I google "Root Sony Xperia z4" and this came up - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
So I googled "Root Sony Xperia Z4" and one click root came up for Sony Xperia z4. Is this just a scam or new? given the fact that a lot of people are waiting for a root for this phone. The page seems legit and professional, but just FYI for people who know mores about root.
https://www.androidroot.us.com/how-to-root-sony-xperia-z4/

i doubt this gonna work. is fishy to subscribe premium service & i suspect in the end need to unlock bootloader.

They can even "root" a device not even exist yet (at least not publicly). So I don't think it will work.

[Q] Returning my Xperia TL, Suggestions on what to get? (AT&T)

I have the Xperia TL lt30at, I LOVE it . Sadly though, it cannot be rooted because bootloader unlock allowed is set to no:crying:. I was given 2 weeks to try this phone out which will be up this friday and I would like to get a phone that can be rooted and is on par or better than the TL. I also have this thing called "trade up" which allows me to trade in my phone for 75% (300$) of its value (400$) credit towards a new phone at any time. So I can trade in for the Z if/when it comes out for AT&T if/when it comes out in the US. What on AT&T market right now for 400$-500$ should I grab? I'm new to Android from iOS and jailbreaking and the TL is my first android and I have loved it. So XDA, please help me out a bit and toss your opinions around. I will give thanks to all who give informative :good: and helpful replies and none to those just being dicks .
Thanks guys.

Samsung SIII? Similar feature-wise, but slightly bigger. Has LTE and is available through At&t, and also apparently has a big dev community for AOSP, but if you purchase from at&t, it may be a special version in which the bootloader has been locked down. I guess you'd have to do some sleuthing in regards to that. You could always just return your TL to at&t and get an unlocked SIII from a third party; that way you'd know that you'd be able to unlock it...
Thanks for the reply

I considered the SIII but the colors are a bit too saturated and the price tag was just a bit too high for me. Thanks for the response though.
LT30at can be rooted just not bootloader unlocked. Z will not be available on at&t.

That's the root method to use but you have to install the backup and restore app manually before you do it since at&t removed it from their firmware.

If you really want to switch, I'd say go for an HTC One VX/X possibly the white X. The sounds are much better and the phone feels just sexy in your hand! But you will have a mainstream 8MP camera (if you are concerned about it). I will not recommend Pantech as they are relatively new in the high end smartphone business AFAIK. Buying an Ion will actually be kind of a downgrade from the T. LG is not too durable and the Samsung devices that you have mentioned here seem to be a little outdated. AFAIK.
Thanks for the input man. I like the HTC but the screens seem a bit off colored in pictures compared to the bravia screens. What do you think?
I can't find how to install it manually. Any guides you could direct me to? Sorry in advance if it's staring me in the face and I'm blind.

Download the apk for backup and restore. (it's in the link I posted above) Enable unknown sources in your android settings and when you open the apk it will offset you the option to install.

I figured it out with a little more help from a buddy. Thanks so much for all the help and patience. Any suggestions on what to do with a rooted phone? I have lucky patcher for my pandora. What other cool/fun stuff do you suggest? I may just hang in to my TL and trade up when the Z hits at&t. Not sure though

I mainly rooted to remove the bloatware AT&T apps ( but now I use the LT30p firmware so no bloatware from AT&T). Z will not be available through AT&T, would have to get it unlocked instead.

[Q] sim unlock possibility ?

well my question is , do you know if it's in the work?
do you think it will be possible in the near future to desimlock the Xperia Z?
did someone managed to have a code via an online site ?
and how much it cost you if so...
thanks!
I would like to know to, mine is turning up tomorrow on EE (UK). I have seen loads of sites offering it around $40 for the code but i would like a trusted site which people have tried/tested
so...I guess it's not possible judging by the lack of answers...

If you mean the Xperia Z instead of the "XZ" which was posted above, then it is of course possible. However, I'm slightly unsure which phone you are referring to?

Xperia Z1S?

So I'm looking to probably come back into the Android world, I was checking out the Z1S on T Mobile and then I find out the bootloader is locked.
Is that still accurate or has something been figured out?

Bootloader is locked and that isn't too likely to be fixed soon. It also doesn't have root access, which is even worse. Devs are working on this but haven't had much luck yet as far as I know.

Yep, Z1S is very restricted.

Call Recording without Root

Hey guys,
Long time lurker here, finally decided to make an account to both ask this question and because I figured it was a good time to get involved with the community, now that I'm switching from a Nexus 5 to the Z3 Compact. The Z3C is arguably the best phone on the market right now, but some of the decisions sony makes (ie. the bloatware) means that the community will definitely need to step up if we want this phone to truly be the best on the market.
So here's my question. On my rooted N5, it was extremely easy to record all of my phone calls. Because of the DRM key issue with unlocking the bootloader on the Z3C, I am hesitant to root, so I am looking for a way to record my phone calls without root. Does anyone know of any apps that get the job done on the Z3C without root?
My model No. is the British D5803.
Thanks,
Matt

Can you direct me to somewhere that explains how to use it without root? I searched and everywhere I looked that instructions says to flash it using recovery with root.
I use Callrecorder by Skvalex.

A bit sad to see the dev for xp

Hi all
I can see that not much is going on here on this forum with the Xperia x performance.
Custom Rom etc is not existing and not much activity on the forums. Not compared to galaxy s7 anyways.
Sony has never made better phones than now, and the arc, s, z etc had a lot of activity.
It is a shame.

There won't be anytime soon either, but a way to back up the ta keys on all the x range would be great. Currently the only thing stopping me unlocking & rooting my xa. made the mistake of loosing ta keys before won't do it again.

Do you actually think the X line is better than the Z line? Seriously?
It is a shame.

The shame is the loss of DRM keys and all the rest.
What rest? Well, on Z3 and Z3c we can't even use an AOSP rom without big issues on the camera (the fish-eye bug), therefore for us a real development has really never started in 2 years (2 years my friend!!!!)
We were a lot of people, everybody is escaping now... :crying:

I actually think the X performance is a nice phone, ofcoz the X is actually downgrade from Z5...
It's ok as far as they keep a flagship upgraded and better than before. The new design looks excellent and for me is better than the boring Z series look, actually even better than the new xz.
Btw, for the reason they sell the standard X so hard, more than the X perf is that they dont want people to get X Perf coz it's too good, too good that u wont need to upgrade for a long time. Sony wants u to upgrade after a year, not 2 or 3 years like the over power Z series LOL. And ofcoz personally I'd recommend Z5 more than the standard X, but X perf is excellent to me
I'm liking my x performance replaced my Z3 which I still have its a great device with tons of Power we just need to find a way to bypass or fake dm-verity to get root on lb

Is "AndroPlus Kernel v7" did the work here (fake DRM /hide DRM security measure)? but this time with UB.
And as i know the difference between the LB and the UB is the lack of the DRM, but if the problem solved here with this kernel so it considered as a partial resolution until find another way to root with LB.
Correct me if i was wrong
Thanks
Envoyé de mon Xperia x performance
Problem is some carriers lock the bl and you can't unlock cause unlock bootloader says no and no way to change it to yes on carrier locked ones. Ive talked to Sony and Rogers and neither are interested in helping change status to yes. Sony says talk to carrier and carrier says talk to Sony just a vicious circle has to be a way to change status
