I got tomtom 7 running on my herald, including maps
However I cannot get mapshare or Tomtom Home (2.3) to run properly.
TomTom home installs fine, but does not recognise my device and so I cannot update my maps.
did anybody here get it working on a herald?
GPS
Hi.
Sorry I don't have a solution to your problem, instead I have a question for you.
Are you using an bluetooth gps?
If so, what make and model?
Would you recommend the same?
Thanks
Chris.
is use keychain gps 2000 with an MTK chipset.
it's fast and accurate and (for me) most important: it's small. MTK is a very good chipset. i would definatively recommend it.
i use it as a keychain on my carkeys, very handy good reception, no need to put it under the windshield.

other devices with the mtk chipset:
qstartz bt-q818 extreme is supposed to be very good
good sites with good reviews: www.gpspassion.com
goog luck
I thought that well.
Our shift uses an internal cellphone kind of thing... that uses a Quallcom 400Mhz processor... could it be possible, that a rom for TyTN II for example, be cooked and make our shifts hidden parts work ?
The parts used for the gps antenna etc etc... in which other device are they used ?
Or perhaps the bluetooth chip...
anyone knows ...?

Well, it is possible in theory, but the issue is BT, WiFi, Voice (WaveDev) etc. are locked by Vista side of the world. On the other hand Vista uses WinMo as a modem to connect to internet and fetch GPS. I may be wrong too.
thanks

hello!
I have old IBM computer. It doesn't want to turn on - even bios is not loading. I have similar problem with Maxdata and there was broken motherboard. It is the same problem? Can it be broken processor? How can I check what is guilty for this malfunction?
Hdd, display, cd-rom, fdd are working.

Get the Mobo Manual and check if there is a CMOS Reset (Jumper Reset) on there, that might fix it.
Other than that, check all the connections, if that doesn't work, unplug all un necessary peripherals.

w00t
do they even exist ???
try the RAM too
computer = notebook
It is a21m. RAM is also ok, because I've tried with RAM from other laptop.
CMOS reset? I disconnected battery for 1 minute, but it didn't help
Can I turn it on without processor? because this could be the last thing that I didn't tested...

No u cant boot w/o the processor and if the pc is dead, it won't post boot.. no beeps.. so the rom is dead
how many beeps do you hear.. that tells ya what is the problem

as I thought...
how many beeps? Now I am not sure, but probably one on start (as normal) and nothing else
hmm, one beep is fine..maybe it could be your Vid card and then ur CPU
hook up ur lappy to an externa; monor and see if it works, else the fan stopped working and burned the cpu
maybe the vid cable is old and broken esp if its a old plastic ribbon or vid cable could have come loose
cable (graphic card - display) seems to be good, because I disconnected it from video card and later I tried to boot - without succeed...
so it could be graphic, cpu, and mobo... graphic card is installed on motherboard so if it or mobo is broken I must change this part. How can I check CPU?
that only why i can think of testing the cpu is putting it in another working motherboard with the same socket
But is 386? 486?
How many sockets suports 3-86, 4-86, 5-86, processors?
IBM i think with 21MB on Ram the processor must be 486...
but tell us how can you plug in to test your 21Ram Dimm or SIMM or rimm grimm frimm trimm PCB tablet on other mother? the minimal i saw this days are near 128Mb i cant figured out how your IBM motherboard supports that.... maybe searching for a 64 can run cause...
Im still with the Memory Issue....
I will be happy if it is RAM...
I have also older thinkpad with 128MB RAM (64x2 100MHz). This is with 192 (128+64 133MHz). I removed all 192MB and plugged 64 from older one - it is this same problem... but I will tried again in free time - weekend.... I will check this 192 MB RAM on this older laptop...
What sockets are you talking about? And what is this 21MB? Sorry, I don't understand
The processor made by Intel, it is Pentium III Mobile 800Mhz 256kb L2...

i have like 3 486 computers in my closet xD
eh.... I checked RAM memory on this older notebook and it is working... I also tried with external display - no results...
so?

lol...well the motherboard could be shot.
cool...
so only way to make parts useful is to keep them for another broken notebook?
thanks!
Hi,
I am working currently on the fixing of the WLAN driver for Philips BGW200 chip for Windows CE 5.0. The WLAN chip is connected to the CPU Intel PXA270 via the SPI interface.
We experience device freezing (during roaming?) in wireless environment with 17 access points and Cisco WLAN controller. The threads and timers of the driver are sequentially crashing or stopping somehow, the WLAN chip stops to send interrupts, and NDIS stops to query and set configuration data to the driver. Even reset of the driver invoked by NDIS doesn’t help.
We do not have any documentation for the driver and the firmware is only a binary image. We have discovered many synchronization issues inside the driver and some memory leaks are also present.
If you can, please help us. Is there any available developer documentation for the BGW200 chip, or for any Windows CE driver for it? Is there a tested and well running driver available?
Any advice is welcome.
Roger
Hi,
my ME176CX has Lollipop 5.0 newest version from ASUS.
The device is rooted.
From the list of features of this tablet:
GPS
GLONASS
Compass
Magnetic field sensor
Accelerometer
3-Axis positioning sensor
The Compass seems to be hrrrrrmmm "uncalibrated" (read: wrong), but is does something.
The 3-axis positioning sensor seems to work
Accelerometer...dont know how to check for that.
GPS? GLONASS?
Currently: No, nothing...no satellites found, no sync...nothing.
I tried some basic GPS apps...but (as said) nothing.
I definetly DONT want Google maps (and even if I want it, I cant...bad luck with WiFi on my PC).
And for me it is a contradiction to need Wifi when using GPS.
What happens to GPS/GLONASS on this tablet? Dead?
Is there any app with offline Openstreet map support AND the possibility to put the
maps manually onto the tablet's external sdcard?
Thank you very much for any sync on a GPS/GLONASS satellite !
Best regards,
tuxic
