Does The Z3+ Have The Self-Cracking Issue? - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does the Z3+ have the self-cracking issue?
The Z3 and Z3 compact had thousands of complaints on self-cracking screens all over the internet. I was wondering if anyone with the Z3+ has experienced anything similar considering the new phone overheats as well.

I haven't heard of anyone having it. Of course, it hasn't been out for that long so who knows.

It's been a few months. Has anyone managed to crack theirs?

Been thinking about it too. Hopefully it doesn't have this issue but let's just be very careful not to have this happened.?

My z1 crack itself

Can't say if the self cracking issue is there or not, but my Z3+ was suffering from a loose back cover after two weeks and had to be taken to a warranty repair. Could be that it was a faulty unit out of the box, but I noticed it after two weeks of usage.

Xperia Z cracked display.

Facing a serious crack on the Xperia Z display. The crack is sort of a hairline crack and it is not like a web which appears when a glass shatters due to external pressure. Had it hanged around my neck and inside a jacket so no chance of external force. Went to Xperia Care Raipur and they refused to take it under warranty treating it as physical damage. Now trying in Delhi as people are more reasonable here. Read a lot of forums and Sony's official forum. It is so confusing. and this accidental warranty scheme which they have started from September 15th is also not helping as it is a manufacturing defect which Sony is not accepting. Please help as I do not want to shell out money for a mistake which was not mine. Please review these forums and help in coming out with a solution.

[Q] Replacing a Xperia Z1 Cracked Digitizer

Hello everyone!
I bought a Xperia Z1 two weeks ago, and it was the best phone I have ever had.
However my idiot brother Managed to crack the Digitizer a few days back, the display is still working and the phone powers up but the touch panel is unresponsive.
(He was playing with one of those Heavy Snake Egg magnets, he threw the magnet into the air, and landed right on my phone. I'm surprised the Display is still working. )
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here has replaced only the Touch Panel. I know on the Xperia Z1 its fused with the LCD, however with a machine like the Scotle PR-1000 its possible to separate the LCD from the touch panel.
Here is the link to a video showing the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8bZi3FreMk
Now I have a few questions such as:
-With this method, wont the LCD display be scratched up as well?
-When I replace the touch screen with a new touch panel using this method, will it look normal? Or will it look like it has been opened and repaired?
-With a new digitizer, is the phone still waterproof capable? (I dont really care about the waterproof capabilities that much anyways.)
Thanks!
Can anyone help me?
You could just replace the entire display module, digitizer, LCD, and all. This would be the cleaner and easier way of replacing it with fewer potential problems. As far as waterproofing goes, I am not sure. Those are sort of uncharted waters (no pun intended) as far as repairs go. If I were you, I would assume not just to be on the safe side, until further knowledge presented itself. I hope this info helps!
FOr the past few days thats what I was thinking.
Especially since where I live most Cellphone "technicians" are just people with a very limited knowledge of electronics, and would most probably mess up the phone even further.
after placing a few calls to some shops I managed to find a replacement LCD+Digitizer+Frame, but I do not know how good the quality of the replacement unit would be.
Dear WEM97 and other users,
I have the same problem as Akash434. Could you please briefly elaborate on what the (potential) problem could be with just replacing the Digitizer. I can't really decide what to replace the LCD+Digitizer or only Digitizer. I understand replacing the whole LCD unit along is a far, far easier process. But cost wise it's also almost the double (atleast where i live).
Upon removing the Digitizer, should the old glue be removed (if any). What kind of glue should I use to stick the new Digitizer? Will u see that there was glue used? These are just a few questions I am struggling with.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
PS: I apologize for any grammar mistakes. English is not my native language.
you can't do this without a professional machine

This is my video and the description will send you to the links to fix it yourself
Otherwise get a shop to fix it... although most regular shops won't fix it... or get sony to fix it if you wanna continue your warranty
Place the phone on a heatable-3dprinter-bed and warme it up the temperature you want - digitizer was falling of the display last time i repaired my z1. I heated it up to disassemble. Now it is cracked again and i just donĀ“t know how to glue the digitizer on... If i would change digitizer

xperia Z backlight flickering

My Xperia Z backlight has decided to almost die on me. Everything works perfectly fine except that the screen is incredibly dim, to the point I can't see anything.
Now, the problem I might run into for warranty might be that an indicator is slightly pink/subtle red, most likely due to some rain particles. this is on the headphone jack, the other ports are fine.
Would it be worth trying to get it repaired? I doubt there's any actual water damage since I don't remember the last time it was submerged.
As an alternative a local repairer offered to change that strip so I cam go through Sony repairs. However that's dishonest.
Has anyone else had this issue, or any advice?
Much appreciated guys.

Put in freezer for dead spots on screen fix?

Hey guys, I have a dead spot and ghost touch problem on my vs980 touchscreen. I purchased it as a refurb on Amazon and I'm not sure whether the seller will replace it (noticed a problem early on, but thought it was an issue with my clumsy thumb- but now it's gotten worse a couple weeks after the return period). I read on a couple other threads that people have cured this problem on other phones by putting them in the freezer for a few hours in a plastic bag. The only problem is that they always describe removing the battery before doing this. Obviously, this would take some work on the g2. Any opinion on whether doing this with the battery in would be too risky? Anyone think this will work at all?
I have had my phone for almost two years and that same thing just started on my so I would be very interested if that works.
Nope. Didn't work.

[Q] Sony Xperia Z1 Build Quality / Waterproof-ness Question

Hi there guys,
I have a question. I have owned many Xperia Z series phones, ranging from Xperia Z, Z1, Z2 Z3, Z3 Plus and even Z Ultra. Now I have had a problem with the glass disjoining on all these models. I have had multiple versions of the same ones yet after a few months use they all have the same issue, the back glass will start coming off.
I treat my phones really well, always in a case with screen protection on both front and back and also never dropped etc. However, the only phone that never did this to me was my Z1. I am saying was because now I have noticed the glass on the front is slightly coming up on one corner. Its not so big but it is noticeable from a very close distance (refer to photos).
I wonder if the phone is no longer waterproof and is there anyway of fixing this problem (or do I have to send it to Sony). And can I continue using my phone without it getting worse. I'm currently using it just with screen protection on both sides.
