Unable to update S5 4.4.2 to Lollipop - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hey guys,
Newbie here I have flashed a couple of previous devices but never a samsung until now.
It the S5 AT&T version.
I followed the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-update-to-g900aoca-5-0-keeproot-t3076803
But keep getting the error:
e: footer is wrong
e: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
And the ROM doesn't load.
Please advice. The device is rooted.

If you are already rooted use flash fire application and flash it ..i also use that instruction to update my g900a model to 5.0 ..

It's because you got the phone from videotron of vodafone. I can tell because of your build number it means that you can't update because your are on a carrier tweaked ROM for instructions on how to get back to stock see wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nexus_One/Guides_%26_Tutorials#Unroot_.2F_Restore_your_Nexus after you follow this tutorial you will be on frg33 then you can update what ever your want from there.
Thanks so much. I shall try that and let you know if it worked or not. Thanks so much for the info.

Hey, i used the PASSIMG method and it worked, thanks, i am now running gingerbread and in the process of rooting it.. thanks

Thank you both for this thread. I bought a Nexus One off of eBay recently and it must have come from the same batch. I had the same build number and could not update manually or otherwise.
Minutes after I installed the stock firmware, the phone was automatically updating to 2.3.4.
I am a happy camper now.

It appears you tried to flash a pre-4.4.2 SBF to your phone... It is stated multiple places throughout the forum that you can NOT downgrade to any version prior to 4.4.2 once on 4.4.2
You say you flashed the 'original firmware' - I take that to mean you flashed a 4.2.2 or 4.4 SBF?
You should -try- to SBF back to stock by following the manual method in the Return to Stock thead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515
Use the 4.4.2 SBF for your carrier/model. As long as you can use fastboot, we can -probably- get you fixed up.
If you can't get that to work, you may try your luck at the methods listed in the "Resurrecting a Bricked Moto X" Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/how-to-resurrecting-bricked-moto-x-t2629057

If you have Safestrap http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572978 installed you can just do, OC1 Stock Rooted Very Easy Procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59666958&postcount=2. Just trying to do the updates will fail because it's rooted. If you don't have Safestrap installed, then you will need Busybox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en installed, if you didn't install it already.
Thanks for the links and info. Whenever I try to flash the file "SM-900A_OC1_Lollipop_Rooted_Rom.zip" from the URL given, safestrap gives me an error after extracting the data. I'm getting " some changes failed" E: executing updater binary in zip". I activated the rom slot1, then wiped cache/davlik a few times, then tried to install the OC1 Rooted zip file. Any suggestions what I'm overlooking?

Unlocked XT1092 German version now unable to do OTA

I've a XT 1092 bought in Germany, now it is:
Andriod version: 5.0
System version: 22.21.19.victara_retde.retdeall.en.DE.retde
Build number: LXE22.46-19
What I've done on it:
1, Unlock,Root
2, Being unable to do OTA, download a German version of 5.0, recovery to this 5.0 through fastboot
Now there is always system update notification on the cell phone, so I download it automatically and try to update it.
Then the little robot appears and updating process starts.
But it failed every time, after power on the phone, it just says no change was made.
I enter the fastboot mode on phone through volume down and power button, and it says:
Device is unlocked. status code: 3
Software status: modified.
How could I successfully do an OTA?
Why it still says modified even after I recovered the phone to a stock version 5.0?
Many thanks, and wish you all a Merry Christmas!

To successfully do OTA, your system must fully unmodified, this including no custom recovery, unrooted, stock boot logo, etc. So, if your system only rooted, you have to unroot first. Or the easiest way, just flash the stock system and recovery image, then perform OTA.

thanks for your replay.
my x2 is now on a German version 5.0, and unlocked.
i think it is unrooted, but truth be told the last step I had taken before running into this OTA issue was returning the rooted phone to 5.0 by fastboot.
so now I'm even not sure weather it is rooted or not.
I've tried the steps regarding below method with stock ROM, hoping it can return to stock status and be ok to do OTA.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-return-to-stock-official-status-t3274121
Question: is this what you've suggested "flash the stock system and recovery image"?
but when i access the bootloader, it stays the same as before, and says:
device is unlocked. status code: 3
software status: modified.
then I put the zip stock ROM into phone, and tried to do OTA on phone both with original name and modified name(update.zip)
But after selecting the ROM in recovery, it says:
qe 1/1
--install/data/media/0/update.zip...
finding update package..
opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed

all the thing i want is being able to to OTA, I have searched some threads both on domestic forum in China and on XDA
but no one works.
thanks in advance.

Why would you want to do an OTA?
Just grab the newest ROM and flash it.
I've seen a 6.0 XT1092 ROM somewhere on these forums.

Did you flashed 5.1 or 5.1 based custom rom previously like cm12. 1?
I'm facing the same problem. Did you get any solution?

Unable to Receive OTA for Marshmallow due to signature-mismatch

1. I don't understand the reference to victata:4.4.4 as I'm running Android 5.1 right now.
2. I can't find a recovery image for T-Mobile for the XT1095 to return to factory image.
3. I presume the Blur_Version above -is- the OTA image but I cannot force it to apply
(and probably shouldn't)
4. Motorola isn't making factory images available for non-developer models.
I'd be happy to wipe it and return to factory image, but cannot find a way to get there
without downloading the factory images from stashed places I cannot seem to find.
Any advice?
You must have stock recovery and stock system to apply the ota
What system version are you at right now?
If you have root and recovery, just flash the stock xt1095 6.0 rom from the android developmemt forum...
Factory reset, install zip and that's it..
As mentioned above, you can't take ota in your situation.

Doesn't sound hard, except for the part about -finding- a stock xt1095 6.0 rom.
I'm looking though but not finding the correct version of stock rom. A lot of
1096 and many in non-english variants. Pointers appreciated if you have time.

Flash this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/rom-xt1095-flashable-stock-rom-t3277874
And after that root your phone with that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/root-root-moto-x-2014-android-t3249105
Download supersu 2.52 and the attachment for xt1095.
Just for comparison, antutu benchmark on stock 5.1 verizon's gave 36000~ and now on stock 6.0 xt1095 (which is really close to clean aosp) gave 55000~
Have fun
