No matter what ROM I use, whether its the latest official O2 one or "Pugs" Edited version of it with the 1.03 Radio version, it ALWAYS installs the O2 Active UI.
After every Hard Reset, once Windows has been set up, the device ALWAYS says "Customising in 3 Seconds" and then starts to run a load of installers on which the cancel button does nothing. Then, after these have finished, it asks the "Personal or Corporate" question, and whichever I tick, the O2 Active application is ALWAYS installed at the end of this.
How can I get rid of it? From what I have read, selecting "Corporate" stops the O2 Active program getting installed, but this is NOT true, atleast, not on my XDA2i.
Is it possible to get my device working with Pugs edited latest ROM version with Radio 1.03, WITHOUT having O2 Active installed on it?
Any help would be appreciated, as it is probably a simple fix,
thanks,
Darren
it does
once it asks you for personal or corperate
put a tick in corerate and just underneath enter a password 0506 & that will put it into corp mode
& if you want to gprs settings here they are
connection name
mobile web
modem
cellular line gprs
access point
mobile.o2.co.uk
user name
o2web
password
password
advanced
use server assigned ip
servers
use specific

Re: Corp install and phone carrier settings
When the option screen appears, if you do not put the corp settings in, it will automatically default the UI install after a few seconds, after you put the code 0506 I think you have press 'enter'.
For your installation of GPRS/WAP/MMS, please follow this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26463 As I have uploaded all the latest Mobile carrier cab installs (V2.0) for the UK, for both contract and PAYG. Just copy the correct cab to your pda device and click to install, simple as that.
Turns out I bodged my own solution to this problem!!
When it tells you it will Customise the Device in 3 Seconds, Press the SOFT RESET button!
This will reboot the XDA2i into Windows and will NOT run any of the O2 Installers, and so none of the O2 Active will be Installed.
This means that I do not even get asked the Personal or Corporate question.
Thanks for the help tho,
Dazzer.
I have uninstalled the O2 active UI by booting in safe mode and then uninstalling it.
However on rebooting it now says that connections.exe cannot run because some files or libraries are missing.
Can I find out what it has uninstalled and put it back manually as I don't want to have to do a hard reboot and will the cab mentioned above do this?
Thanks

I am running WM6, but my company implemented push email, and the device is now app unlocked after installing some certificates etc. I cannot run half of my programs - I tried the SDA-Application.exe program, which seemed to be succesful, but did not work. I cannot open a registry editor either.
I search all over this forum but cannot find the answer - how can I app unlock my wizard again?
We are also about to be issued HTC Touches which are similarly app locked, so it would be useful to have a method that worked for both!
Thanks
have you tried the lokiwiz and awizard apps?
rgs
No - these don't do certificate/application unlocking do they - I thought just CID/SIM locking?
PS I tried installing lokiwiz but I can't due to the app lock!
Both awizard and lokiwiz don't simply remove the Unsigned App Policies nor RAPI communication restrictions. What they need to work is for the phone to be in that state (app+rapi unlocked) and that's why there are some CAB that go along that are supposed to be run prior.
You can use my tool (WST - check signature) that does it with a click of a button
cheers
Great tool - didn't connect on Vista, connected on XP but says:
Not needed!
Regsitry settings are already set to use RAPI tools.
But I still cannot run unsigned apps! I have rebooted. I know they added a root and user certificate to the device - all apps have to be signed now.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks
Sure, get yourself a registry editor and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies and edit two values:
:00001006=dword:1
:0000101a=dword:1
hope it does the trick
I tried mobile reg editor, which lets you edit the registry from a PC, and one of the reg keys was set to 0. But I changed it, rebooted, and same probem

Ok, looks like they changed some other settings that interfere with the permissions.
Check if HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\CertMod\AllowUntrustedApps is set to DWORD: 1
Hang on I figured it out....the 00001006 key was for some reason not applied once I rebooted. Thanks for all the help!
For anyone needing to do the same - I had to download mobile registry editor from http://mobile-registry-editor.en.softonic.com/pocket as that allows you to edit keys from the PC without installing anything.
My new problem, is that on our touch/elf I cannot change this key with this program as it says access denied - so there must be some registry permissions on there.
hsclater said:
Yes that is set to 1. It should be right?

I pointed that because when i set it to 0 the phone refused to install apps so i thought it was the responsible registry value.
Must be another one then...
Thanks for all your help - my wizard is now sorted.
Any idea how they restricted the registry on a touch so I can't change that value?

I believe those settings are more related to WM6 than to the specific device so they should be the same.
btw, how did you sort it out? I'd like to know for future use
tx
Mine was just fixed by changing the 1006 value. The first time, the phone didn't take the change, but the second time it did and now works.
But the touch, it won't let me edit the registry remotely - access denied.
Cheers.
upload Cert_SPCS.cab to your phone and run it
PS:
sorry for asking but i didn't read your edit before
Installed and working on Kaiser WM6 !
Manual install process :
1. Unpack the attached ZIP file with subfolders.
2. Copy all the files to the appropriate folders on your PDA.
3. Change the registry according to the attached registry.txt (change 2 keys and create 4 new)
4. Completely turn off your PDA (to renew the registry). Reset button does not work.
5. Switch the device on.
6. In order to enter the PIN code do: Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Enter your PIN
Now you have an Avaya One-X as a dialer.
Do not forget to fill settings.ini with your own settings.
Enjoy !

What is it? A phone dialer??? I've never heard of it before. Any screenshot?
Can you provide any screenshots???
It looks like a VOIP client
http://www1.avaya.com/campaign/demo/one-x/index.html
could you please provide more info on Avaya one-x? what are the benefits of running this?
thanks!
I believe you need an Avaya VoIP system to get the one x client to work. I know they had a version for thier IP Office system but I don't think they ever updated it to run on WM6
Guys,
This is an application for WM which replaces the standard phone dialer and in addition to regular WM phone functionality it allows:
1. Manage your desktop office phone directly from your mobile
2. Make all operations like call forwarding, EC500 management, etc directly from your mobile.
It requires to have an Avaya VOIP PBX installed at your office.
Without it, it does not make sense at all.
Hi
We have an Avaya VOIP PBX installed at our office..
Could please tell us to connect HTC Touch Cruise wm6!
We have tried everyway we could, and read every document available on avaya support page, with no luck.
thank you in advance.

Look on Avaya's website and see if thy have the client available to dowload. Last time I checked it was for WM 2003.
Hi!
In my device I have saved passwords to various WiFi hotspots around the city, so when I get to a certain place I can connect to their hotspot automatically.
I will be installing a new custom ROM and would like to somehow save SSID/password data for all my hotspots and have them restored on the new ROM.
Is there a way to do it?
My current ROM is some version of NRG.
Thank you!

You can either locate the registry and export it or use a backup program such as SPB back up and restore it that way, but you probably should locate it in the registry so you know eactly what to restore, as restoring other registry settings can mess up a new ROM.
Couldn't find anything in the registry. Can those settings be hidden somewhere else? It's pretty simple to do it in desktop Windows version, so I guess the same should be available for WinMo. Thx!
The settings must be stored under:
HKCU\\Comm\EAPOL\Config\
Is there any way to backup all the data include system image and program data to my PC ? I remember there used to be a tool WPBackup developed by a XDA-Developers Group (CeesHeim, Football, Heathcliff74, HD2Owner, OndraSter, xboxmod, etc.) , I'v tried this tool and didn't work with WP8. I have wp8.1 SDK on my system and Nokia Care Suit 5.0.

That app was a WP7 app and It needs a fully unlocked WP7 ROM .
we have something like that for wp8 devices too developed by -W_O_L_F- but it needs an interop unlocked phone at least + capability unlock
so it's not possible to use it for LUMIA devices by you .

Thanks for your help, and if there is a way to unlock my lumia525 just like you said?( I have read this post and know that the hack only works for SAMSUNG phones currently. So maybe I could found another way to backup my data. ( ´_ゝ`)
What if I installed my apps in SD card and backup the data from the card? Is this possible?

There's no way at this time
But applications data will be recovered after you install them again
Most of your data and settings are stored in your OneDrive and you can simply recovery then if you hard reset your phone
