I put in CM 9 in my old tab 7 and loved the performance so much i wanted to start using it again.
Was using it wifi only.
Got a month of prepaid data from AT&T.
No problem with connection to network but there is no data connection.
Has anybody seen something like this when trying to re-establish service with carrier? or just with the symptom of solid connection to network with no data connection.
I thought it would be modem file so I will try some others, but I should have the right one in the build.
I will be getting a new SIM in case it an AT&T issue (ugh), but I need time to drop by store (ugh).
Did a complete reset. Clean install and the APN are right.
Mobile Network apps (Kabits) shows cell connected nornally, just no data.
Any thoughts??
thanks much
Post your apn here?

i used this device only for a few days in att and then moved to tmobile.
for those few att days and most time I've been to tmobile i get data fine.
but most of the time i really expect data, i see 3 or 4 bars and the 4g lte icon but i can't connect to anything. gmail emails never arrive. speed tests fail. etc.
at work this happen almost everyday. i can solve it by enabling airplane mode and then disabling it. i can see it connects to another tower.
but today it was weird. my wife note2 that should have crappy 4g on tmobile (it has att channels) was connecting fine. my motox had zero connection. but 3 bars.
i tried airplane mode trick. nothing. tried 2g nothing. tried 3g. data! i could see most sites on Firefox and run speed tests. but every google account sync failed (didn't test ssl sites, now that i think of it)... i think that i should blame on whatever tmo was using on the 3g tower for it's data connection... but anyway, why should the motox have worse 4g/data connectivity on tmo than a note2 made for att?
i do have xposed now (without touching any radio setting) but i saw this behavior days ago before i had it. Always writing it off as some bad tower location.
but now it's obvious the radio on this phone is bogus.
anyone have the same experience? anything i can do to improve/debug this?

more investigation on this...
the network tower selection is still crappy. and i guess it's phone software fault... happens on other phones with Qualcomm chips on tmobile at same region.
but found more info on the gapps not syncing. i had disabled mobile network background sync for play store (i don't really need the playstore at all) and that also disabled background data for gmail.
note that the only thing i disabled was the play app. not a single other service or app. nothing else.

Apparently I had to wipe my data partition after installing xposed and/or gravity box.
... My first account logged to Google services fine, but my second one never got background data correctly.
After I wiped my data partition all come back to normal. But that apparently also removes xposed.
Anyone using 2 Google accounts with that set up?

For a few days I was getting 4G (but not LTE) when using my unlocked and rooted T-Mobile Note 4 with AT&T. But now the only data connection I am getting is Edge. Ugh.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Nope - did you double check your APN settings?

APN Settings are correct. But I figured out the problem while verifying that!
Settings > More networks > Mobile networks > Network mode was set to "GSM only" I changed it to "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" and everything (including LTE) is working fine now.
Dunno how that setting got changed but I'm glad I found it and got it fixed. Hopefully this can help someone with a similar problem.
Having difficulty sending pictures and group texts. Status bar shows LTE active and I have plenty of data.
I used to be able to send pics even with Wi-Fi on, it just handed it over to cellular data. Now, it won't. With Wi-Fi off and data active, it fails to send immediately. I've checked all my settings and can't find a problem.
I'm running stock 6.0, rooted on a xt1095.
Ok, can you think of anything that changed between being able to send and the issues you have now (eg rooting)? Have you checked and re-inputted the APN settings? In dev options you can choose aggressive handover, is that selected or not? Have you cleared cache? Have you reset the phone?

I did change the aggressive handover in dev options, but only to try and solve the problem.
I can't think of anything that changed leading up to the issue.
Has anyone had any problems with using the International Version with TMobile? Did you have any issues? Wifi Calling and whatnot?

I only just made the switch today and I've been using it like the last 5-6 hours, so I can't really attest to signal strength away from home. That being said, my data speeds on LTE are consistent with what I had on the T-Mobile firmware (here at home), and WiFi calling may actually be working better now (not joking here, but again, very early here). VOLTE is working as it should as well. Call waiting is broken on T-Mobile, no matter what firmware you have... So this issue persists and it's known on the OnePlus Community forums.
I should also mention there is no quick setting to turn WiFi calling off (nor anything in the regular settings menu). Seems the only way to turn WiFi calling off would be to turn off WiFi, or use the log kit app (dialer code) to get into engineering settings.
Everything seems really good for me so far. I'll update in a day or so. When I go to work, my LTE download speeds break 100mbps... Let's see if that continues with the international firmware.

May I ask, where in the settings is that? I've done what I thought was a very thorough search, in the settings app and within the dialer app. Maybe I'm an idiot.
Edit: I finally found the WiFi calling settings in the dialer app. Still no quick setting tile for me however.

So I assume the qs tile isnt there after updating to international?
The native messaging app does not show the contact names.

I'm about to switch back to the international version as soon as I make a backup and copy it to my laptop. I don't remember if there was a quick setting tike for it or not. I don't use wifi calling so I didn't pay a lot of attention to see if there was a quick setting tile.

Ah, you may need to revert back to the TMO for it

It's under Wi-Fi & Internet then select SIM & network settings then select SIM 1 and you will see it under enhanced communications

The international firmware does have *working* WiFi calling w/ T-Mobile, though the setting is kinda of hidden within the dialer app's settings menu (3 for button up at the top right, see screenshots). This is also where the VOLTE setting is found. Took me a while to find because there's like two different "SIM" settings menu, and I thought they were the same thing.
There is, however, NO quick settings tile. Perhaps an app like System UI Tuner or something similar could resolve that though.
