Use one click root. You have to create an account and it cist around $30, but the at&t s5 is very tricky. They will do it for you by remote access to your computer. Youll need an internet connection on your computer.

I just got my s5 and it came with g900aucu4bof2.
I bought it because I knew the phone could be rooted because I have had it before. But now all I'm reading is since this update came OTA, that they cannot root it anymore and I'm like bummmmmed out
What I'm wondering is if there might be a way to revert the phone back to an earlier version somehow, or is this maybe only something Samsung can do?

I've been on XDA for three-four years now. Honestly many things are very undocumented. Ie around bootloader and stuff. DO NOT attempt to flash it. I am a flash/dev experienced person and have bricked two GS3s in one day doing this. Stay the **** away from bootloader evne if your phone is rooted. Stick to flashing Roms/Gapps/modem NEVER bootloader.
I returned my upgrade to ATT and found something on craiglist. You have to shp around though to just get the build no and spend some time on weekends going out to chec the phone yourself. Most plebs cant find it if you asked for it
Good luck man. And as already stated, yeah no one wrote this clearly before I decided to spend the time to order this phone online. Idiotic. Samsung ruined a lot of their brand locking it with knox
Look at the HTC 8/9/Nexus (comes unlocked still rootable, no external memory/battery though), Zenfone2 (only reason I didn't get this was lack of battery info, otherwise I would have jumped at it).

Hey everyone,
I have the t-mobile G1 and was wondering if there was something i could do to it, so that when i turned it on it looked like it was a sim free one and it loaded saying HTC Dream and not t-mobile G1.
Thanks alot
James
if u root u jus have to change ur splash image , thru adb ,unless theres an easier way ,adb scares me
If you find an unbranded splash, please let me know. I asked about one a few weeks ago & got no reply.
Couldn't some one just pull there splash from a rooted Non-Tmo phone, through adb?

Most other providers also include a splash screen. So it's got to be someone with the HTC splash. I have seen them for Magic, but never for Dream. If we don't find one soon I guess I'll just edit the one from Magic, but it would be nice to have an original. Anybody know which market (if any) sells them unbranded?

Not nearly as much as the thought of pecking away at that tiny keyboard & small screen for hours.
I didn't think HTC sold the phone as 'HTC Dream', maybe you mean ADP1?
The ADP1 splash image can be found in this thread. It needs to be flashed via fastboot, so you will need HardSPL or 1.33.2005
Thanks for the link to the ADP splash.
They have sold it as Dream in several places however. I'm pretty sure most carriers other than T-Mobile (w/ the exception of ones sold by google) sell it as Dream.
They even have a separate product page for it.
G1
http://www.htc.com/www/product/g1/overview.html
Dream
http://www.htc.com/www/product/dream/overview.html
Unfortunately, they probably all have a carrier specific splash. Guess it's time to make one
Oh I see...
Oh well, might aswell just make your own...

I just asked a question about this on a different android website, but I haven't gotten an answer. I bought my t-mobile g1 off of ebay, i also only have prepaid tmobile togo. The weird thing is that when i turned the phone on the first time I used it. it didn't ask me to log in to a google account or anything. I was able to use wifi to set up my gmail account. anyways the question i had asked was that when my phone boots up it has the 'htc dream' logo instead of the tmobile g1. And I was wondering if that meant my phone was rooted or not. It also says htc dream under my settings, phone model number.
Just this morning I broke my nexus's screen. After I was finished crying about it I called up HTC and they said they would replace the screen for a price or I could send it back, they would need a credit card on file, but they would replace it for free since its still under warranty. My problem is, my bootloader is unlocked and I'm rooted. I told them on the phone that I would think about it and call them back, got a case number and all that. I didn't want to tell them about my bootloader because I thought they would write it down and hold it against me. My question is, if I send it back to them and they see the bootloader is unlocked will they charge me for another phone instead of replacing it for free since I voided the warranty by rooting it? Or is my hardware warranty still valid? Also would it be risking it sending it back with an unlocked bootloader for an exchange? or should I just get the screen replaced?
Thanks!
Btw this is how the horrible accident looks

Have you ever tried the search button? This has been discussed SOOOOO many times already. I personally have had 2 phones swapped out with HTC, both with unlocked bootloaders. I received replacement phones with no charge to my card.
I used the search button, but none of the topics answered my question directly, most of them just talk about having a 3rd party replace there screen or their screen had dust and HTC replaced it due to a hardware defect by them. I even asked the guys at android central, they never gave me a clear answer. Thanks for you're answer tho, I was looking for someone with a personal experience of swaps
oh my god that poor nexus!! *cries*
anyways what he means is that HTC has been known to look past the bootloader and replace it for free if youre still under warranty. its like they dont really care we are doing what we are doing

lol no problem. most times they look past that. hopefully they will for u too
be prepared to pay for the screen... cracked screens are not covered under warranty bootloader locked or otherwise..
I can't say why, but I have access (legit!...office dealer)to samsungs GSPN site that has drivers, manuals firmware to everything samsung makes.
If you can tell me which "version" of the note we have, I can poke around for firmware/driver etc.
I see versions like this...
GT-N7000ZBAABS
GT-N7000ZBAAFG
GT-N7000ZBAAFR
GT-N7000ZBAALO
GT-N7000ZBAAMN
GT-N7000ZBAATL
GT-N7000ZBAATO
GT-N7000ZBAAUT
GT-N7000ZBABGL
GT-N7000ZBABRI
I have no clue which one to look for. I know my phone is a "DST" german
phone, but I couldn't find a match with zbadst, or just dst.
If you have a clue, or think my poking around might find something useful, just let me know.
as far as I know, GT-N7000ZBADBT would be the German Note, but I think any driver you can share would help the community ;-)
Looks like I have access to drivers, manuals, firmware, so if you need one, just ask, I'll look around and see what I can find.
download everything bro... before you lose access
I second that. START DOWNLOADING!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Sounds too perfect to be true.. But anyway: If you got access to the source code of the drivers, you'll be the hero of the Note Development Community
So. Anything yet? Or was this just a bunch of bull****?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
The files show they are there, but when I click it, I don't get a listing of the files like I do for the office equipment when I'm looking for firmware for it.
Not sure if I'm locked out, or if these are just place holders.
Here is a screen shot from just a few minutes ago.
I can download the manuals, but I haven't been able to snag any modems, drivers or anything else...yet. Clicking on some of these models (22 pages worth) shows newer file dates. Some as recent as last week.

Tried to include as much as possible in title, because I am just so confuzzeled pouring through threads but I do not have the -49 or -48 as so many say so I am highly confused n what exactly I need to do to get root(6.0/7.0) on my droid turbo
What I think I've figured out so far, I'll need to buy another $20+ thing (Here's looking at you Mofosunshine), will need to download a some images and the usual goodies from TheSt33v thread('s), but will all of this work on the -38?
I never take OTA, OTA = the bad touch. (the kind you try and forget happened in scouts when you went on the camping trip alone with your scout master and you learned sleeping bags aren't meant for two people.)
And if by some small chance this exact question has been asked again I humbly apologize and will promptly fall upon my sword for surely I have dishonored my family by asking it again.

Yes.
Letting everyone know, I just received my unlock token for my MetroPCS-branded Nord n100. Works like... well, like it should have all along.
Last I'd heard, T-Mobile was granting them for their own Nords, but not Metro's. Made no sense because TMO owns Metro. MetroPCS by T-Mobile. Right there in the name. Dumb.
Anyway, that's now changed. I waited the 180 days to SIM unlock, never had a MetroPCS account, grabbed an unlock code via fastboot, and then I signed up for a token here through T-Mobile: https://www.oneplus.com/unlock_token?type=2

Took less than a week.
O joyous day.
Good luck, noob.
Yooo I just finally got my token and bootloader unlocked as well...i been tweaking on this phone for months now. so long i forgot what i actually wanted to do lol....but yea i guess the next step is to root this b*$h. Im working with a 11.0.3.BE82CF BE2015 on metro. My phone was kinda weird tho cuz i was allowed to toggle the oem switch it wasnt greyed out,and the network unlock too before the 180 days. but oem wasnt REALLY unlocked just the carrier was. and being that metro is my preferred service it was kinda useless. But yea if anybody help working on something for this model im all in to try w.e....lets get it!
