occurred less and less. Now my account data is " smartphone data" again and the alerts seem to have stopped.
This must have just been caused by the BlackBerry forcing a different data type in the account and the MOTO X trying to resolve it.
..just for the general knowledge in case any one else runs into a similar problem.

It turns out that the network problem had returned. I still have "smartphone data" on my account ...So that wasn't the issue.
After digging around on my phone I found an app called iVMS4500 that I use to keep track of DVRs and cameras I've installed.... Well it appears that app is the cause. Whenever I start the app then swipe it closed..even if I log out ..I get the network error, but if I FORCE STOP the app, the network error disappears.
So it appears that the network issue was caused entirely by the app.
In case anyone else runs into this. Check any apps that may use a network connection when closed..perhaps ones that run background notifications.
I FORCE closed the app and the problem disappeared.

I have had this phone close to two months now
In the last two weeks or so, I have been unable to make/receive calls or text messages while im in roaming
My provider allows me to do so, and have called and been told that my account is able to
Is there some app not allowing me to do so? I have uninstalled the apps that can make calls that I had but still no luck (Skype, Tango, Kakao Talk and Text)
Please help!!! Maybe something in the hidden menus perhaps, just need help where to look...
Thanks
slide down the statusbar. Hold on the data toggle. Settings should appear. Make sure roaming is ticked

Unfortunately, "Data roaming" has always been ticked
More info into my situation:
LG P880G
Android 4.0.3 (V10F)
did you tried to contact LG costumer support ?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
not yet, guess i have to
Anyone know if the RemoteCall service is any good?
Would factory resetting the phone make any difference? Could an app have really done this sort of disabling?
well, p880g is canadian model - you're from canada i guess?
first off, did it work before? if it did, then factory reset is 98% sure to help. if you re-flash kdz, i think you have 99% chance of making it work. that 1% is for some obscure problem that came up, and is exclusive with p880g, which not many of people here have.
Every time I call I get a message that I'm roaming and I can't make a call. Text messages don't go through either. At least I still have a data connection... Right

I have the same issue, did you find any sort of fix?
Yes I updated my profile and prl. Not sure why or how it got to that point though

Same thing
I'm having the same problem. It seems like it started when I updated to the newest software. When I'm right next to a tower, it seems to work normal, but when I get anywhere else...not so much. It will show signal, but disconnect right after I dial. After multiple attempts at provisioning, and manual reprogramming, they determined that it was an antenna problem and that I should take it into a store to get it replaced.
I'm having the same issue before and after updating. Sounds like a tower upgrade issue Imo

I thought that I had fixed it through a profile and prl update, but yesterday afternoon I lost everything. Took it back to the sprint store and was told that the connection issues are because of people buying or switching to the new S5 causing provisioning issues. The only time my phone works is over wifi. It's going back today

Fux the s5. Fux Sprint for not running the numbers on making sure it's network doesn't crash. The network is a nightmare in Chicago.

Pretty sure the network crap is just an excuse .... Just hope they realize and update their crap . I'll be hanging on awhile longer it not I'm just gonna call up htc and get it replaced after the 14 days
I was having the same problem and it turned out to be my Air rave. Called Air Rave direct 866-556-7310 and they reset my system. Everything fine now. Seems my air rave was stuck trying to connect my old phone. Maybe it'll help someone.
So this has been on going for about a month now for me, my phone will eventually stop receiving picture MMS only. The way to resolve is to factory reset but after a few days it will go back to not receiving or being able to send. I have tried third party apps but get the same results. I ensure ever time that my phone is not on WiFi when this occurs but that shouldn't matter since it is suppose to default to the cell net for that stuff. I have tried setting up a new APN for verizon, still no go. It seems to be an on going issue from googling a little bit. Just didn't know if anyone here could shed some light on my situation. Thanks for the help and info.
I also can't send picture messages ever since KitKat update, but I'm using vs980 on T-Mobile

I have a problem using the Nexus 6 on my carrier, "Bluegrass Cellular" which is a regional cdma/lte carrier partnered with Verizon Wireless under their "LRA" (LTE in rural America) program. This issue happens with other carriers under the same agreement, and a few other carriers per Google search but I couldn't find any solutions. Issue doesn't seem to be ROM dependant either. If more carrier specific info is needed I can provide it.
Before a wonky work around mentioned next, this is the issue. Problem is if connected to LTE, everything works, calls in and out, mms in and out, and receiving sms. But you cannot send sms. If you are connected to LTE, when you send a sms it will fail with the message message, "cant send message (insert carrier name) error -1. But you could downgrade network to 3g and you can send fine. But back to LTE no sms.
Only fix/work around my friend found is to flash the android m preview radio. With that, sms sends, but it takes 30-45 seconds to send per text.
Does anyone have any ideas? Android m radio with delay is better than nothing, but it's still rather frustrating. Thanks in advance for any inputs.

I'm in the same boat here, tried multiple different things and no luck. Only fix is m radio that's takes up to 40 seconds to send which I feel is wasting precious battery life. Anybody have any idea?

Yeah it is. Hopefully someone has suggestions on how to fix it or have any info on what's making it hold up when it sends. No idea why it sends instantly on 3g, 40 seconds on LTE on m radio, but no sending at all on lte any lp radio. Would it be a radio problem maybe I'm not sure... With all the proper apns set (not that it should matter for sms) I don't know what else it could be.

Go to the info dialer menu (*#*#INFO#*#*). Go to the phone info. Scroll to the bottom and turn off SMS over IMS.
Done already doesn't change anything. Same delay on LTE

Hi, I've noticed recently that sometimes when I try to call a number, it does not call; instead the dialpad goes blank. This occurs especially trying to dial numbers from Google maps or from contacts. Does anyone know a solution to this?

I have an issue like that, but the dial pad doesn't go blank. the call just sits there in silence and never connects. I have to toggle Airplane mode to fix it.
I have a similar issue! WHen calling someone it says dialing for like 10 seconds. Sometimes i miss calls because when someone calls me it says the netwrk is busy or something like that,
Not sure why this is happening. The only "system" change I've made is installing themes.

Yes and unfortunately it is that the 3 or 4 of us have defective phones. We need new ones

Not sure that's the solution. The issue wasn't present since the day I bought the phone.

if i recall, i having this problem on galaxy s5 or note4 edge, cant remember.
when i make a call, i always turn off wifi, it fixed the problem for me.
Did you swap the SIM from your previous phone to this phone without activating the new one? I did this and had issues. I called AT&T, and they said my IMEI from my old phone was showing and not the new one. You might try giving them a call and make sure the IMEI showing on their side is that of your new phone.
I notice that this frequently occurs if I start a call while connected to Wifi and then walk/drive outside the Wifi range. Toggling Airplane mode always fixes it for me.

I have this exact issue and the airplane mode toggle fixes it. I would like to know what is going on , whether my device is defective or if there is a better fix.
Same issue (not connecting calls, not the screen blank issue)
