Did you try and hold the reset button? Hold it until your phone shuts of and vibrates 3 times if the button is broken you can either:
A: wait for the battery to die
B: send it to service center

Waiting for discharge since 6 hours, cause phone had 93%
Else you can disconnect the battery.

Power off reboot?

On my s4 i used to to hold the power button for 5 seconds or so and it would reboot. Did they ditch that feature or did i loose it somehow?
volume down + power for about 10 seconds
Works like charm?
On mine I just hit the restart button:

Yes restart works but it very usefull to have a long press for restart. For example when the devise freezes or when in download mode or when you are manually restarting recovery with the volume up buttons and you didn't press the button in time. So intead of waiting for a full reboot you can restart in the middle of a reboot.
This is the closest I could find on the intraweb:

I'll look into it.

Gear 2 Neo - lag when displaying time

Good Morning
If i look at the time (either via a wake up gesture or just pressing the button), the time is displayed with the time of the last screen display on, a second later updates to the correct time!
Why is this? Is there a solution to the problem?
For example if the time is 10:15 I may press the button and it will say 09:20 and then a second later change to 10:15 - is this normal?
Thanks

Stop Screen from coming on when fully charged

Does anybody know a way to prevent the screen from coming on (to the lock screen, not the always on screen) when the phone is fully charged? I have my phone on a wireless charger on my desk all day and it keeps topping off the battery but every time it hits 100% the screen comes on. So it's constantly charging up, screen on, discharging a little, charging up, screen on, etc...

I tried so many things with my N7 and nothing worked. not on my N4 either. it'll take something like root or other things to accomplish. I gave up and just deal. N8 due here shortly.

There's an app called SnooZy Charger. It's a Canadian app in the Play Store but not available for us in the United States Play Store for some reason. I have the link to the dev's page though. Download the zip (non flash-able of course) and extract the APK. Save it to your phone, install it and open settings, change "Connection status" to have the screen turn off when you either plug in the phone, unplug the phone or both.
Visit the entire site here.
If you just want to download the zip (the apk link no longer works) click here.
Best I can do with no Xposed or root. Hope it helps.

Thanks for posting this - I downloaded it and it works well. I usually charge in my phone after I am bed - and it annoyed me when the screen would light up.

I fixed it! I'm using AutomateIt Pro and I have a rule for charging/not charging and part of the rule on each is lock screen on/off and screen dim low (still playing with the number) and then screen back to normal when removed. it may not be perfect, but I am so tired of Sprint turning on my screen when it's finished charging or at random times. since I keep it on a wireless charger when not using this handles it for me. hope you all find your particular solutions. best of luck.
This should be a phone setting. Particularly annoying how it will routinely turn the screen on. Why doesn't it do that when connected to a charging cable?

I'd thank you twice if I could! I'd forgotten all about tasker. I thought it was only a rooted phone type of app.

Tasker isn't for everyone. I tried to make it as easy as I could by going step by step.
I got it set up and had it enabled. Something buggy with the app since other things are also not working. I'll play with it later. Meanwhile AutomateIt is giving me what I need until root.

I turned it on and then I tested it multiple times. did a bit of troubleshooting, uninstall, reinstall, add the item back, etc. something is buggy with my app. and it's really different from the first time I tried it years ago. really straightforward now, but won't let me do any kind of customization, etc. and save it. later I'll go clear my cache and see if that does anything. since my needs are handled atm I'll deal another day.

Thank you! This was also driving me nuts! I ended up having to leave it on the Wireless Charger in the kitchen overnight because the spouse is a light sleeper and threatened to shove my phone where the sun doesn't shine if the screen comes on again at night

HTC One M7 not turning on - help!

Hi there, I was wondering if there are any sure fire things I can do to be able to get my HTC back into the recovery menu.
The phone will not turn on, does not respond to charging and volume down and power does nothing, even when held down for a couple of minutes. Interestingly when connected to windows I hear the device connected noise when I hold down volume down and power whilst connected.
Any help would be massively appreciated in reviving my favourite phone. Runs custom AOSP android with the bootloader unlocked. Was working absolutely fine prior to the battery being rum down. Thank you!

Please, anyone, share HTC flash tool here.

You can flash it by using its latest firmware if your phone is not turning on.

Could be a crashed light sensor, sometimes it gets stuck and prevents the back light from turning on. Try holding a bright light close the light sensor then hold the bootloader button combo. It can take a couple of minutes so be patient keep holding the buttons. It should come on at the bootloader screen then just reboot from there.
No promises but it was a know issue so it's worth a try. [emoji106]
