Oh, that was fast. Thank you. The reason I ask is because the only way the md5 checks out is by removing the.md5 from the file name. I'm new here, and don't see how to send screenshots of the md5 check.
Select AP???
Now, under step 4 it says to select AP and find the tar file, which I'm guessing he means tar.md5 file because thats the file he linked to. But I do not see where to select AP. I can chose PIT, Bootloader, PDA, PHONE, or CSC in Odin 3.07. I see where I can check dump and there's a AP RAM selection box. I wish I could ask in the thread, but new members can't post in development threads.
@jackeagle or anyone who knows....please fill me in here.
I've apparently met the minimum post requirement so I was able to post in the thread and ask about it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...recovery-qualcomm-twrp-2-8-7-0-t3245256/page4
I got it done by the way. WOOHOO!! I'm now rooted, TWRPed, backed up and Busybox installed!!

Can someone explain to me what each of the file slots are meant for on Odin and which go where?
Sometime's I'll read "flash this kernel" or "use these boot loaders" and the file doesn't have a .pit or .pda to give an idea where to put each file.

Odin filees are in .tar or .tar.md5 format. Usually just use PDA PIT is if you partition with ODIN (Partition Information Table).
usually if you read the post it will tell you which slot. if its a kernel it is MOST LIKELY PDA

That's why I'm asking sometimes it's not in the post.
So Kernals usually go in the PDA slots.
What about boot loaders?
What's the .PIT file?
I guess I'm confused because you'll get a post with 4 files all with .rar or .md5 extensions and I have no clue where to put them. It might say boot loader on it but where does that go?

i am looking for completely stock .tar files to flash through odin
i bricked my tablets and i need to revert to stock. I have the stock recovery file but i can't find a stock rom or a .pit file
You can find it here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582943
and make sure you got the correct stock rom for your tab version.
Installation guide is there too.
also when using odin, make sure KIES is not running on tray
(for windows: [ctrl + alt + del] > Processes tab > terminate KiesTrayAgent.exe)
it doesn't have the US model listed
It doesn't really matter,As long as it has english language.
Because you're only going to use it to get the recovery back working to flash another rom.
Just grab the latest firmware for the 8.9 wifi only model, P7310XWKI2
one last question? any idea where i can get the .pit file?
There isn't a need in using .pit file.
and i don't know where to get it.
The *.tar.md5 file you found after unzipping it will just do.
load is to the PDA in odin3.

Hi friend, I found a guide searching in Google. You can follow this guide and instead of the mentioned firmware, you can use yours.
Here is the guide, hope it helps

Hi arys64
thanks for your reply
Unlukily that guide teach how to flash a classic firmware (pda+csc+pit).
I don't have these 3 files and instead I have a .tar.md5 file that I think has these files inside but at it's end it has the md5 code.
I don't know how to unzip it...
Thank you
pietro

Just put the file that you downloaded to pda and that's it. Don't touch anything else.
Latest firmware: http://live.samsung-updates.com/det..._4_Snapdragon/SM-N910F/HTS/N910FXXU1COH4.html
Haven't seen it on Sammobile yet (their downloads are much faster) Camera2 Api? Probably not. Downloading now. Also liveblog downloads always fail for me....
download speeds with samsung firmware downloader are much faster, the file is available!!

put the extracted firmware files into c:\odin
delete hidden.img and cache.img
then the command in cygwin to change to that directory would be
cd /cydrive/c/odin
then enter the re-tar command as described in my guide and flash the n910f.tar file with odin! this will work 100%!
Sorry guys.. can i flash N910FXXU1COH4 HUI (h3g italy) on my no branded note?

Ok finally got through the change directory, created the tar as described and flashed it with Odin. Stuck in bootloop. Tried installing twrp recovery, either failed with odin or when trying to boot into recovery it automatically went into download mode.
Flashed my regions stock rom through kies emergency recovery. Boots up fine, works fine. Next flashed the 5.1.1 Tar image. Same problem, endless booting sequence (gets up to home page and then reboots).
Anyone have some suggestions?
I've been trying to restore my Note 5 (N920T) to stock 7.0 Firmware via Samfirm & Odin. However when I download the firmware with Samfirm, I get a .zip.enc4 file. The OP of Samfirm says to rename it as just .zip. However doing this WinRar spits out a bunch of errors, and it will not extract. I have no clue how I can get these .zip.enc4 files to something I can use in Odin, but the lack of clear instructions is actually laughable.
SamFirm is very easy to use, really there are no instructions needed. Check the attached Screenshots from my Win 8.1 machine. You select Check CRC32 and obviously Decrypt automatically. When SamFirm is done downloading it will decrypt the file and when finished you'll get a zip. Inside the .zip there is your firmware.
