HTC ONE M7(rooted, running cm 12.1) gets turned off when the battery reaches around 25% below without any warning. Might be some issues with the battery indication. Can anyone suggest me any solutions. Moreover the standby time is terrible. I Lose about 10%-15% battery over night WIFI turned on.
You should try calibrating the battery. Also what rom do you use? Maybe another rom with other kernel ?

I'm currently using cm12.1, but I had the same issue before rooting.
How to do calibration.
Sent from my One using XDA Free mobile app
Your wear level is ~25%.
Send it to HTC in case you still got warranty on it. They will replace the battery for free within the 2 years as you can't replace it yourself.
I have the same issue as the OP. On mine when it gets close to 10% then it rapidly drains and in less than a minute the phone is "dead".
What I find worrying is that today I was watching some Youtube videos, and the battery was at 30%. Then, without warning, the phone turned off and when I plugged in the charger it said I had 7% left???
Is a battery calibration the solution for my case?
I am out of warranty

I had similar issues with mine.
Phone dying without any warning whether it had 15% or 50% battery left.
Took me three (3) warranty repair trips to get it solved. And since I live in Finland that means a Poland trip for the phone, HTC's service center.
Between the second and third trip I had collected well over 60'000 lines of battery statistics (60s interval) on my phone using BMWP after the store clerk said that it would be "wise to test the phone before sending it in for repair again". Well, let's just say my testing period strained a tad longer than I intended, LOL.
Sent the phone to the third warranty trip with all that data and so on, which clearly showed the issues I had.
The phone came with with OS reinstalled and claimed to have been tested and working OK.
At this point I could have dismantled the trade. I was pissed at HTC and was going to
Here in Finland the law says that if the problem isn't fixed after three warranty repairs I am entitled to dismantle the trade and get most of my money back.
I ended up testing the phone one last time, for one day. It still had the issues, gee really, software doesn't fix hardware issues. This was on thursday.
The next day before I went back to the store to dismantle the trade, I thought about talking to HTC Finland's tech support.
After explaining stuff and telling my story, the tech rep said he could contact the service center if I were willing to give it one last go.
Well, I got nothing to lose. I love everything else about the phone besides the camera and battery and all I want is to get the phone fixed under warranty.
Took it back to the store on Friday, sent it in for repair.
Yesterday evening I got an email from HTC telling me that my "consumer complaint/reclamation had been processed and after thorough review we'll be exchanging your phone".
Well, that came from "behind the bush" as we tend to say here in Finland. Apparently the message/information the tech rep guy said to send to the service center somehow got escalated to a reclamation along the way. Might have something to do with this being the fourth repair.

I'll have to see what I get back. Asked the tech support today, same model or different model depending on what they have available.
Factory refurbished. Depending on which One Mx I receive, might be a M8. I'd imagine they're running low on M7's considering it's been over 2½ years since it's announcement/release date.
What it might be, I may put it up for sale immediately.. Easier to sell/more value on the phone right now as it will have the warranty of the original phone which is until february 2016.
Honestly, my finger is itching to press the buy button on a green Xperia Z5..
And the reason I'm thinking about switching brands is because my faith in HTC is at an all time low. This repair crap I've gone through, no more HTC Sense TV, no more excellent "do not disturb" mode which was replaced with priorities (WHY?!) and so on. That do not disturb mode was one of the features I loved the most. And they replaced it with priorities. I just..
The same thing happens to my M7. I'm trying this link to solve the issue, but because I haven't done it just yet, I can't tell you whether or not I've had luck with it. Good luck!

my phone won't vibrate when it turns on or when receiving texts or calls. even if i switch it to vibrate it won't. if i shake the phone a bit before i make a panel selection i get a click from inside the phone when i select the panel. it's like it wants to work but it won't work all the way. anyone else had this problem? if so how do i fix it? this is frustrating. thanks for any help
EDIT: (just so you don't have to search through the whole thread)
Found out that the problem was HTorch. I used it for only a few minutes on high power and it melted the Led on top of the vibrator motor and locked it down. Heed these words, comrades. Take special care not to use htorch on its bright setting. cheers

me too!
There's a thread where someone else had the same problem, more than likely the motor has burnt itself out or the weight/cam has dropped off the end of the shaft (LOL). More than likely a return to SE/your provider to get it fixed.
God you just jinxxed mine! Vibration is dead now. Nothing on calls texts or anything. Even when I go into sound panel to test it doesn't work.
Just done a hard reset and nothing.
Looks like a service job already....

that piece that looks crooked with a yellowish square piece on it shouldn't be crooked. it should only be occupying that blue rectangular space. it seems to have overheated and melted itself out of place. if you look here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWDurQrRt-Y&feature=related
at 2:26 you see what it should look like on the right side of the camera. it's new resting place is (guess where ) snug on top of the cam and motor. it's locked down. i would just like to know what it is and why or how it overheated. it seems like a simple fix... if i knew where to buy that black plastic thingy that is now melted. i just figured this was some interesting info to share. i really can't go without my phone for however long it would take for them to repair and ship it back to me so if any of you know of a place online that i can buy xperia parts, feel free to post a link. thanks you guys
that's the one...
Good job in finding out what it was. However, I didn't pay good money to fix it myself so it's going back to O2
O2 have no stock and are giving me the 'sometime next week' crap again. Then he said go into a shop and see if they can fix it as it may be software.
Looks like I will re-flash the ROM back to normal and then bring it into a store. Then it's either send off for repair or wait for stock. My Jedi senses are telling me that I am going to kick off very soon....
i thought about what i asked earlier about someone posting a link to buy replacement parts and then i remembered that parts shortage they went through that delayed everything. if sony/htc can't even get the parts they need to make the phones, then how am i supposed to get the extra parts that i need to fix mine lol so despite my impatience, i guess i'll have to send it back
Vodafone or O2 figurine?

best thing really, you don't expect to pay all that amount of money for a phone that is 99% working. This is my first SonyEricsson that I have sent back within 3 weeks for a hardware fault.
mine is an x1i unlocked from the uk and i'm a kid in the u.s. on t-mobile lol. wish i did live there though. that'd sure be swell
really though, these ARE the first on the market so ppl shouldn't expect them to be without their flaws just as with any other high-end item be it phones or game systems. time must be allowed for all the creases to be ironed out.
Good luck figurine lol
And yes I do expect problems and I am not that mad with SE but O2 should be able to support their customers in a reasonable timeframe as we paid good money for them....
that wasn't aimed at you guru... it's these ppl that make a big deal about having to send their phone back within a few weeks of getting it due to hardware or software issues. It's to be expected. they should wait a few months until the bugs are worked out or something
Hey guys,
My warranty for my captivate ends 08/23 and my phone has stopped charging.
I checked if it would charge with different USB cables and chargers but it still won't charge. So I guess it's a hardware problem.
The phone was dropped once probably from 5 ft. to rough concrete(Im 6'1 btw).
I had a skinomi screen protector since I had this phone so the screen is fine.
It has some minor scratches around the phone but you can hardly see them.
The scratches in the pictures below is what's making ask this question.

I would like to know if AT&T would consider this physical damage? Don't want to send the phone and be charged because of this.
Also I have a Device support center in my area.
Should I replace it by phone or should I visit the support center?
Well, that one is pretty iffy. My experiences with AT&T is that if you take it to a support center, it really depends who happens to be working the desk. They could look at it and replace it, or tell you that it is too damaged and "abused" and you are basically out of luck. Over the phone may work a little better, because you could mitigate (or bend the truth, whichever phrasing you prefer) the amount of damage, and the call warranty centers *seem* to replace just about anything. So it's really up to you.
Also, did it stop charging before or after you dropped it? That one could matter. You could also lie ahem bend the truth.
I replaced my hard bricked Cappy yesterday at a customer support center, they looked at it for 2 minutes and then decided it was "dead". So if that's anything for you, take it or leave it.
I dropped it months before this problem started. Ill probably go tomorrow to the service center. If they can't replace it ill just hard brick it and replace it over the phone.
Thanks

Yeah, if you really want it replaced, I would go ahead and hard brick it. Just flash a bad bootloader and you're good xD. Isn't it scary that we know how to break these things better then we know how to fix them?
I couldnt replace it cause the usb cover is broken they said it voids the warranty.
Luckily I got the mobile insurance but now I have to pay $125 to replace it.
I'll make sure to take care of the replacement

Christ. I'd hope the gorilla glass does its job and buy a protector for the rest of the phone going forward.
I bought this phone 2 days ago and the battery just died on me, the thing is that I charged it full and when it hits around 70% my whole phone shuts down and would not start up again. So I recharged it, and got it full and then it shuts down on me again around that same battery percentage. Can anyone tell me the problem or help me out here? I'm out of ideas. D =
Try going to your settings and checking your power options..
Settings / power / then look at your power saver it might be set to whatever level it keeps shutting down at . If this does not work let me know I have a couple other ideas but let's knock off the simple ones first

Its unconfirmed that's its a battery issue and seems very strange that a company can sell a product with no warranty.
Do a factory reset and if that doesn't fix it, physically go into the store and get refund/exchange.
It seems odd that the phone would do that it seems more like a software issue as you are getting a charge imo if it was a battery.hardware.issue it would not hold a charge at all. U can try and return it if you have a warrinty that permits you to return it it would be a easy fix. But if you have no warrinty I would say try flasshing a new Rom see what happens

Haven't heard of this particular problem but my girlfriend bought two HTC incredible S's last summer ( one for her one for her friend / roommate). Nothing went wrong with hers but her friends had a problem where it was getting real hot and the battery actually started melting so to speak. It caused the phone to form itsself into an arc shape where if laid down on a flat surface you could stack about two or three credit cards and slide it right underneath (I wont get into how clueless you have to be to not notice your phone get this hot). We sent it in for repairs ( with virgin) they determined it was a battery issue and will not cover it with warranty . Fixed the phone and it happened again within a week. Don't even get me started on bell/ virgin policies regarding warranty repairs...

Has anybody else had this issue? I haven't found many people so far with this issue. This is going to be my second exchange to T-Mobile; one more and I'm going to try a different device...
Don't charge it. Take a backup. Switch it off and send it back.
You really don't want the battery to vent and possibly have thermal runaway. Lithium batteries can fail quite spectacularly.
If you must charge it, put it far away from anything flammable and have a bucket of water ready.
Thanks... didn't realize the dangers could be that catastrophic...
Vent with flames come to mind, return it to HTC
In the mean time keep it somewhere always from flammable materials, in case it goes bang, i kid you not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive seen a lipo battery go off, I used to fly pro radio controlled helicopters which also run on lipo batteries and watched a poor mans £1000 heli go up in flames and destroyed to pieces, theres no blowing it out when they go, its an acid fire, if your sending it through the post I would first get a lipo safe charge bag and put it in there before posting, it could go off at anytime once it starts swelling.

Personally, if my phone would do this, I wouldn't even bring it inside my home again. Unstable Li-ion batteries are very likely to cause a fire eventually.
Bought brand new N6 from Google Play, open it and see scratches, a minor indentation and what looks like bubbling in the back cover of the phone. Called Google and spoke with a CSR and a manager, both say Google does not cover cosmetic damage they will only take the phone back and give a new one if there is something wrong with the functionality of the phone. Has anyone else been in this situation? What did you do?
I just spent $750 on what is suppose to be a premium device. Receiving it brand new from the factory with many significant cosmetic defects is unacceptable. How can Google not stand behind their product?

Call them back and tell them you are going to dispute the transaction with your credit card issuer. Also mention that you have already posted a warning online on places like XDA etc and tell them you are going to make a YouTube video that outlines the cosmetic flaws and your experience with the Google Play Store.
I just recently did this with something car related I bought that turned out to be in my opinion defective. I called customer support and recorded the call which is legal in most states and they were pretty much douches about my issue.
I told them if they didn't make it right I would post a review of their product and customer support on YouTube and do a charge back. The girl I spoke with basically told me to do what I had to do so I did. I called my card issuer and did a charge back under there customer satisfaction policy for internet purchases. I made a YouTube video outlining the product, the defect as I saw it and then gave a detailed accounting of my customer service experience WITH the call attached. I posted it on YouTube, put the link on several car forums and emailed the company the YouTube link and forum links. With 4 business days I received an email asking me to call a direct number which turned out to be a manager at the company who apologized and made it right with me. I left the video up but did update it to say they finally took care of me.
Side note, I got my money back from the card issuer the day I called AND the company sent me a new one and didn't even ask me to return the old one. They also never disputed my charge back oddly enough. It was a $1110.00 dollar electronic item for my Mitsubishi Lancer EVO.
It works 99% of the time.
Dispute the charges. They'll either replace it or you'll get your money back.

Have you tried telling them you got it and it just won't turn on?
If they approve the claim and send you a replacement, hard brick the phone and send it to them.
I'm waiting to see pics...
I would return that's not really accetable to get a messed up device and them not offer you an exchange. I thought play store had such great customer service?
