Can you verify the seal? Check if it isn't about double sealing.
In my case, N920i bought from Singapore (eBay seller), the seal was carefully applied over the another Samsung seal, both identical in shape, writing, letters etc. The box looked as of it was never opened, but the Note had been used before (I found some unknown wifi networks saved, but not a Google account).
I suppose it isn't a big deal nowadays to procure a fake seal, especially when you are selling products on the Internet. Sad stories for such expensive products.

Yep, agree with the mod, one of the things that makes the xda so successful is the ORDER.
Back to the topic, if you don't mind paying extra dollars, go Amazon. They have the top-notch customer service, which took care of my return of previous unsuccessful purchase of mobile phones and a lot of other stuff. Specifically, this seller called "global mobile" is my recommendation.
I had the same question as you did, because I wanted the phone to come completely sealed in the box, and from Europe. So I tried my luck: I bought one for my buddy, not from global mobiles, and the packaging was partially crap, as it's obviously been opened and looks like it came from Latin America. Then I bought a white one for my girlfriend, from global mobile, and it was well packaged and factory sealed, which was the most important thing to me. Also, it came from Germany, so OTA upgrades are good.
At the time, this seller only had white version, so I talked to them thru email, and was informed that their next batch of black (or dark blue actually) would come at xxxx date. I waited and ordered, and it came in yesterday. Right, it's the same kind of goodie my girlfriend got. So I would definitely recommend this seller with my own experience. They said they are some kind of verified importer and they are headquartered in Germany, so their shipments only get rare and random inspection by custom, which is why most of their phones come factory sealed. I'm not sure if any seller mentioned above provide this kind of service/product, but at least I know this seller does.
Be noted though, since it's sealed and comes from Europe, the charger is obviously different, but they do provide a plug converter in the "outer" packaging, and included a nice note about selecting the right language (English) because the first thing you'll see when you turn on the phone is in German, which I liked :thumb up: Also, you can buy OEM samsung charger U.S. version cheap from Amazon.
Hope this helps, and nope, I'm not in any way affiliated with this seller, so don't take my complimentary as some sort of advertising.
How is the quality of convert they gave you? Normally I don't like a converter, it make the charger urgely. Do you have a link for they store?
Sure, here it is. Honestly, converter that it came with is ugly, but I also had no intent to use it at all.
I simply bought two of these to use at home (i like to reach a charger of my device easily w/o carrying them around)
I just thought the included converter could at least show that they were a thoughtful seller. Oh well, meticulous Germans as we knew it

just what I thought, very advise that if a retail box is damaged they will supply in a brown paper box which is not good enough
ive spoken to Samsung who advise me to return the item which im going to do

Hmmmm, at the very least include the box in the package, with a note, stating we think it's just superficial damage but if you find a fault send it back.

my thoughts exactly !
I had several stories from very saying 1. if it is a damaged box we replace the box to 2. this is the way Samsung supply them !
funny cos Samsung say nope they come in a retail box
They then tried the oh you cant return cos you turned it on .. erm distance selling regs I took care and only looked at the item to make sure it was ok (before deciding it wasn't suitable therefore returned back as new) also I needed to get the serial for Samsung before they would speak to me and couldn't see it on the camera cos it was tiny
After some discussions, pictures took of the said item for evidence and returned back to very for a full refund
off to john lewis tomorrow to get a proper boxed camera
Sammy even replied back to me on facebook advising to return it back to very
very naughty if you ask me !
Just picked my camera up from John Lewis oh guess what is in q Samsung box . Think my very account is going to be closed

Really? Wonder why, I only heard about their good warranty service because of a bloke across the road has just bought a Nexus 7, he was gonna get it direct from Google but, because it was the same price from JL, he got from there simply because of the extra warranty they throw in.

The girl I spoke to today wasnt sure why it didn't have 2yr but the other question is why has sammy only given 12 months all their other products have 2yrs
I thought £47 for 3 years peace of mind through john lewis is reasonable though

[Q] Got a new AT&T Note 3 but wasn't in the Samsung box

Hello,
I just got a new Note 3 from the AT&T store and when they brought it out I asked them why it wasn't in the typical Samsung packaging. It was in an AT&T packaging box. Everything was sealed up, etc.
I asked why and they said it was brand new phone but that Samsung doesn't always send the phones in the same packaging.
Seemed pretty strange to me and am worried I got some kind of refurb phone.
Has anyone else seen this before?

And stole our awesome wooden box. Getting a cool box is part of the experience. A plain white and orange one covered in at&t's logo does not cause much excitement.
But then again, as much crap as at&t put on this phone, at least the box makes it obvious who sent the thing.

The box was wooden? Thats cool. Why would they do that? Next thing you know they will take our charger along with the headphones.
AT&T has been repackaging phones for about 5 years now. My Galaxy S II came in that stupid ugly orange and white box.
It's such a shame AT&T has to rape the packaging. When I got my Note III in store, I took the cable, charger, books and told the girl to burn that stupid ugly box and told the manager of the store to kick it up the chain that they need to stop ****ing with the packaging. Not in those words of course.

Just my opinion, but who REALLY cares about the box? Do you have some sort of trophy wall with all the boxes for your phones? (Or is this just something else to complain about?)
BTW, I suspect they tell Samsung at the factory to keep the box and put them in the replacement. With the number that they order it has to cut down on cost a little and shipping weight as well. You don't honestly think they have people at the warehouse unboxing all those phones and then putting them into the generic boxes (and labeling them with all the correct imei info), do you?
But again, this is my personal opinion. I choose to save the outrage for something that truly matters like why I can't find a decent case that properly fits over my wireless charging back? And can I get the back cover in purple?!?

I think its absolutely ridiculous a corporation as large as AT&T eliminates the Samsung box and samsung earphones. I do not see how this would cost them more money to include the headphones. T-Mobile and Sprint include the earphones and original box. Go figure.
I don't really care about the box all that much, but not getting the headphones is pretty crappy of AT&T. I ordered an S4 for my wife at the same time as my Note 3 and hers came in the Samsung box with brand new headphones. It makes no sense that AT&T decided my Note 3 should not get headphones, while the S4 does.

T-Mobile Retail Note 4 Retail Box Printed in USA

I purchased a Note 4 from T-Mobile's website. The back of the sleeve states Printed in USA. And the box states Printed in the USA. Box Made in Mexico. Also, the Android logo on the back of the box looks different from the box made in Vietnam. According to the package, the phone was packaged / manufactured 12/12/2014.
Somethings not ringing here. From all the unboxing videos of the T-Mobile Note 4 I came across online and in-store, they all state Printed in Vietnam on the back of the box.
Is this a repackaged Note 4?
Would greatly appreciate clarification here. Thanks

That app will show you usage history. If its repackaged used phone you probably will find that headphones or battery charger were attached more than once.

Actual Manufacturing Date is set to December 9th, 2014. I noticed the Charger Connect count is '3' and Headset Connect Counter is '6'. But I never plugged in the charger yet; I just got the phone. What gives?
Also, I have the latest firmware preinstalled. I didn't have to perform any updates out of the box.
Now seriously, what gives, the count is more than '1'. What is this suppose to indicate. This is a legality issue. How is it that no one has addressed this yet.
Whats also funny is that the plastics that conceal the condition of the phone; only one side of the phone is covered in plastic, all other three sides are not and were exposed upon opening the seals of the box. I found a couple of micro-scratches in the bottom part of the metallic edges
Had a quality chat with Samsung just now. It appears the counter is set by the quality control checks at the manufacturing facility.
The ultimate question now is do the carriers have software to over-ride the build-date of a device?
Does the phone work well? Are you happy with the performance and style and so on? If the answer is yes, then why are you worried about it? IMHO you must have bigger fish to fry. Besides; if your here, you most likely mod your phone so a warranty is irrelevant.
I know you wouldn't try and return your phone and hide that you have been modifying it. I mean based on your reaction to t-mo, I doubt you would do that to them.
Oh and mine was printed in Vietnam.
I bet this is a refurbished phone.
Flashed all nicely at a T-Mobile warehouse and sent out to the stores would be my guess.
Did Samsung verify it's authenticity for you?
Doesn't matter it's still a note 4
Samsung does verify its authenticity on its own website. Showing December 11, 2014 (after inputting IMEI #)
Box label shows December 12, 2014
Phone Info * SAMSUNG Shows December 9th, 2014
Samsung explained me the logistics last night. Carriers certain quantity of phones from Samsung to meet demands--> Carrier receive phone orders in bulk, all in one box--> and repackages them into their own Carrier Boxes. Take AT&T for example, the worst of them all. Whereas T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon play along by copying the design of the original Samsung boxes and uses cheap labor to print the boxes at the country of manufacture of their ordered devices. Who knows, your devices may very well be treated the same as well.
But the question remains, DO THE CARRIERS HAVE THE ABILITY TO OVERRIDE THE MANUFACTURING DATES ON THE PHONES? IF DO, THIS IS UNETHICAL.
T-Mobile most likely signed cheap labor in Vietnam to print on empty light brown boxes and had them shipped to the states for repackaging the phones. After a certain quantity, decided it would be best to print them within the states to save on logistical import fees, fair enough.
I myself have seen the white and blue boxes that Samsung was referring to. I've seen them in Service Centers overseas in Asia.
But Carriers are just plainly insane.

The reason I make a big deal about this is really because of the amount we all pay. We all are paying a premium for these devices (for the most part) and deserve the right thing. Otherwise, I'd be more than happy to pay $200max for the device I received, not the whooping $750 (oh and the taxes are extra well).
Dude you have a phone that works. That is all you need. You rooted the phone isn't that unethical . Just be happy it works for you and you have no major issues with it.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
But I haven't rooted the phone yet. And besides, it is our right to do whatever we want with the devices, as long as we don't brick it.
I mean, how many customers are even aware of the Diagnostic Code *#0*# to check their devices for defects upon receiving the device; Verizon disables this command, which is insane.
Reality Check, you don't get what you pay for.
A Samsung rep once told me, "I'm not the average consumer" Uh-Oh

And it is their right to do what they will with the phones. You not buying from Samsung you buying from t mobile who needs to add stuff to phone and sim cards and all. Your phone works be happy .
Yes it is your phone once it paid in full. If you did payments it not yours till us pay that last bill.
So either way it is a working device free of issues and bugs.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
Maybe you have latest batch of the phones and from now they all will look like that. Mine Note's hardware revision is 1.1. Your's may have higher number and you are lucky owner of latest and greatest.
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
Mine has the same hardware revision as well, but doesn't have much of the issues others have reported, such as the fingerprint scanner and camera focus issues. The only issue is the purple tint on the left side of the display and a couple of microscratches on the metal edges (probably the way it way handled during the handling process at the warehouse); I didn't see all four sides covered in plastic wrap.

I would like to see what others think of this as well. I've had a worse experience with the AT&T Note 4.
It would be interesting to get John Legere's response to this matter as well. This is not a uncarrier move.
For the price I paid for the device, I can get a one way flight and get what I pay for just right.

Case in box

Ive seen a lot of unboxing videos and most were international models that all came with a case, so I just want to know if the USA model will come with a case included?
From what I've heard just international has case included ,

Can someone confirm that the international/Europe s10 will have a case in the box. Have seen it as well in some unboxing vids. But have not found any confirmation on the retail box shipping since yesterday.
Will get mine hopefully next week. Eager to know if i have to spend more time searching for a case like crazy to have my investment safe at least in the beginning.
Haven't dropped a phone in a long time but I know I will first day with a new phone especially without a case.

I did not get a case with mine. You should check the retailers page about what is included in the box. At least here in Finland they specify what is included in the box and a case is not on the list.

I ordered on the German Samsung website, so their own online shop. The order in the online shop says it's in preparation but I already received the phone on 6th of March, so before the launch. The buds are mentioned on the order but no info about status.
I've got my phone within a contract with Vodafone Germany.
The ear buds need to be ordered in the Samsung Members app, there you have to register your device including a scan / copy of the invoice.
In my box there wasn't a case and I really don't know why manufacturers are packing different boxes for each country. It's not Samsung only, Huawei does the same and it's kinda annoying that they do this.
I'm often on international English speaking tech sites where they post stuff like "there's a case in the box" or "the S10 will have the SD855" and when it comes to the release here in Germany all hopes and expectations are getting blown away.
I'm glad that Samsung put a screen protector on the phone even for Germany.

So just got it few hours ago. Surprisingly the dual sim variant. But that's OK
But no case in the box. Ordered from amazon.de sent to Austria.
Sadly almost none of the good cases sold on Amazon will ship to Austria.
Does anyone know any good site to buy cases?
